  1. >Weekend comes and goes and I find it Monday morning once again.
  2. >Still uneasy over what happened with that doppleganger.
  3. >On her insistence Tsubaki has started walking with me on the way to work.
  4. >Talking her out of it didn't go well.
  5. >Don't really complain since I like spending time with her.
  6. >"Do you have to go into work today?"
  7. >It was through this typical response I learned she really wasn't a morning person.
  8. >Her grogginess while cute did slow me down.
  9. >"Hey stay in bed if you want, I need to get to work."
  10. >"No Anon I want to make sure you get there safely."
  11. >"Fine I'll go wait on the couch Tsu."
  12. >This morning exchange ended up becoming the norm.
  13. >Did manage to get Tsubaki to begrudgingly agree to let me walk home by myself after much debate.
  14. >With every passing day enjoy my walks to work with Tsubaki more and more.
  15. >Manage to keep feelings under control
  16. >June came around and with it Beach weather.
  17. >Thanks to Tsubaki's hard work was able to afford a nice air conditioner.
  18. >Even with it on off days we'd go to the beach.
  19. >It was also one of the few times I got to use my car.
  20. >Today was one such day.
  21. >Pack the car and head out.
  22. >Hit traffic about 20 or so minutes in.
  23. >Kinda just sitting there staring at the rows of cars in front.
  24. >It's a constant game of stop and go.
  25. >"Tsu if it's alright with you I'm gonna turn off the AC for a bit, don't feel like wasting gas."
  26. >"That's fine."
  27. >"If it gets too hot lemme know, alright?"
  28. >Tsubaki flashes me a nice reassuring smile.
  29. >"I'll be sure to let you know Anon."
  30. >"Alright."
  31. >Move onto another subject to kill time.
  32. >"So...uhh...any plans when we get to the beach?"
  33. >"I'll probably sunbathe a bit."
  34. >"Don't like to swim?"
  35. >"The salt water makes my tail feel gross."
  36. >"Alright, fair enough."
  37. >Traffic continued to crawl until we got through the bottleneck.
  38. >Getting to the beach was a non-issue.
  39. >Finding a parking space wasn't.
  40. >Luck out last second when a dude and his lamia girlfriend are leaving.
  41. >Luckier still is the fact it's not far from the beach itself.
  42. >Air outside is hot and dry.
  43. >"Hey Tsu can you unlock the trunk? I'll grab the cooler and the other stuff?"
  44. >"Ok, you need me to help with anything else Anon?"
  45. >"Nah, I got this."
  46. >Throw Tsubaki the keys while I dig out the cooler and the beach blanket.
  47. >By the time I get everything she's grabbed the bag with her bathing suit in it and my skimboard.
  48. >"You know I could teach you to skimboard Tsubaki, it's easy to do."
  49. >"That's kind of you Anon but I'd rather not get my tail wet."
  50. >"Fine, trade you the beach towels under my arm for the board though."
  51. >"You're already carrying so much and with the cooler it'd just be awkward for you."
  52. >Double check one last time that we have everything before locking the car and going to look for a spot.
  53. >Manage to find a spot after some searching and set up camp.
  54. >"Anon I'm gonna go get changed. I'll be back in a second."
  55. >With Tsubaki heading to the changing room I'm left to set up the rest of the stuff.
  56. >When she comes back she's got her tan shorts and blue tube top under her arm.
  57. >She's now in a two piece swim suit and I can't help but stare.
  58. >The tanlines she's got from previous beach trips isn't helping.
  59. >End up having to use the 'fishing for change' maneuver to hide my boner.
  60. >Tried to look busy as she came walking up.
  61. >"Anon could you put sunscreen on my back?"
  62. >"Ye-yeah sure.." I managed to get out between nervous laughs.
  63. >Even though it wasn't the first time she's asked me to do this I'm still nervous.
  64. >Applied the sunscreen for Tsubaki while she laid on one of the blankets.
  65. >As soon as my hands touched her bare back her tail twitched a bit, brushing me in the face.
  66. >"Right you're good to go."
  67. >Grab skim board and go to leave.
  68. >Stopped by Tsubaki before I can even take a step.
  69. >"Anon you need sunscreen too, remember last time you ended up really badly burned?"
  70. >"I'll just keep my shirt on." I said giving my shirt a brief tug.
  71. >"Anon that's not really going to help, come on take it off."
  72. >"eeeugh..."
  73. >Take my shirt and toss it next to the cooler.
  74. >"Turn around Anon."
  75. >Spin around only tensing up when I feel Tsubaki rubbing in the stuff.
  76. >Try to keep my mind off it by looking at a hellhound and her father building a sand castle.
  77. >"There, you can get your arms and front by yourself Anon."
  78. >"Alright toss me the bottle."
  79. >Tsubaki doesn't entertain my idea and just hands it to me.
  80. >"I'd rather you not drop it and get sand in it."
  81. >"Fair enough I guess."
  82. >Head down to the ocean one application of sunscreen and attempt to get Tsubaki in the water later.
  83. >Before even getting into the water I run into a few problems.
  84. >One of them being almost tripping over the sunbathing body of a Dullahan whose head was under an umbrella reading.
  85. >Finally get down to the water after a few more incidents.
  86. >Group of kids playing chicken with the waves at the water's edge.
  87. >Find a sandbar and get a few runs in.
  88. >Almost hit a lamia whose basking in the shallow warm water.
  89. >Spend what felt like an hour just gliding over the water.
  90. >Even tried to do some tricks and stance switches.
  91. >End up going back in when hunger kicks in.
  92. >Leave the sand bar with a sore ass and a bruise on my heel from when I failed to jump on the board.
  93. >Wade through the deeper water and back onto land.
  94. >Walking up towards my spot notice there's someone else there besides Tsubaki.
  95. >Figure it's a dude passing by at first, then realize he's standing there.
  96. >Start to hear what he's saying as I get closer.
  97. >"Wanna join me for a drink later or something else?"
  98. >Realize the dude is trying to hit on Tsubaki.
  99. >"No thanks."
  100. >"Oh come on, I'll take you somewhere nice..."
  101. >Guy stops as he sees Tsubaki isn't looking at him.
  102. >She's looking at me walking up behind.
  103. >"Uhh...Hey Tsuba, this guy a friend of yours?"
  104. >"Not really, he just came over and started trying to hit on me, I've been sorta just humoring him."
  105. >Guy turns around as he hears me.
  106. >Getting a good look at the guy he's probably seven feet or so judging by how he towers over me.
  107. >The dude's ripped, not AHNAHLD ripped but pretty damn fit.
  108. >Dude reeks of Chad Thundercock
  109. >He looks me over before jerking a thumb at me and turning back to Tsubaki.
  110. >"You know this loser babe?"
  111. >Look over at Tsubaki to see what she's going to say.
  112. >She's got this really mischievous grin on her face.
  113. >"Of course I know him, Anon is my boyfriend."
  114. >Felt my face flush red and eyes go wide as I heard this.
  115. >The guy is looking at her with some skepticism.
  116. >"This pale loser?"
  117. >Tsubaki just scowled at him and got up from her spot and stood next to me.
  118. >Not only that but she put an arm and her tail around me.
  119. >Felt really embarrassed but at the same time happy.
  120. >"Yes he is, and he's more of a man than you probably are."
  121. >Dude's full on pointing to me.
  122. >He still isn't buying her bluff.
  123. >"He paying you or something? Come on ditch him and let's go somewhere nice."
  124. >Pulled closer by Tsubaki, the tightness in my chest rising further.
  125. >"I said no, you reek of commitment dodging anyways. If there's a loser here it's you pal."
  126. >The guy looked like he was about to lose his temper.
  127. >All niceties seem to have left the building with him.
  128. >"The fuck did you say to me?"
  129. >Know I have to do something.
  130. >"You heard the lady, now get lost."
  131. >Manage to get that out without stuttering.
  132. >Also hoping no one saw me shaking.
  133. >The Chad's now shooting daggers at me.
  134. >I can't help but smile at the fact that he looks ready to throw a tantrum.
  135. >"Who the fuck asked you to talk faggot?"
  136. >"Did I stutter son? The lady said to get lost, now beat it."
  137. >Worrying less about myself by the second and more about Tsubaki.
  138. >Put an arm around her in kind for emphasis.
  139. >Dude looks like he's ready to take a swing at this point.
  140. >"Think you're tough faggot? come on fight me you pussy."
  141. >"Are you really that petty of a man you're willing to pick a fight because someone told you something you don't want to hear? My boyfriend told you to leave. now LEAVE, before I call the police and slap you with a sexual harassment suit so hard it'll make whatever shrunken manhood you have left shrivel up and fall off."
  142. >Watch as the guy's face turns stone cold.
  143. >I'm smiling like a jackass all the while.
  144. >Watch as he storms off bitching under his breath.
  145. >Even after the guy left Tsubaki still had her arm and tail around me.
  146. >"Uhh..Tsuba, you can let go now the guy's gone."
  147. >"OH! Sorry..."
  148. >Tsubaki quickly let go, her face becoming beet red.
  149. >Felt great being able to see another moment of Tsubaki being cute.
  150. >"H-hey Tsuba, you ok?"
  151. >"Y-Yeah..a little shaken though."
  152. >Tsubaki straightened up.
  153. >"You and me both Tsu, we really had one another back there."
  154. >"Thanks Anon."
  155. >"I should thank you too Tsu. You stopped that dude dead in his tracks with that last remark."
  156. >Tsubaki went red again at my compliment.
  157. >Felt myself smile on the inside.
  158. >"Hey Anon, we should head home, it's getting late."
  159. >"Ok sure, wanna stop somewhere to eat on the way home?"
  160. >"No, I'd rather just go home."
  161. >"Alrighty."
  162. >"Also...can you make that shrimp dish?"
  163. >"You really want Jambalaya?"
  164. >"If it's not a problem for you Anon."
  165. >Think about it for a second before shaking my head.
  166. >"It's not a problem Tsubaki...Come on let's pack up and get home."
  167. >Pack up and pick up everything.
  168. >On the way back realize I missed lunch.
  169. >In the end just gave myself a bigger helping at dinner.
