born in korea, raised in shanghai, hana leaded a really stressful life there as her brother excelled really well in school. furthermore, she was the only daughter of the al' mighty choi hotels. naturally her parents pinned high hopes on her, wanting her to do well in her studies. but no matter how hard she studied, she couldn't. as her parents' were overseas most of the time, busy expanding the business, she grew up with her brother back in shanghai. at the age of 13, her father thought that it'd be best if she gets a change of environment to live in, hence they decided to go back to hana's birthplace, seoul.

↳ where it was a rainy day with storms roaring on a day after night study where most students left, hana was scared to go home because she has a huge phobia of storms. jinyoung saw that and accompanied her home, telling her that she'd be okay if he was there, he even offered to hold her hand and whenever a storm roared, hana hid behind jinyoung's arm and held tightly onto him.
