  1. [F4A] It's My Treat - Your Favourite Baker Asks You Out [Acquaintances to More] [Conversational] [Flirty] [Teasing] [Confident Speaker]
  2.
  3. Late one day after the daytime rush, one of your regulars comes in to your bakery. They usually drop by in the morning, so this is already strange to you. After a nice catch-up session rife with teasing banter, you push forward and ask them the question you think they've wanting to ask *you* after all this time.
  4.
  5. [square brackets] for tone/actions, SFX where noted (optional)
  6. *asterisks* for emphasis
  7. double spaces for longer pauses
  8. /slashes/ used for explanations of sounds or actions or any contextual events
  9. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
  10.
  11. [SFX: store door bell]
  12.
  13. Ahah! So *there's* my favourite customer! I missed you this morning~
  14.
  15. Yeah you didn't come in at your usual time so I got worried. [teasing] What happened, you find someone else to bake your Friday treat, hmm?
  16.
  17. [laughs] I'm only teasing. I know you wouldn't do that to me, you love me too much~
  18.
  19. But what's been going on? You're never here at this time.
  20.
  21. I mean, it's late in the afternoon. You always get here at like 9 AM sharp. I think it's pretty weird that you're dropping by now.
  22.
  23. Oh, you overslept? Were you late for work?
  24.
  25. [sympathetic] Aw, that's not like you. I hope you're taking care of yourself.
  26.
  27. That's good to know. Can't have you missing our Friday morning chats~
  28.
  29. So, what, are you free now?
  30.
  31. Then...would you like to stay for a bit? We can spend some time catching up.
  32.
  33. Of course it's fine! Look around, this place is surprisingly empty.
  34.
  35. Well, the daytime rush ended rather quickly today.
  36.
  37. [laughs] Right? You know how you have to fight for your place in the morning line.
  38.
  39. No no, I like seeing you up front. You always give me such a big, goofy smile. It's a lovely way to start my day~
  40.
  41. Blushing, are we? My, I'm not used to seeing that. [coy] Is there perhaps some *other* reason you decided to visit so late?
  42.
  43. Oh, I shouldn't worry about it?
  44.
  45. [chuckle] Sure thing. Just take a seat, ok? I'm going to flip the sign on the door.
  46.
  47. It's fine~ I'm more than happy to close up early for you, hun.
  48.
  49.
  50. So, can I get you anything?
  51.
  52. Your regular order? Can't afford to miss it, huh?
  53.
  54. Would you like a coffee with that?
  55.
  56. Wonderful. I think I'll have the same. Maybe I can find out why you love it so much.
  57.
  58. [chuckle] Don't you go anywhere, now.
  59.
  60.
  61. And here we are~ Your favourite butterscotch sticky buns!
  62.
  63. I don't understand how you can have this much sugar so early in the morning.
  64.
  65. Maybe that's why you're so sweet~
  66.
  67. Ah. Yeah, I'll definitely need the coffee to cut through this.
  68.
  69. Hm? It's the rest of the tray, and? I thought we could share.
  70.
  71. It's on me, don't worry about it.
  72.
  73. You're welcome. Cheers, by the way.
  74.
  75. [squeal] [mouth full] Oh my *god*. I can see why you get these every Friday. Sweet jesus. Literally. [laughs]
  76.
  77. [mouth still full] Hm?
  78.
  79. [clears throat] Apart from the little taste tests I do, it's not like I go around eating all my product. Especially things like this. I can't have a sugar crash in the middle of my day.
  80.
  81. But I forgot how damn *good* these tasted! Are they always this delicious?
  82.
  83. [coy] Well...maybe it's the company then~
  84.
  85. So what's been happening? Give me the news.
  86.
  87. Whatever you want to tell me, really. Like...how's work? I know that's a bit of a boring question, but I always see you before you head in. It'll be nice to hear what your day was like.
  88.
  89. Yeah, it's not like we have time like this when you usually come in.
  90.
  91. Mhm, go ahead.
  92.
  93.
  94. Ok.
  95.
  96.
  97. What, really?
  98.
  99. Oh my god, you can't be serious.
  100.
  101. Ooh! That reminds me, I have one of those customer horror stories to tell you!
  102.
  103. Yeah! I never get to tell you these. So this guy comes in and asks for some brownies, see? And you know how I make them, right? I sprinkle a bunch of walnuts on the top for some presentation.
  104.
  105. So anyway, I give this guy his order, he leaves the shop and like two seconds later he comes back to the counter and flips out because they're full of nuts!
  106.
  107. Exactly! You can see all the walnuts on it! He even took a bite out of one of them. How is that even possible? You look at your food before you eat it, don't you?
  108.
  109. I ended up replacing his order with something else to calm him down. [smug] I can be *quite* diplomatic when I want to be.
  110.
  111. I was stunned, seriously. The whole conversation made no sense. [laughs]
  112.
  113. Oh, one sec.
  114.
  115. No, you've just got a little something... /she wipes something of listener's cheek, licks it, classic romcom stuff/
  116.
  117. Mmm, got it~
  118.
  119. [surprised, but teasing] *What* is with the blushing today, hun? Is this what happens when I see you for more than 5 minutes?
  120.
  121. Maybe we should do this more often? I like seeing this side of you~
  122.
  123. No, it's *very* cute. Don't shy away from it.
  124.
  125. [chuckle] Ok, I'll stop. I don't want to scare you off.
  126.
  127. Work aside, what's new?
  128.
  129.
  130. [gasp] You started baking? That's wonderful! [coy] Any specific reason for that?
  131.
  132. Of course it's not weird! I'm just nosy~
  133.
  134. Maybe I could even teach you sometime? I can't give you all my secret recipes, but I could definitely show you a thing or two. We can make it a fun little baking date.
  135.
  136. Oh, speaking of, did you see the sign outside?
  137.
  138. Mhm. I made something new today! It was pretty surprising how much the customers liked it.
  139.
  140. Well, it was a new recipe, so I didn't know what to expect.
  141.
  142. Aww, you flatter me~
  143.
  144. It was super popular. They're actually all sold out.
  145.
  146. [sympathetic] Oh, look at that face. I'll be making them again, don't you worry about that.
  147.
  148. But guess what? I saved a piece for you.
  149.
  150. Why wouldn't I? When you didn't come in this morning I put some on the side. I was hoping you'd still come in today so you could try it.
  151.
  152. You're very welcome. Let me get it for you.
  153.
  154.
  155. Ta-da~ I know you have one hell of a sweet tooth, so there was no way I was going to let you miss out on this. Eat up~
  156.
  157. It's good, right?
  158.
  159. Oh my god, that smile. I'm so glad you like it! I was really looking forward to seeing your face when you tasted it.
  160.
  161. [laughs] Are you eating like this on purpose?
  162.
  163. Sure you aren't, you sly devil. Come here, give me your cheek~
  164.
  165. [laughs] What's the matter?
  166.
  167. You want me to stop that? Then maybe you should stop being so cute, hmm?
  168.
  169. Ok listen, before you get any more flustered and I end up chasing you away, I think it's time you tell me why you're really here.
  170.
  171. Oh, I *know* you're here for a reason. A lot of my regulars would have gone about their day if they didn't come in for their orders. But you just couldn't stay away, could you, hun? Are my pastries that irresistible? Or maybe it's *me* you keep coming back for?
  172.
  173.
  174. You *still* want to play innocent? Ok then, cutie. How about this. [no more teasing, very direct] I'd like to take you out sometime, and I would love it if you said yes.
  175.
  176. Ooh, caught you on the back foot there, did I?
  177.
  178. Honey, I would love to see more of you outside of our Friday morning meetings. And I'm pretty sure you wouldn't mind it either~
  179.
  180. We've seen each other every single Friday for ages! You're so sweet, of course I like you too.
  181.
  182. So, I take it that it's a yes?
  183.
  184. Wonderful!
  185.
  186. Hm?
  187.
  188. Oh, I had a feeling you wanted to ask me out. I told you it was weird for you to be dropping by so late.
  189.
  190. Why did you think I was being so flirty this entire time? I thought I could fluster you into telling me~ [chuckle]
  191.
  192. I don't want to say you weren't *subtle*, but...how can I put this...
  193.
  194. Ah. You know when you're ordering at the counter? You don't look behind you, do you?
  195.
  196. Well...there's always a bunch of my other regulars rolling their eyes at you. I'm pretty sure they've all been waiting for you to make a move.
  197.
  198. They might even cheer next Friday. [laughs]
  199.
  200. Oh, they're rather shrewd, I bet they'll pick up on it immediately.
  201.
  202. Don't worry about them, hun. You *should* worry about getting home, though. I think it's about time I close up for real now.
  203.
  204. Give me a call tomorrow, ok?
  205.
  206. My number's on the cup.
  207.
  208. I can't believe you didn't notice it after all this time! [laughs]
  209.
  210. Hm?
  211.
  212. No no no, don't you even think about paying. I said those sweets were on me.
  213.
  214. So is this, by the way. [kiss] /really short kiss, like on the cheek/
  215.
  216. [chuckle] Mhm. My treat~
  217.
