  1. Yuru - The current Village Elder, Yuru's career is more of a sentence. He unwillingly rose to take the reigns of the Village Elder after the former Village Elder passed away from the stress of managing such an unruly community.
  2. Without support from Tupper, who was tied up trying to preserve some semblance of morality, Yuru tried desperately to keep order in the town. However, none would listen, as they were constantly distracted by more trite matters such as who was allowed in the most exclusive tavern, The Circle, whose clothes were made of better quality hemp than the other, who was taking their drawcalls in the middle of the night, and who made better sex.
  3. "Distracted...wait! That's the key!"
  4. And so Yuru, consulting the town witch (who has not yet been named), donned the appearance of a woman, along with a woman's voice. His (or should I say, her? We need to use correct pronouns in this year of our king, after all) hair was forever bleached by the demands of her position, however.
  5. She walked into town, dressed in the witch's hand-me-downs that were far too large for her diminutive stature, and demanded that the villagers listen to her. Like moths to a flame, the villagers were distracted by the new voice they had heard. Some even leered at Yuru with lustful eyes, and continue to to this day. Yuru laid down the plans and laws for the village, and like magic, the villagers listened.
  6. This was known as the first Meetup.
  7. "Hmm, we should do this regularly so that order is maintained. Aha, I got it!"
  8. From that day forward, the village would convene regularly every so often at the village square, under Yuru's guidance.
  9. Though they never stopped their debauchery, the villagers began to lay down their own rules, such as not inviting outsiders to the Meetups. Yuru's meetups had become so regular, that the villagers began to do it without her. However, these soon devolved into hotbeds of sin, prompting Yuru to return the next day and lecture like a mother.
  10. Lincoln - Blacksmith who is also the town drunk
  11. Jelly - village retard?
  12. Abraxxas - Town carpenter who fashions furniture and objects influenced by a different land's art
  13. Invalidum - Foreign mercenary who settled down in these lands and shows off his pretty crystal to the village orphans and makes them happy
  14. Meeps - Budding playwright who turned an abandoned quarry into his stage where he hosts weekly prototypes of his latest screenplays
  15. Quackers - Fisherman who has an affinity for waterfowl
  16. Rhyperior - Town hunter who unfortunately loves his quarry so much that he comes into town wearing his kills fresh and reeks of wolf guts. Meets with other hardcore hunters in the woods at night where they fuck each others' kills and each other while wearing them.
  17. Flatchestenthusiast - Rancher who breeds horses with unfortunate mutations such as walking on two legs that cause him to pretty unsuccessful. The mutant horses are good for doing fine and manual labor such as raising the other animals, though, so it works out. Rumored to cavort with the child-like elves of the forest.
  18. Tsukare - The village wiseman, skilled in philosophy and history. Has a fucking huge library of reference material.
  19. Kaori - The local bar owner, has alot of his own creations. You will never see this motherfucker standing.
  20. Gilvek - The young scholar, shy to most non traditional behavior but can be eased into things.
  21. Snoopdank - A mixture of human and dragon. Skilled with drugs, medicines, and other substances. Runs the town chemistry shop as a chemist/shaman. Quite vulgar and cheeky, but not ill of will.
  22. Shortername - One of the town children. Has an abusive mother and an unknown father. Mother does not feed her well, so she is malnourished and considerably shorter than her peers. Hangs out a lot with the village tease.
  23. Johnny002 - Once a former member of a traveling minstrel troupe, set off on his own and found himself in the town of Vargin. However, because nobody gets his songs or dances (he calls it hip hop), he rarely gets enough money to eat at the end of the day, and is thus stuck in Vargin.
  24. Lhun - Main protagonist and hero of the world. Was sent from Earth by the request of the gods of the fantasy world. He helps out every single villager and damsel in distress while finishing all the side-quests and beating the demon lord all at the same time. (Overly confident MC tard)
  25. Tupper - The half-elven town priest, and arguably the oldest living being in the village of Vargin. Cofounded the town and outlived his partner, but has decided to take a backseat in the village's day to day affairs.
  26.
  27. Though he is worshipped and loved by most in town and famous outside of the village, he is not immune to the antics of the villagers , being the target of light-hearted pranks and mockery. With how much he lets it slide off, it is easy to forget that he has massive pull within the clergy and royalty outside of the village. He does have limits, and has had a certain individual thrown into the stocks for repeatedly throwing shit at his church walls.
  28.
  29. Tupper wishes that the denizens of Vargin would follow his sermons and not commit sin, but his teachings are lost in the rancor of everyday village life. "At least they optimize," he says.
  30. Blue Cat and Red Cat - stray town cats that are always sleeping in some corner of town.
  31. Yellow Cat - Another stray cat who recently had a huge litter of kittens, no one knows who the father cat was
  32. Dot - The town scourge, Dot has been playing pranks on everyone in town ever since he was a child. From causing cattle to stampede in town creating mini earthquakes, to stunning merchants' with blinding flashbombs, to even stripping the clothes of noblewomen in broad daylight and exposing their insecurities for all to see. With no one to answer to, and many places to hide, he is as slippery as he is mischievous. However, he is on good terms with the peers he grew up with. At worst, they are indifferent to him.
  33.
  34. One day, his prank on the priest, Tupper, went too far when he threw fresh cow manure at the walls of the church during Sunday mass (which is what Tupper would like to call it. It was more an impromptu bitching fest where the village complained that Tupper and his God didn't do anything to fix the problems they made for themselves). He was sentenced to the stocks for a week, having to piss and shit in front of everyone and be fed and cleaned like livestock. However, when Tupper went out to free him of his bonds out of mercy, he stepped on a fresh pile of shit at the stocks. It would seem that Dot had already evaded his clutches and escaped, leaving a present for Tupper to find. To this day, he is still being hunted down by Tupper's clergy.
  35. ZipZoop - Gnome tinkerer
  36. Digoxin/Spray - A clumsy but headstrong seamstress who has a habit of refashioning clothes but making huge holes in them that she leaves in anyway. Because of this, her clothes seem to magically disappear accidentally (on purpose) in inopportune times, much to the pleasure of the men and women of the village. Soon, she began to design clothes specifically for the purpose of stripping and selling it to unknowing customers who soon found themselves unclothed at random times. It has gotten her into trouble at times, and she has found herself in the stocks due to Tupper's disapproval.
  37.
  38. As further punishment, she was barred from selling clothes and forced to learn the healing arts as S E K K O's apprentice to make herself useful to the town. It still hasn't stopped her from wearing them, however.
  39.
  40. Very Cool Dude - One of the blacksmiths in town, Very Cool Dude is actually less of a blacksmith and more of a salvager. When not working on commissions in town, he ventures into the frontiers of the kingdom, searching for battlefields and skirmishes. When he finds a fallen corpse, he rips whatever armor, weaponry, and valuables they have, and brings it back to his workshop, where he studies the assets and creates functional replicas to sell.
  41. Anon27 - A lesser known, letalone seen member of the council of elders. Akin to the same blood as tupper, they also have quite the affinity for ice. Tinkering is also in their interests, mainly with the work smarter, not harder philosophy.
  42. UndeadOrb - The village clown, with a tad bit of malice thrown in. They seem to take pranks a bit too far at times, even harming some of the local children in the process. Because, it's just a prank bro. Provides entertainment, none the less.
  43. Grommet - The town butcher, this man loves meat i tell ya. Well, seemingly a man. They are actually more machine than anything. Origins unknown.
  44. Hamulily - an eldritch horror that creeps in the night, often seen scaring the town children. It is often seen taking body parts from the other villagers and making them their own, they keep all of the parts in their enormous backpack, and put the most fanciful ones on display for all to see. Be careful of the night, because they will snatch wandering children and take their parts for their own.
  45. Mushypeas- A Vargin town guard that rarely takes off his helmet or seen off duty. Mushypeas prides himself in his skill with the bow and sword, eliminating threats to the village with relative ease. Whether it be boars, wild bears, or a starving, harmless elf child that must actually be a bandit in disguise that deserves to be lit up with 5.56mm arrows, there is nothing that Mushypeas can not protect the village from. In fact, after seeing the antics of his fellow bowman, Rhyperior, carousing and fornicating with his fresh kill in the meetups, he had swore to never come to the meetups, preferring his fellow archers' company and the uncertainty of the wildlands surrounding the village.
  46. However, one by one, his peers, Keytar, Mafuyu, Digoxin, UndeadOrb, Jazkaz, and even a disguised Yuru began to spend more time in the village as less threats to the village came. Soon, it was only him guarding the village's silent borders at night. Silent, save for the sound of cacophonous laughter that rang out from the village square.
  47. After watching on as villagers dressed as red Saints of Christmas incanted a strange spell that shot them all into the air for the villagers to gawk at in horror and amusement, Mushypeas left his lone post to see just what it was he was missing out on.
  48. His first walk into town earned him the confused leers of the villagers. Frozen in fear like a bleeding sow staring at her hunter, he dared not utter a word as he treaded carefully into the Meetup. Villagers at the meetup looked at him as if he was a stranger, save for the town's insignia.
  49. But when he took off his helmet, the maidens of the town began to swoon at the sight of his face, and threw themselves at his feet. He struggled to break free, for he felt his trousers being undone. One of them was even a girl! After the Meetup ended, he asked the Village Elder if this was normal.
  50. "Yes," she (he) replied with a grim voice. "It happens every night."
  51. He would find himself back the next night.
  52. FlameG102 - mother of the trees, trying to grow ever thiccer for the community. Comforting those who need it with cool breezes and a hammock made from the vines of trees. And punishing the naughty with poison ivy and binding them with the roots. They are often seen as a plump dark elf, and may choose to bind you or comfort you, just be weary of their tricks.
  53. HiddenAsylum - A quiet mysterious girl. Nobody really knows the origins but has a kind heart and knows how to make comfy beds.
  54. Just don't try to touch her innapropriately, many have tried but none have told the tale. Keeper of hidden knowledge only she can handle.
  55. Ryder - The aide of the Village Elder, Ryder was appointed to Yuru as soon the last Village Elder passed away.
  56.
  57. Some villagers rumored that she had feelings for this new, young, masculine Village Elder. Tall, polite, and morally straighter than a sword, Ryder hoped to be the aegis that shielded the Village Elder from what they could not handle alone. She had hoped to be strong enough so that they would not fall like others had before them.
  58.
  59. When Yuru came back from the witches' hut a woman, she knew she had failed. Instead of resisting the degeneracy, she had to watch as the Elder gave in to the degeneracy and allowed it to grow, albeit controlled. Having sworn an oath of loyalty, Ryder was bound to support the Elder.
  60.
  61. As her wardrobe began to accommodate more provocative outfits, and her mannerisms more relaxed, Ryder soon found that a village of men pretending to be women pretending to be men was not such a bad thing.
  62. Aqua - A mysterious, youthful blacksmith-witch who comes and goes from Vargin as she pleases. She is said to be quite skilled at magic that can alter one's body and magic that can shape matter, but is actually quite new in its practice and says she is not nearly as talented as she is made out to be. She does not appear to have a home within the village, and she seems to randomly show up on some nights, especially during village festivals and parties.
  63.
  64. Rumor has it that she is not from this world, and that she is apprentice to a more powerful witch of similar origins. Others say she was originally a man but used body and voice-altering magic to shape herself into her current form. Still others think she is some sort of golem.
  65. Aqua maintains that all these rumors are absolutely untrue.
  66. She is sometimes seen with the wolf-hunter and a mysterious doll-like witch, but more often can be seen wandering the outskirts of town alone.
  67. Dal - The arcane tinkerer, Dal has been in Vargin for many years, settling down in the early days of the town. They are a well known community member, and often leads small groupings of other Vargins into new territories for new resources and entertainment. It is known that when Dal made their home in Vargin that they were but only a poor cripple, begging for scraps on the streets, but soon after they found employment in one of Vargin's many local pizzerias. Through hardwork and *Determination* they managed to collect enough money to pay for one of the head wizards to grant them an *occulus rift* allowing them to finally break free of their crippled affliction. These days Dal spends their still working at the same pizzeria, and has become a leader to those that wish to venture into *The Forest.* When not doing either of those they can be found showing off new tricks and creations that they have made in their spare time.
  68. Guno - The hedge wizard lizard, Guno's appearance may be offputting, but he is an invaluable member of the Vargin village. As the sole source of arcane magic in town, Guno is not sought after like the witches, alchemists, clerics, and sorcerers of the town due to the nature of his magic being more...impractical.
  69.
  70. After all, people tend to want Cure Light Wounds casted more often than Prestidigitation. However, when a bought of freak sleet and ice comes around to threaten the pink-wheat crops (he knows why he shouldn't eat any bread made from it) that the town depends on, there's no one else but Guno who can bend the laws of the universe for everyone's benefit.
  71. Mr Duznot Nowhei - A town Baker, Duznot hails from a country in the northern taiga. A series of unfortunate frostfalls forced him to relocate, for a baker must go where the wheat grows.
  72.
  73. Ever since he set up shop, Duznot has enjoyed a steady stream of customers all waiting to pile into his bakery to purchase the finest bread made from the finest pinkwheat. His edible creations are more works of art, being twisted in creative ways that few could ever think of.
  74.
  75. However, some say that it's not the taste of the bread, but Duznot himself that his shop was a howling success. It was all thanks to Duznot's exotic, and sometimes alien, costumes that he put on early on that set him apart from other bakers, ranging from macabre abominations to lampoons of the social elite in Vargin. His most famous one was that of a large, red leaf.
  76.
  77. Some jealous folk detest him for his antics, vainly waiting for someone to declare "The Day of the Rake" and ban him and other taiga-men from Vargin indefinitely.
  78.
  79. But until that day, he will bake.
