  1. Rosenkrantz_GM IT IS THE 41ST MILLENNIUM...
  2. Rosenkrantz_GM The dust and smoke still linger around you, members of the House Guard, and the tech priests brought down to help press on sifting through the rubble looking for survivors. Dozens of servitors and other machinery now repurposed to excavate, and rescue.
  3. Rosenkrantz_GM Foulstone was hit hard. The beasts that you found were, despite their numbers, but the remnants of the force that hit the monastery.
  4. Rosenkrantz_GM The mood of the survivors is that of mourning; the loss of the hammer has taken their spirit.
  5. Makh_Chomun +Anything new?+ He calls over the vox to the Major.
  6. Rosenkrantz_GM +The patrols are being recalled, my Lord. The last of these beasts have been hunted down and destroyed. Unless it is the intent of the Lord-Captain to stay here and search through the canyons and caves, we can call our objective achieved.+
  7. Makh_Chomun +I had hoped we might find the stolen relic.+ He says matter-of-factly. He taps his toes in thought.
  8. Rosenkrantz_GM "Fifty-four survivors, Master Josef," Junior medicae staff hand the reports to the genetor.
  9. Josef "Interesting."
  10. Josef "Patch up the ones you can and sent the critical wounded on the earliest transport to the ships if possible."
  11. Rosenkrantz_GM The survivors range in age and standing in the Order of the Hammer. The attackers made no distinction in their aggressions.
  12. Rosenkrantz_GM "Major Townsend has been given full command over our flyers, Master Josef. I lack the authority to place such a request at this time."
  13. Josef "A Minor Annoyance. Get me a Vox Operator."
  14. Baine_Mort "Gonna be hard to track down the relics if they have been taken off world by now."
  15. Rosenkrantz_GM The medicae staff wave over a young voxman of the House Guard.
  16. Rosenkrantz_GM "At your service, sir."
  17. Josef "Get me communications with Major Townsend."
  18. Rosenkrantz_GM The vox operator nods, and makes adjustments to his voxpack.
  19. Rosenkrantz_GM "All set, sir."
  20. Rosenkrantz_GM One of the excavating groups is interrupted, when the pile of rubble they have been working on practically explodes.
  21. Rosenkrantz_GM From underneath, a massive specimen climbs out in a rage, picking up a slab of rockcrete to crush the servitors around it.
  22. Josef +This is Chief Chymist Hesh GM - #32-603 calling for Major Townsend.+
  23. Rosenkrantz_GM +Major Townsend here.+
  24. Josef +Major Townsend, I require Transports for medi-evac to The Consequence."
  25. Rosenkrantz_GM There are calls and shouts as the beast is revealed behind the dust.
  26. Makh_Chomun turns to the rubble explosion, hefting his hammer as he walks towards whatever is causing it.
  27. Baine_Mort grabs his heavy bolter and moves up with Makh. "Looks like we got a Ork Nob."
  28. Rosenkrantz_GM The roar of the beast drowns out any sound around it. You can feel its vibration in your body.
  29. Makh_Chomun Makh roars back at the thing and starts running at it, his thunder hammer held aloft.
  30. Rosenkrantz_GM Survivors flee in a panic, House Guard scattered, try to form up.
  31. Rosenkrantz_GM +Negative+ Mj. Townsend's reply finally comes
  32. Josef +Do as I command, Major Townsend. I have higher authority. Now if you excuse me, I have a Xenos to deal with.+
  33. Josef rushes to met up with Lord Chomun and the others.
  34. Rosenkrantz_GM Not a second later, the sound of autocannons are followed by the impacts of massive rounds all around the beast, felling the creature, legs obliterated below the knees.
  35. Rosenkrantz_GM Townsend's Cutter, you realize as it flies by.
  36. Rosenkrantz_GM Using its massive arms, the damnable creature continues to mobilize.
  37. Baine_Mort "Well looks like he still wants to put up a fight."
  38. Makh_Chomun Tough, he thinks to himself as he continues running at the thing.
  39. Josef yells at the distance "What distraction am I missing, my Lords?"
  40. [ERROR] The command β€œroll” is not known to the server.
  41. Rosenkrantz_GM The Lord-Protector's hammer pummels the creature's chest with a sickening thud. Despite how massive the greenskin is, it is lifted by the impace, falling on its back.
  42. Rosenkrantz_GM It takes a swing at Chomun from its awkward position, missing its target entirely.
  43. Baine_Mort yells back, "We got a Ork Nob Josef."
  44. Josef rushes forwards and says "Interesting."
  45. Baine_Mort hands off his Heavy Bolter to Mike and draws his power sword.
  46. Makh_Chomun roars out at the beast, marveling at how it isn't dead yet.
  47. Josef swings into his chest and screaming in laughter as the Eviscerator rips and tears into the Nob's internal organs.
  48. Josef "Burn the corpses. We don't need more Xenos breeding on this planet."
  49. Rosenkrantz_GM +My Lords, the Astropathic Choir has informed me that they are deciphering a message from the Aurorae at this moment.+
  50. Rosenkrantz_GM By the sound of Titus' voice, it seems urgent.
  51. Makh_Chomun +I take it we'll be leaving soon, Titus?+
  52. Rosenkrantz_GM +Lord Wilhelm has intelligence on the possible whereabouts of the relic+
  53. Makh_Chomun Huh, he thinks to himself.
  54. Baine_Mort +Thank you Titus, we should be on our way up to the ship shortly then.+
  55. Rosenkrantz_GM Transports are arranged for the survivors, and for your own group.
  56. Rosenkrantz_GM Titus awaits you in a staff briefing room once you arrive. Lady Vivian is already there, with young Marius nearby, reading from a tome recovered from the Sacred Heart.
  57. Vivian quietly sits at Marius' side, reading from her own book of choice as she waited.
  58. Baine_Mort "Hello Vivian, how has Marius been doing under your guidance?"
  59. -->| Michael (chatzilla@sux-7A43C419.hsd1.mi.comcast.net) has joined #rosenkrantz
  60. =-= Michael is now known as Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz
  61. Rosenkrantz_GM Marius looks up, as you walk in. "Master Mort! I want to shoot the big guns!"
  62. Vivian "He's quite the bright little student. Very inquisitive, and very sharp." As she spoke, she'd reach out and give Marius a playful little pinch to his cheek. "Speaking of guns, Mort. Guess who's going to need a few lessons?"
  63. Baine_Mort "Really now, I think you will need to start small before you can uses the bigger ones."
  64. Josef "I require a flamebath."
  65. Baine_Mort looks to Josef, "That can be arranged."
  66. Josef is covered in blood and vile of the Xenos.
  67. Makh_Chomun has his armor taken by the adjutant for cleaning and maintenance. He dresses in his Lord-Protector clothes as he joins everyone on the bridge.
  68. Baine_Mort "So were is our load captain at?"
  69. Makh_Chomun "His quarters more than likely."
  70. Josef goes to sterilize his armor before returning in his cleaner robes and armor.
  71. Rosenkrantz_GM "The Lord-Captain has been released by the Medicae Staff."
  72. Rosenkrantz_GM "He is back to his old self, I am told." Titus adds.
  73. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz Enters, looking slightly slimmer and more gaunt, but carries himself with urgancy
  74. Vivian "Welcome back to the world of the Living, Lord-Captain."
  75. Rosenkrantz_GM Marius points right at Friedrich. "He's the Captain?!"
  76. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "When did we adopt an urchin?"
  77. Baine_Mort "Yes Marius, that is the "Captain"."
  78. Vivian gives Marius a gentle nudge, then moves to stand up, before gesturing to the young boy. "Lord Captain Friedrich, meet Young Lord Marius. Wilhelm tasked us to look after him."
  79. Josef "Correct, Young Marius. Incorrect, Lord Friedrich."
  80. Rosenkrantz_GM Marius gets up from his seat, and walks up to Friedrich to give a courtly bow, "Marius von Rosenkrantz, at your service" he says in a practiced voice.
  81. Makh_Chomun "Glad you finally decided to show up, Lord Captain." Makh says neutrally.
  82. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "I'm feeling a very warm welcome, but we have work to do."
  83. Vivian settles back down into her seat, then pats the chair beside her for Marius to join her. Then she'd look to Titus, attentively.
  84. Makh_Chomun "Then you know of what's happened these past months?"
  85. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Vaguely and still be filled in, It seems a Kaptin Graffletz has taken our hammer, and might soon be massing much larger forces by allying with another warboss."
  86. Baine_Mort "Well, I guess we are going to have to stop him before he can do that then."
  87. Makh_Chomun "Kaptin Graffletz?"
  88. Rosenkrantz_GM "All we know is the first reports of this creature came out of the Undred-Undred Teef; a place infested with other such 'Freebootez' - piratical xenos of the worst kind. They plague isolated settlements, and vulnerable merchants."
  89. Rosenkrantz_GM Titus seems to speak from experience.
  90. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Seems this Warboss is heading to a knightworld named Fascen, seeming to want to impress some warboss there, Titus what information do we have on this world?"
  91. Makh_Chomun One of Makh's hands balls into a fist at the mention of pirates, xenos pirates at that. "They will pay for this."
  92. Rosenkrantz_GM "Our information is rather outdated, I am afraid. All we know is the basics. It is an isolated Knight World in the Drusus Marches. Battelfleet Calixis hasn't patroled the system in some three years. Or, five, considering our warp-time delays."
  93. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Make course."
  94. Rosenkrantz_GM "What of the survivors?"
  95. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "How many are there?"
  96. Vivian sits back in her chair, taking out her dataslate, her lips pursing a bit as she tapped the screen.. That name was more than familiar, but she couldn't quite place it. It was right at the tip of her tongue.
  97. Rosenkrantz_GM "Master Josef will have the more recent figures. But as I understand it, the rescue efforts are still underway."
  98. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "I want teams working double time, we have little time to waste here."
  99. Josef "Correct." He hold out the medical reports in his hands.
  100. Rosenkrantz_GM "The pressing question, Lord-Captain will be the fate of the survivors beyond their rescue. Are we to leave them in the Monastery with some security detail?"
  101. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Makh, do we have the forces to spare?"
  102. Makh_Chomun "We have some left over from what I recruited from Ntharis. A little over a hundred could be spared."
  103. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Good, have them stay here and help with the recovery effort."
  104. Vivian "If need be for motivation.. I'm fairly certain, last I recall, there was a few bounties placed on this Kaptin's head. At least two Rogue Trader houses and one Merchant Concern have made public bounties placed on Kaptin Graffeltz for the damage he has caused. So the money certainly would be good."
  105. Vivian "Granted, my information is a bit.. Dated."
  106. Vivian "But all the same. If he's still running around, then there is most likely a bounty on his head."
  107. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Is there any imperial entities that we can reach out to for assistance?"
  108. Makh_Chomun relays the order to Downfield, knowing she'll take care of it in a quick efficient matter.
  109. Rosenkrantz_GM "The Dynasty's contacts are best held to account for any debts in the Calixis Sector."
  110. Rosenkrantz_GM The transfers of crew are carried out, with the Ntharis Guardsmen replacing the House Guard planetside. It isn't much, but until the Dynasty can afford to send more resources, it will have to be enough.
  111. Rosenkrantz_GM With the faithful and their new protectors in place, the Consequence makes for the edge of the system, past the dead hulls of the monitor ships, to engage its Warp Engines. A series of jumps sees you leave the Koronus Expanse, through the dreaded Maw, and into the space approaching Port Wander.
  112. Rosenkrantz_GM It is the first true Imperial structure you have seen in years. An eternal fixture, reminding all who pass that the Emperor's gaze reaches this points, and looks out beyond.
  113. Rosenkrantz_GM "A proper Naval installation. Emperor be praised." Titus says to himself
  114. Rosenkrantz_GM "Captain, it appears the Rosenkrantz dock is occupied."
  115. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz Quietly asks a nearby crewmember to have a message sent to a certain animal dealer, inquiring about a bird
  116. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "By whom?"
  117. Rosenkrantz_GM Titus walks to the Etherics station, looking for the answre.
  118. Baine_Mort is at his station with his Fox who is resting.
  119. Rosenkrantz_GM He turns.
  120. Rosenkrantz_GM "Your Uncle, my Lord."
  121. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Very well, find other docking."
  122. Rosenkrantz_GM ++Docking fees will be applied on arrival. Proceed to dock arm Cerebus-9++
  123. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Emperor damned docking fees." he mumbles to himself
  124. Makh_Chomun Makh visibly brightens at the mention of Wilhelm. It'll be good to see the Dynastic Lord in person again.
  125. Vivian was less than pleased, to say the least. Shaking her head, she'd then look over to Marius and speak up softly. "Young Lord, how goes your reading? Are you enjoying your book?"
  126. Rosenkrantz_GM It is something of a relief, when the docking procedure runs as smoothly as that of a naval installation's. Every voidsman does his part, and in no-time the tug-barges aid the Consequence into its exact position along the tight docking area you've been assigned - nothing like the Dynasty's more comfortable docking arms.
  127. Baine_Mort "I mean do you want me to talk to them my Lord Captain, and get them to lower the fees?"
  128. Makh_Chomun "Wouldn't do much," Makh suggests. "Besides we haven't the time to waste on haggling fees."
  129. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz Prepares to exit, taking time to change into his best apparel and assembling all his equipment.
  130. Baine_Mort makes his way to change into his Navy Uniform.
  131. Rosenkrantz_GM The Consequence's Plasma Drives finally rest, and the transfer umbilicals are connected and air-sealed.
  132. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Prepare to ahead ashore."
  133. Rosenkrantz_GM Marius appears extatic, having stood in awe of the station on approach.
  134. Makh_Chomun Makh has the usual party of HG organized for the Lord-Captain's outing. He deigns to bring Downfield this time given they would probably be meeting with Lord Wilhelm.
  135. Vivian quietly ushers Marius to get ready, doing so herself.
  136. Rosenkrantz_GM Downfield has the House Guard fall in, her dress uniform fitting to perfection.
  137. Rosenkrantz_GM Marius emerges wearing his best robes in the Dynastic colors, the book of St. Lucius under his arm.
  138. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Damn I will never tire of seeing Rosenkrantz House Guard standing at attention." he says to Makh
  139. Makh_Chomun "Indeed, it's a proud sight. Something I've been proud to be apart of in it's creation."
  140. Baine_Mort "So, think we will meet Wilhelm's wife?" Mort asks Chomun.
  141. Rosenkrantz_GM All gathered, the air-seals open up. Port Wander's atmosphere flooding in with a gust that winds down to an easy breeze.
  142. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz pats him on the soldier 'You've done a lot to make them what they are."
  143. Vivian sighs, standing behind Marius, all dressed up in proper attire.. Though she still wears her Chameleoline Cloak. Drawing its hood up, she'd prefer to just.. Stay out of sight, for now.
  144. Josef appears at the last minute. This time wearing bloodier robes than before.
  145. Rosenkrantz_GM The docking section's 'downgraded' nature is evident once you enter. Merchants and lowly navy scum linger there.
  146. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Have the child walk with me."
  147. Rosenkrantz_GM You pass a Bosun and his press crew beating drunken voidsmen, dragging them to their ships for service.
  148. Makh_Chomun "Hmm? Oh sorry, Mr. Mort. I'd say more than likely. It's been over two years since we last saw him." Makh answer Baine in an apologetic tone.
  149. Vivian "..Young Lord, pay close attention to your surroundings, and stick close to Lord Captain Friedrich." She'd lowly mumble to the young man. Otherwise she'd gently guide him to step closer to Friedrich.
  150. Rosenkrantz_GM Marius walks near Friedrich, though his eyes are drawn to the spectacle off to the side.
  151. Josef "There is safety in numbers, but also a bigger target."
  152. Rosenkrantz_GM "Why is he hitting them?"
  153. Rosenkrantz_GM B
  154. Josef "Disciplinary actions."
  155. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "They work on the ships, and have stayed at port to long, so he is making them go back."
  156. Rosenkrantz_GM "Because they've been very bad, laddy! HAHAHA", a drunken port scum says, getting altogether too close to Marius, who bumps into Friedrich as he's startled.
  157. Rosenkrantz_GM He is promptly struck in the temple by the but of a House Guardsman's weapon.
  158. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Enough, let us continue." he says, straightening his clothes and promptly beginning to walk
  159. Rosenkrantz_GM You finally arrive at a checkpoint of sorts, where men are inspected before being allowed in, or denied entry.
  160. Makh_Chomun shakes his head.
  161. Rosenkrantz_GM As you approach, the guards in their posts move the men on the queue out of the way, and let you in.
  162. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz begins to chat with Marius, trying to learn more about him
  163. Rosenkrantz_GM A servoskull glides towards you as you make your way through the station, hovering just a few meters in front of Friedrich.
  164. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Does the navy interest you Marius?" he says, before attempting to ignore the skull
  165. Vivian looks towards the servoskull, raising a brow.
  166. Rosenkrantz_GM "I like your ship!" he says lifting his book up and waving it around, as though it were the Consequence in motion.
  167. Baine_Mort looks to Vivian, "So I was able to get some training in with Marius on how to uses different fire arms during our trip here."
  168. Rosenkrantz_GM "Lord Chomun says Uncle Wilhelm's ship is /bigger/! Can we go see it?"
  169. Vivian "Good. Very good. How did he do, for his lessons?"
  170. Josef "Ranged weapons are effective, but nothing beats the use of a close combat. It is more satisfying."
  171. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "The Consequence is a great ship, I can't wait to show you the Praeliator Aurorae, that's Wilhelms
  172. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz ."
  173. Makh_Chomun "It is a grand, beautiful vessel, little Maruis."
  174. Rosenkrantz_GM The servoskull's red eye-glow "blinks" several times, and gets closer.
  175. Baine_Mort "Not to bad for a first timer, though I plan to work him up the bigger guns over time." He then looks to Josef, "Says the guy who couldn't take down the Penitence Engine in one go."
  176. Vivian quietly moves forward and steps in front of the servoskull- bringing a hand up to try to gently push it back.
  177. Rosenkrantz_GM +FOLLOW THE SERVOSKULL+ an altogether too loud message is spoken through its laudhailder... in Master Ziel's voice.
  178. Josef "It was the will of the Machine God and the strength of the machine spirit to take the beast down."
  179. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "I was about to shoot you Ziel."
  180. Josef [binary] "Oh for fuck's sake."
  181. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Very well, come along Marius."
  182. Makh_Chomun flicks the servoskull with a thick finger. "Greetings Ziel."
  183. Rosenkrantz_GM +YOU BLASPHEME AGAINST THE OMNISSIAH, CAPTAIN+
  184. Baine_Mort "And lots of bolter fire." Mort then looks to the servoskull, "Oh hey Ziel, long time no see."
  185. Josef "He means no disrespect, Master Ziel."
  186. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Maybe when you grow up you can join navy too Marius." he says, ignoring the machine people
  187. Rosenkrantz_GM Ziel, or rather his servoskull, takes you up towards the upper levels, towards the area more familiar to you. Here, wealthier merchant houses do business, and more senior naval officers spend their time in furlough.
  188. Rosenkrantz_GM "Can I have a ship, too?"
  189. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Most definitely, as long as you work very hard."
  190. Josef "The Dynasty has several dialect ships."
  191. Rosenkrantz_GM "I can work hard! I will work hard like... like... like Saint Cognatious!"
  192. Rosenkrantz_GM You find yourselves, then, approaching a set of guilded doors guarded by House Guardsmen.
  193. Rosenkrantz_GM They stand at attention as soon as you approach.
  194. Josef "Just don't start a death cult when you move into the Omnissiah's fold."
  195. Rosenkrantz_GM +DON'T BLASPHEME, HESH-GM - #32-603+
  196. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "I'd like to see my Uncle."
  197. Josef "It was a humorous jest, Master Ziel."
  198. Makh_Chomun "Alright Ziel, calm down."
  199. Rosenkrantz_GM One of the Guards knocks on the door twice with his weapon.
  200. Baine_Mort "Hey Ziel, when are we going to finish that game of Card of the Imperium?"
  201. Rosenkrantz_GM The doors swing open, pulled by servants on the inside.
  202. Josef leans and whispers into Lady Vivian's hear "That outdated rusted toaster is going to be the death of me."
  203. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz strides into the room, looking for his Uncle
  204. Rosenkrantz_GM There are several tables in the chamber. On the right, a group of noble ladies sit together, waited upon by two servants. On the far end of the room, left of an empty stage, Wilhelm sits with noblemen, in the colors of merchant house patricians. He has a wide smile on his face as he tells them a tale.
  205. Rosenkrantz_GM He rises from his seat to emphasize a point, or punchline, and slams his hands on the table.
  206. Rosenkrantz_GM As he looks to the side in an exaggerated gesture, he catches sight of you.
  207. Rosenkrantz_GM "Friedrich!"
  208. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Uncle." he says, straightening himself
  209. Rosenkrantz_GM He steps aside from his chair, and the rest of the men on the table rise from their seats.
  210. Makh_Chomun strides in with the group, at the head of the troop of HG, Downfield at his side.
  211. Rosenkrantz_GM "Thank the Emperor you haven't aged half to death. Those warp dilations can be nasty business." he approaches your group.
  212. Rosenkrantz_GM One of the ladies at the other table rises, and approaches Wilhelm, stopping at his side.
  213. Rosenkrantz_GM Her hair is fixed in a high bun, a light, somehow shining brown in this light. Her face is fair, her eyes a pale blue.
  214. Rosenkrantz_GM "Friedrich, Marius... meet your Aunt Mary," Wilhelm says, putting his arm around her waist.
  215. Rosenkrantz_GM The House Guard stand firm at attention.
  216. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Good to meet you." he says, nodding respectfully
  217. Vivian kept quiet, keeping close to the doorframe, her arms crossed as she would simply watch. There really wasn't much to be said or done, while introductions were made.
  218. Rosenkrantz_GM She takes a step closer, and kisses you on the cheek. "And you, dear nephew."
  219. Rosenkrantz_GM Marius gives his usual cordial bow, and says his line, "Marius von Rosenkrantz, at your service."
  220. Makh_Chomun can't help but smile. Wilhelm's wife was quite a sight, he was glad he finally nabbed a beauty.
  221. Rosenkrantz_GM "What a handsome young man! It is my pleasure Lord Marius," she says, giving him a kiss on his forehead.
  222. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Uncle we have much to discuss."
  223. Rosenkrantz_GM "Mary, dear, can you see to Marius while we discuss business?"
  224. Rosenkrantz_GM "Your men can be at ease here, Mahk," Wilhelm adds.
  225. Rosenkrantz_GM Mary acquiesces, taking Marius to her table where he is showered with praise by all the ladies there present.
  226. Rosenkrantz_GM Wilhelm shows you to the table, and asks you sit.
  227. Rosenkrantz_GM He doesn't wait for the last of you to find your seats before he says, "it's a mess."
  228. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz takes a seat, preparing his list of questions for Wilhelm
  229. Makh_Chomun nods, waving and signalling to the House Guard to stand down and spread out.
  230. Josef "I'm afraid sitting is impossible for this unit."
  231. Rosenkrantz_GM "A damnable mess, Friedrich."
  232. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "What has happened?"
  233. Rosenkrantz_GM "The Bishop sent by the Ecclesiarchy is no doubt dead, and the Hammer gone. Fascen is a quagmire that not even Scintilla cares to save from the greenskins."
  234. Rosenkrantz_GM "It is a warzone," Wilhelm says, signaling for a servant standing in the corner of the chamber.
  235. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "I can go get the hammer Uncle."
  236. Rosenkrantz_GM "A warzone," he repeats as the servant arrives, placing charts and maps of the area down.
  237. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "It's about time the Consequence has been tested."
  238. Rosenkrantz_GM "The Imperial Guard has been grinding away for over a year, and Battlefleet Calixis takes losses every month trying to break their hold from the planet's orbit."
  239. Vivian would prefer to stay where she was, anyways. She was close enough. Though her gaze would occasionally cut towards Marius, a light frown forming. Hearing the discussion, she'd quietly tap a fingertip against her arm, waiting for now.
  240. Rosenkrantz_GM "Scintilla is at a breaking point. The Sector Governor is already contemplating pulling out, to cut his losses."
  241. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Would Calixis be willing to help us?"
  242. Baine_Mort looks over the charts and data about Fascen.
  243. Rosenkrantz_GM "I couldn't say. In the eyes of the decision-makers, this is quickly becoming a conflict they cannot win."
  244. Baine_Mort "What about the Adeptus Astartes?"
  245. Rosenkrantz_GM "As well-connected as and far-reaching as our contacts may be, I'm afraid I cannot think of a Chapter with which we can pull any strings."
  246. Rosenkrantz_GM "Though, did you not do a favor for one on... Chidras, was it?"
  247. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "We could co"
  248. Baine_Mort "Yes we did, hey Chomun, what Chapter of the Astartes was that again?"
  249. Makh_Chomun "With due respect, m'lord. I would not call on....them. They do not seem the type to help us...lesser mortals." He frowns remembering that dreadful day.
  250. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "We could contact them...." he says, remembering is near duel with the Space Marine
  251. Makh_Chomun "The Knights Teutonic."
  252. Rosenkrantz_GM "My Lord..." one of the nobles at the table interjects.
  253. Vivian finally moves, stepping towards the table. Taking her seat, she'd settle in and idly bring her hand up to rest on the tabletop, her fingertips lightly tapping the surface. "..Curious, Lord Wilhelm. What about the Young Lord? Will he be staying with you, while we're addressing this issue?"
  254. Vivian "You couldn't be serious about letting him staying with us while we do this."
  255. Rosenkrantz_GM Wilhelm lifts a finger, stopping the noble. "He must."
  256. Rosenkrantz_GM "The Consequence is not known outside of the Koronus Expanse, save for those in the Imperial Navy who have encountered her. As far as the rest of the Calixis Sector is concerned, the Consequence remains a lost ship."
  257. Rosenkrantz_GM "You were saying, Lord Winnel?"
  258. Rosenkrantz_GM "My Lord, the Knights Teutonic have something of a reputation."
  259. Rosenkrantz_GM "Go on..."
  260. Rosenkrantz_GM "It is not wise to indebt oneself to their Chapter."
  261. Vivian opened her mouth to protest.. Though she'd instead shake her head and sigh. Giving a light shrug, she'd look to the side. Now she could only feel pity for the child. Having to be dragged along like this!
  262. Rosenkrantz_GM Several of the others on the table nod at this.
  263. Rosenkrantz_GM "Rathes. Is this world familiar to any of you?"
  264. Makh_Chomun "Though I don't know the particulars of the Chapter, I'd be inclined to agree, the way they acted in my brief meeting with them leads me to believe that slighting them in any way would not benefit the dynasty by any degree. Best not to contact them at all."
  265. Josef "Rathes? The Forgeworld that was completely destroyed?"
  266. Rosenkrantz_GM "The events were reviewed by every ranking member of the Imperial Navy, and became something of a legend to those of us with the curiosity to find out more. It wasn't the secessionists who destroyed the planet."
  267. Rosenkrantz_GM "The tech-priest no doubt knows more."
  268. Josef "It was subject to Exterminatuds."
  269. Rosenkrantz_GM "The Imperial Guard was still on the planet. It was the Space Marines who carried it out nonetheless."
  270. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "That's monstrous."
  271. Rosenkrantz_GM Wilhelm's expression turns into one of deep concern.
  272. Josef "The Master Chapter of the Knights Teutonic did not take too kindly of the attacks of the Heretek in their territory."
  273. Rosenkrantz_GM "And you interracted with these Astartes?" Wilhelm looks at all of you.
  274. Rosenkrantz_GM "If the Emperor is loving, they will have forgotten you" a noble comments.
  275. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "One nearly killed me, if I remember correctly."
  276. Vivian would say nothing. Just bringing her hand up, she'd rest her cheek on her fingertips, watching quietly for now.
  277. Makh_Chomun "Only I and Lord Friedrich did." Makh says neutrally.
  278. Rosenkrantz_GM "What is clear is that Fascen is where the Orks are focusing their campaign."
  279. Rosenkrantz_GM "The relic will be there."
  280. Baine_Mort "Well then, we are limited to are options then." Mort thinks for a moment. "Unless we can somehow sneak pass the Ork fleet."
  281. Rosenkrantz_GM "Be cautious about your movements. The Orks are likely not acting alone. The location of Foulstone was known to only a few."
  282. Rosenkrantz_GM "Someone is aiding them."
  283. Makh_Chomun "An enemy of the dynasty perhaps?"
  284. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz tightens in shock for a moment, frantically looking aroumd
  285. Rosenkrantz_GM "Friedrich?" Wilhelm looks at you.
  286. Rosenkrantz_GM "Are you unwell?"
  287. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "No! I mean, i'm fine."
  288. Rosenkrantz_GM Wilhelm pours you a drink.
  289. Rosenkrantz_GM "Here, calm your nerves."
  290. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz accepts the drink with a nod
  291. Rosenkrantz_GM Wilhelm gives Josef a certain accusatory look.
  292. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Well, could we shift the tide of the conflict if dynastical troops were involved?
  293. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "
  294. Josef shrugs.
  295. Makh_Chomun Makh tries to catch Wilhelm's eye, holding his hand in a sign of Dynastic Cant for private talk later.
  296. Rosenkrantz_GM "It would be a dreadful campaign, Friedrich. Pouring resources into the myre for what?"
  297. Rosenkrantz_GM "A lost Knight World, ravaged by war."
  298. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Well send the Consequence, we can retrieve the Hammer, and with a single ship we may be able to sneak past the blockade."
  299. Rosenkrantz_GM "With enough force, you could punch through the blockade, and fend off from their forces on the ground. I do not doubt the ability of the House Guard in that regard. But a prolonged campaign..."
  300. Rosenkrantz_GM Wilhelm rises.
  301. Rosenkrantz_GM "Enough force..." he says with a sigh.
  302. Rosenkrantz_GM "I will go with you. The Aurorae, and the Consequence both, and whatever aid we can gather."
  303. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz frowns at the suggestion
  304. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Are...are you sure that's wise?"
  305. Makh_Chomun "A sure strike, like a fast hammer blow. Yesss." Makh relishes the idea.
  306. Rosenkrantz_GM "The reports are grim. Kaptin Graffletz alone has a dozen ships. We will need to send everything we have."
  307. Josef "What other options is available?"
  308. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz has begun to turn ever more pale, a dark expression on his face
  309. Rosenkrantz_GM "If we deploy enough forces, I can convince the Sector authorities that we are in it for the long-haul. Perhaps I can sway them to reinforce the offensive further."
  310. Josef "Do you require assistance Lord Friedrich?"
  311. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Uncle this isn't a safe mission, we can't lose you."
  312. Vivian "..Regardless. Make sure all your affairs are sorted, before we embark." She'd idly chime out. Moving to stand, she'd turn and start to leave, intent on heading back to The Consequence.
  313. Makh_Chomun "The Emperor smiles upon his truest servants, m'lord."
  314. Rosenkrantz_GM "Mahk, you have my authority to press forces into service. Visit penal stations, or planets, or empty this station if you need to. Raise forces for this offensive. Baine, call your contacts in the Navy and elsewhere. Spread the word that the Dynasty will handsomely reward any Free Captains willing to provide transport to mobilize resources for the war."
  315. Rosenkrantz_GM "Josef, Ziel will be with me. So it will fall to you to speak to the Adeptus Mechanicus. Remind them of our ancient compact, and their obligations. We will need their aid."
  316. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "Uncle it's important you stay away from the fighting....I have a bad feeling about this."
  317. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz begins to sound a little frantic as Wilhelm gives out orders
  318. Makh_Chomun "Aye Lord!"
  319. Baine_Mort "As you command my Lord, I will contact every one I can and rally them to our aid."
  320. Rosenkrantz_GM "Friedrich, we must fight for what is ours."
  321. Josef "Understood, Admiral Wilhelm."
  322. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz shakes his head
  323. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz "When shall we leave?"
  324. Rosenkrantz_GM "Besides..." he grins, "a Knight World indebted to the Dynasty?"
  325. Rosenkrantz_GM "At once, the Aurorae is being refit. But we will part in two days' time."
  326. Rosenkrantz_GM "Gentlemen. Every man to his duty," Wilhelm rises.
  327. Rosenkrantz_GM "Mahk, stay behind."
  328. Captain_Friedrich_Rosenkrantz stands rather aggressively, stalking out of the room
  329. Makh_Chomun holds his arms behind back and does as instructed.
  330. Rosenkrantz_GM As soon as everyone leaves, Wilhelm sits back down.
  331. Rosenkrantz_GM "What ails my nephew?"
  332. Makh_Chomun "I don't know the details, Wilhelm. But it has become apparent since that time where the warp dilation was at it's worst that Friedrich has been having dreams. Dreams that have haunted him to the point that he rarely left his room. In fact most of his confidants including me had not even seen or interacted with him up until several days ago before we arrived here in Port Wander."
  333. Makh_Chomun "Not even Vivian has been in contact since Rosenkrantz_GM "Is he being treated?"
  334. Josef "Define treatment."
  335. Makh_Chomun "He has forgone it. Refusing even the personal ministrations of the Magos Biologis. Given the nature of this I did not think it wise for me to override his authority. It would have had terrible consequences on the morale. If I did not act as I should have I apologize, this is rather out of my means."
  336. Rosenkrantz_GM "Inform that /Magos/ that if something happens to Friedrich on account of a lack of treatment, I will accept Master Ziel's recommendations for punishment."
  337. Makh_Chomun "With your authority, it shall be done."
  338. Rosenkrantz_GM "Now... raise me an army." this began, it's that bad."
  339. Rosenkrantz_GM "Is he being treated?"
  340. Josef "Define treatment."
  341. Makh_Chomun "He has forgone it. Refusing even the personal ministrations of the Magos Biologis. Given the nature of this I did not think it wise for me to override his authority. It would have had terrible consequences on the morale. If I did not act as I should have I apologize, this is rather out of my means."
  342. Rosenkrantz_GM "Inform that /Magos/ that if something happens to Friedrich on account of a lack of treatment, I will accept Master Ziel's recommendations for punishment."
  343. Makh_Chomun "With your authority, it shall be done."
  344. Rosenkrantz_GM "Now... raise me an army."
