  1. Route/Strategy:
  2. Obviously get infighting going between the barons/hell knights and the cyberdemons. I'll take out the chaingunners while staying away from the arch-viles by just moving along the fence. I might SSG the cyberdemons while they are infighting if they are winning the fight. Once everything is dead then I'll kill the cage viles with SSG and the last 3 with rockets.
  3.
  4. I grab the next megasphere immediately unless I have over 150 health or so since I have no use for it later. Then fire the SSG after activating the first switch, run around on the left side and wait a short moment so the revenants will move out of the closet with the 2nd switch. Then activate that immediately and then straight to the 3rd switch where it's usually safe enough. From here I can kill the arch-viles and hopefully get the cyberdemon infighting with the revenants, if not I can kill them with splash. One can also just move on to the next area.
  5.
  6. Next fight can be activated with the SSG without having to lower the wall, so I'll just use rockets from the outside. One could also do this then go back and clean up the previous fight while everything teleports in and gathers up for better rocket splash damage.
  7.
  8. Going up the elevator is one of the more dangerous fights. I start with the imps to create some room and I'll try to stand by the wall as long as possible before I go behind the megasphere. Need to be really careful about cyberdemon rockets, just have to hold on for a little while and try to clear the path on the right. After a few seconds it's easy to get by and from there one just needs to avoid doing anything stupid. Best to let the cyberdemon infight as much as possible as he takes quite a bit of damage from it as well.
  9.
  10. Pinky room I'll just stand on the closest teleporter spot, arch-viles will be released after 40 seconds, so I'll move out after 35 seconds or so and fire rockets towards them. There's a megasphere coming up so the megasphere in this fight can be picked up whenever.
  11.
  12. Then a bit of a run through the main area until reaching the next fight where I'll fire 2 rockets on the revenants before just sitting in the corner with the rocket launcher. Eventually switch to plasma rifle, but I still try to stick to the corner so the revenants won't move out, usually it works out.
  13.
  14. The following fight I'll plasma the imps and try to get the cyberdemon infighting. Just need to watch out for those cyberdemon rockets mostly, rockets on the hell knights once the imps are dead then plasma the cyberdemon. Coming up just some rockets on the imps until it's clear then plasma or SSG the chaingunners.
  15.
  16. For the platforming section I rush the mancubus, kill the chaingunner and just drop down to the raising platform where I can easily hide from the revenants and arch-viles. Just need to be careful about hitting an arch-vile that's infighting with a revenant or taking unnecessary projectiles.
  17.
  18. Now there's 3 choices of where to go, I'll go straight to the arch-vile/lost souls and use a vile to get the BFG. Here I'll just sit in the corner where the arch-viles come from and wait until the exit switch is available and most of the lost souls are dead. Then I'll just run outside and rocket the lost souls until the viles arrive. Need to be careful to not kill all the arch-viles or push them into one of the pits. Only need one though so I'll wait for them to come outside first. Once one is left I'll go to red key switch, stand on top of the wall and turn to a certain angle. Once I see or hear the arch-vile attack I will switch to the shotgun, once the weapon switch animation is done I will start moving. As long as I don't mess up the timing the jump usually works.
  19.
  20. So I now have a BFG for the next 2 areas + the red key fight making it a bit easier. None of these fights were that difficult without the BFG, but it saves quite a bit of time at red key. From the cacodemon/revenant/vile/pain elemental fight I'll fire 2 BFGs first before I activate the first switch, this way I'll be able to kill everything in the cage quickly. Then I'll just activate the switches so that I can leave and use rockets on the cacodemons from the outside while saving cells for the pain elementals.
  21.
  22. The graveyard I'll usually have 200/200 with an extra megasphere if I leave the blue armor by the lost souls. Ideally I'll pick it up at the end. I can kill both pair of viles before starting the fight. I can also activate the switches through the wall before the fight starts. The entrance doesn't open up until after a while though so I'll have to survive for a bit. I'll start by taking out the 3 arch-viles that spawn in first, then I'll just sit back for a while before I move up towards the megasphere side. From there I'll go up besides one of the trees and run all the way to the back where I'll be safe. After some time I'll just leave and let infighting do most the work before cleaning up.
  23.
  24. For the central room I'll just rush the arch-viles all 3 times with the BFG and circle around with rockets for everything else. No need to save the cells, just need to be careful to not get locked in or run into the hive mother.
  25.
  26. Outside fight is very easy, I wait 35 seconds by red key switch before I run out along the wall where there is a bit of space so it's easy to get through. Then I'll just circle around the masterminds and go across the wooden beams to get everything up towards the BFG. Once the water is raised and the cyberdemons teleport in I'll just cirlce the entire area and take out the cacodemons in the back or any other wandering monster. There's lots of cells so no need to save them.
  27.
  28. Inside the building I'll start by going down into the corner by the elevator to deal with the viles, from there I'll move up and grab some cells before I stand behind one of the upper pillars. Next I'll go down to the elevator and just use all my rockets from up top. Once rockets run out I'll just BFG my way through where ever the hive mothers are not standing. Cleanup with BFG afterwards, need to be careful about not having spectres block you from behind while you try to kill the hive mothers though.
  29.
  30. Next part I'll go for the switch behind the revenants before going back for the switch behind the hell knights. Then I'll grab the megasphere almost regardless of health as I there's a chance I'll be needing it. Then go for the switches behind the hive mother which will give me access to the previous room, from there I'll just drop back down and move in a U shape around the hell knights/revenants until I can start clearing the hive mothers from a safe distance.
  31.
  32. Arch-vile + 3 cyberdemon fight I'll skip the linedef that closes the wall on the way in so that I can maybe trap a cyberdemon when I cross it on the way back. I'll just waste my cells here and take it safe as there are enough of them.
  33.
  34. From here on to the final fight everything is completely trivial and there's just no risk of dying. I'll start by picking the revenants so that I can safely kill them with splash damage from the 3x cyberdemon area. Need to use a few rockets landing direct hits so I don't risk having too many left alive. I fire 2 rockets at a time to not get hit by any revenant projectile and having a much lower chance of having the rocket land on the floor in front of me. Once I run out of rockets I'll drop down and just BFG the rest.
  35.
  36. Then I activate the barons, BFG the cyberdemon immediately and then the arch-viles. From there I'll be able to safely use all my rockets on the barons before clearing the rest with BFG. Then only hell knights left with a few viles, no problem as long as you don't do anything really dumb and get trapped somehow.
  37.
  38. On to the chaingunner area... it's funny how there's equally many megasphere for this fight as there are for the final fight. With this amount of health there's just no chance of dying. I'll just sit in one of the corners and fire plasma down one direction and let infighting mostly take care of the other side. Once I reach like 100/100 or my cell count drops low I'll go for the closest megasphere before going back to the corner I was in. After a while I'll move towards the other megaspheres.
  39.
  40. Final fight is not that hard, mostly need to avoid running into a hive mother or getting unlucky by having a cyberdemon block your path. Not sure what the chance of a cyberdemon blocking off a path completely is as most of the time it happened during practice it could probably have been avoided by being a bit more careful with movement.
  41.
  42. First I'll start by just running around with either the SSG or the rocket launcher and just try to get infighting going. If I am wasteful with the BFG I might run out, but as long as I connect with most of the BFGs and use some rockets for single targets then there shouldn't be any ammo issues. Before a hive mother teleports in there will be a few exploding barrels teleporting in, so one also needs to stay clear of the teleporters. The pillar on top is red when something is about to teleport so you can see when it's about to happen. I'll BFG pretty much anything after a while, cacodemons really have to die as you don't want them infighting with cyberdemons at the end.
  43.
  44. 5 minutes and 30 seconds after the fight started the cyberdemons teleport in, I'll stand behind one of the walls in the area that's furthest away from the center. Once the cyberdemons teleport in I'll run through the middle (which will be clear) over to the other side where I will again wait behind one of the walls for a short moment. From there I'll run back again along the fence and just try to not get blocked by a cyberdemon and not mess up my movement by getting stuck in anything. From there on I'll still need to keep my focus on not getting blocked while I fire the BFG.
  45.
  46. For the arch-viles I'll start by activating the switch furthest away from the teleporter, then I'll be able to stand on top of the teleporter before they can teleport in. Now I'll fire 5 BFGs towards the right side of the map and then the 6th one on top of the viles. I'll stand a bit back so that if it gets out of control I can hid behind one of the walls.
