  1. Introduction: The New Scenarios were inspired by a previous series known as “The Scenario”, posted on Dannychoo.com by a popular user named Tenrou. These were short, situational stories that were often sexual in nature, involving awkward situations, and iconically always ending in “What do you say? What do you do?”, which is a challenge for you to finish the story in the perspective of the protagonist. As a fan of mind games, I made an effort to solve all 150+ that he created, until the fateful day that he moved to Hawaii, and left the site, promising that he’d one day return. When Dannychoo changed to figure.fm, I (like a few others who were less committed) decided to post some of my own scenarios in 2011 known as the “New Scenarios” in anticipation of his return, and to help fill the void he left in my heart. [insert frowny emoticon here] These were created by myself and a few of my old friends to try and screw each other over narratively speaking, but were condensed into less open ended versions that would more appropriately work for the site. I posted about 30 different new scenarios before his eventual return over a year later in 2012. Unfortunately however, he hasn’t posted any more scenarios to this day. I’m not surprised, making my total of 37 was already tough enough, he made about 160 before quitting.
  2. As time passed, I faded into obscurity. Scenarios just weren’t the kind of thing figure.fm was about. Unsurprisingly, it was about figures. I had no audience to appeal to in a matter of months, and because of that, I left without warning, or even a goodbye. It’s not like anyone was going to miss me. Not wanting the spirit of the scenario to die though, I decided to revise, expand, and improve each and every one, and put them on my pastebin. Yeah, it’ll suck that the option to reply is no longer available, but it’s better than letting them go to waste.
  3. Let’s begin.
  4. Oh, and once in a while, I’ll mark potentially important parts of sentences with ++“ ”++.
  5.
  6. New Scenario 1: The Apparition of the Hoshikuzo’s Building
  7.
  8.
  9. Meet Chris. Chris is a tall, scrawny and very pale Caucasian, with a massive amount of wild brown hair, and a less than cheerful disposition. Not unpopular, but not notable either, you identify him most as, “That guy that you've been friends with since kindergarten”. Last week, Chris had taken you along with him to some comic shop across town that you’ve never heard of. Apparently they were the only shop around that had “Ultimate Star Strike Wonder Squad; Issue 17” so he wasn’t going to miss out on that. During the trip, you two saw a massive building. Dwarfing the houses around it, this home is comparable to the size of a temple, but that’s impossible, because temples have massive amounts of land around them, and you’re in a very urban part of Spuria City. You don’t just find temples crammed between one story homes like sardines in a can. Decrepit, untouched by time, and with untrimmed bushes so thick that they almost completely cover the windows of the first floor, the entire home gives a horrible vibe.
  10. According to Chris,an old businessman was stabbed to death by his wife in his sleep due to him wasting their money on his gambling addiction. “Pachinko’s a hell of a game,” Chris tells you. He also adds that no one’s bought the land because it’s apparently haunted, but you don’t believe that for a bit. Ghost are products of superstition and hysteria, and you’re quick to tell that to Chris. Chris has always been a man of challenge, so he makes you an offer. He’ll give you the 4000 yen (39 dollars) he was saving for comics, if you spend the night in the abandoned building.
  11. You agree for this Saturday, and shake his hand, putting the deal in stone.
  12. This’ll be the easiest 4000 yen you’ve ever made.
  13. The night finally comes, and ++you are driven to the "haunted home" with only a cell phone and a few blankets for when it gets cold in your backpack++. “Good luck,” Chris tells you with a trollish grin. You slam the door to his car, and he drives of chuckling into the horizon.
  14. You then walk through the front lawn, and enter the building.
  15. The place doesn't seem very scary. It's actually been kept in a pretty good condition. It’s fully furnished, though extremely dusty from what you’re guessing is years of inactivity.
  16. “Not even a burglar?” you think to yourself. That aspect does make this place pretty unsettling. After exploring the home for about half an hour; looking at photos and portraits, rummaging through the basement’s boxed goods…finding a surplus of male on male pornography, grooving to a record player you found in a music room on the second floor, complete with a grand piano, you eventually reach this “apparition’s” bedroom all the way on this building’s fourth floor.
  17. During the ride over, Chris told you that, Laurence told Chris, that Mitzy told Lawrence that he died hating his wife, because he thought she was unfaithful to him. Because of this, if a male, and only a male lays in his bed, he'll speak to them, mourning his death, cursing off women, and warning them not to fall asleep (because of the stabbing of course). Seeing as you’ve nothing better to do for the night, you decide to give the whole bed thing a try.
  18. The moment you sit on his bed, the door slams shut with enough force to almost knock down the photos on the walls. Your hairs raise on the back of your neck, unsure what happened, but something inside you compels you to keep going. Staring cautiously at the door, you lay down slowly into the bed. You then hear a strange disembodied voice that faintly tells you, “women are horrible" in the most depressingly mopey voice you’ve ever heard. At this point you're terrified and your entire viewpoint has now been rocked. A figure then comes into view, floating forward from the door, as it’s legs are just a ghostly tail. It’s the spirit; pasty white, with long and undone hair hiding a gaping stab wound in his left eye, wearing a t-shirt riddled with stab wounds. He looks you dead in the eyes with a miserable expression and tells you, "I don’t want women anymore...Remove your clothing".
  19. What do you say what do you do?
  20.
  21. New Scenario 2: Bara Vince
  22.
  23.
  24. How is it that no matter what Chris involves himself with, it always ends with you getting egg on your face? That guy’s like Loki and Até’s unwanted child or something. After telling Chris about your previous night, he actually felt a touch of remorse for potentially putting you in danger. He decided the best course of action would be to take you clubbing to help forget your troubles.
  25. It’s helped enough. The drinks have kept you nice and fuzzy, and you’re having a fantastic time dancing like a fool with women that you’ve never met before. Despite this, you can't help but think that something bad's going to happen. You’re not one of those depressed or paranoid types that believes the world’s out to get you, but to say your life is a continuous stream of misfortune is an understatement. For the next few days however, things remain pretty tame, or at least tame from the perspective of a man who’s been out partying for three days straight. This is probably going to be unhealthy if you keep it up.
  26. For your fourth day, you decide to ease off the partying, since tomorrow was Monday and you have classes to focus on. Sure enough though, Chris comes knocking on the door of your shabby little home to drag you along with him.
  27. “Come on bro. Let’s go bowling and get plastered,” he says holding an unmarked green bottle in his hand. You eye the bottle, curious what the content is, but he makes it clear for you.
  28. "It’s absinthe. Some crazy concentrated mega alcohol that does crazy things to your mind."
  29. As tempting as rolling gutter balls for a couple of hours is, you respectfully decline to get on with some actual business.
  30. “Shoot yourself. I’ll give you the bottle though. Consider it a gift.”
  31. You take the bottle from him, and he leaves without another word.
  32. Not wanting to spend your studying time drunk, you head to your kitchen to stash this “mega alcohol” in the fridge for later. Something stops you however, as you think to yourself, “What does this even taste like?”
  33. You grab a bottle opener and pop it’s lid. You just want a little taste so you’ll know if this is actually good or not. Nothing more, nothing less. Slowly, you bring the bottle to your lips, and let only small amount cascade across your tongue. It’s kind of bitter. It actually reminds you of black licorice for the few seconds you remain conscious. Transitions? What are those?! The moment you put the bottle in the fridge, you lose feeling in your legs, and began stumbling around before landing face first to the ground.
  34. There are brief flashes of your actions that you can’t quite put together from there. You remember crashing into a few mailboxes driving to a club. There was a bunch of dancing. Some woman smacked you. It’s all a literally blur until you soon lose it completely and go unconscious.
  35. You wake up in a very soft and comfortable bed, but looking at the red velvet sheeps, you quickly realise this isn’t yours. You’re not sure how you possibly didn’t notice this first, but you’re also playing little spoon with a large, hairy chested, and judging by the arm wrapped around you, very muscular figure. He gives a soft moan into your ear, and it’s immediately then, that you realize, you’re spooning with Vince.
  36. Vince is around 40. Tall, very muscular, but still wide, with short, blonde hair and deep blue eyes. He's an open homosexual with a life partner named Renjiro, an ex-sumo wrestler turned housewife. Short black hair, green eyes, and just as hairy. In the past, you used to be friends with their adopted son Takeshi since your first meeting with him in high school. As time went on however, you grew distant from him, mostly as a result of how close Vince had gotten to you. It was no secret that he thought you were attractive, and when you had first told him that you were 16 a few years ago, and that it’d be pedophilia, he laughed it off and told you, “Don’t worry, that’s not a turn off.” He's been trying to get in your pants for a while, but you never thought it would actually happen! You find the whole situation incredibly uncomfortable, and all you can think about is how things even escalated to this extreme in the first place. Speaking of Renjiro, he begins to stumble into the room in his boxers, with your bottle of absinthe, a rubber chicken, and a bucket of lotion. Vince then looks passionately into your eyes and tells you,"I hope your body is Reggie," as his face contorts into a very odd grin.
  37. What do you say what do you do?
  38.
  39.
  40. New Scenario 3: Yunna the Female.
  41.
  42.
  43. Things have been getting worse and worse lately. Yeah, your life was pretty blah to begin with, but still. Whenever you feel depressed however, there’s always someone who can make things better, and that’s Yunna. Yunna is the second oldest friend you have (next to Chris of course) and the only person who gets your strange lack of luck. She’s about 5’4, a couple years younger than yourself, sporty, often sporting her brunette hair in a ponytail, and constantly wearing loose fitting shorts because of how comfy they are. You two do everything together, play basketball, take walks/jogs, even see movies from time to time. Occasionally, your friends joke about you two being a couple, especially Hachiro who tells you that you should, “bathe with her like when you were kids”, but you always brush their words off. Despite her very toned appearance, you think of her more like a little sister rather than anything else.
  44. As usual, you two spend the second Tuesday of the month playing basketball. Yunna is way better than you however, and as usual, she crushes you in a game of one on one, rubbing her victory in your face.
  45. “I might as well cut of my right leg to at least give you a chance,” she says with a massive grin as you rub the sweat from your forehead.”
  46. The smile that she’s sporting is especially wide today however. She seems more cheerful and energetic than usual, and that’s saying something.
  47. “Hey uh, I was wondering; I bought a bunch of horror movies online, and I could use someone to watch em’ with. You wanna come to my house or something?”
  48. The question brings you off guard, because ++you can’t remember the last time you’ve actually gone to her house++. She’s mentioned before that, “I have problems too ya know,” so you think that has something to do with it. You respectfully agree.
  49. “Cool! Show up at 6:30, and not a minute early or I’ll punch a hole where your face used to be.”
  50. She smiles even wider and laughs a little.
  51. At about 6:27pm you show up to her house, and wait as patiently as possible until 6:30 before knocking the door and announcing your arrival.
  52. “The door’s unlocked. Come on in.”
  53. You open the door to see the inside of her home for the first time in forever.
  54. The house has very little light around it (probably for the movie), but it’s still similar to the last time you came. Aside from a flatter TV to replace the homes clunky old model, the walls are still white with tan stripish wallpaper, there’s still that large red couch with a leafy theme with the stairway behind it, a burgundy...scratch that, it’s now a Beige carpet, and an opening to the kitchen that Yunna comes in through. Oddly enough, she's wearing a red dress, and she actually has her hair down. You've never seen her in a skirt, let alone a dress, so you can't help but question her change in wardrobe?
  55. She punches you in the arm and tells you, "SHUT UP, THIS IS A SPECIAL OCCASION!" Awkwardly, you try to change the subject by asking what movie you guys are going to watch, but she then changes the subject again by asking, "Didn't you have something you wanted to talk about?" You don’t think now’s a good time to lay down your sadness, but being reminded, you begin to talk about how misfortunate things have been lately.
  56. You complain for a good five minutes about your life before being interrupted by a beeping noise.
  57. “Hmph. That was fast.”
  58. Yunna gets up from the couch and tells you,
  59. “Come on, I haven’t got all day.”
  60. You follow her into the kitchen, and see before you, an elegant candle-lit dinner. She's made a lot of food for a mere movie: onigiri, pasuta, even Shichimenchō. Suddenly it all makes sense: the lights, the dress, now THIS. YOU'RE ON A DATE! This is...really weird. Like your friend has some kind of parasite in her brain that’s making her do stuff she’d never do in 1000 years. You don’t even remember her being able to cook. You thought she said she was terrible at it one time you two went to a diner for lunch.
  61. Yunna looks at you with a serious face before telling you, "Are you going to sit down or what?"
  62. What do you say what do you do?
