  2. As more and more of our people are diagnosed with Stage I symptoms, we must face the reality that we have reached the limit of our initial projections for development on Umui. Whilst further development is necessary, we must do so with the understanding of the irreparable damage we will do to the island’s environment.

  4. Unfortunately, we have no other options realistically available to us. The need for additional living space is rapidly outgrowing the current quarantine zone at a speed which forces such expansions to remain in an area previously developed- we have neither the time nor the resources to mitigate this occupationary impact by creating another settlement elsewhere.

  6. At the least, Umui’s isolated position offers one, small benefit. Should the island begin to rapidly degrade from our continued development, there is little in the surrounding area that would be inadvertently affected.

  8. Jovan has requests to test the potential of the infection to spread via avians and aquatic life. That request has been firmly denied. The very last thing we need right now is to become responsible for the destruction of even more lives. Pendar, finding this amusing, asked Jovan in this day’s meeting if such an outcome was truly possible.
