Red Tourney 2019 Thoughts

TL;DR - Sudo is Toxic

So this will be a long paste...oof. Anyways before this tourney started I was actually pretty disjointed from speedrunning largely due to time constraints. I wanted to support this tourney right away and reached out to the admins to start a prize pool, since competition is at the heart of speedrunning. I was a tiny bit worried that a prize pool would make entrances really serious and less fun but luckily that wasn't the case. I had no intention of entering the tourney since I have always disliked running red compared to yellow, but there were some many runners entering I wanted to give it a shot.

I practiced an average of 4 hours a day, and spent a lot of time learning the route and understanding. I am a pretty pour runner imo, but I really enjoy and love PSR. I am very glad I joined as I was able to get to know many more people in PSR. Anyways I am gonna write a little something about each person I got to know more through this tourney.

Alan - gen 1 miss self destruct...only you my dude. You are a great runner and your nerves improved so much. Keep going (play yellow pls).

AMatt - I wanted our race to be great and that unlucky crit wrecked it all :( Sorry for the bad race matt but you are also just as great for doing the restart for juanly.

Amoeba - Another runner that just showed up and played great. I don't run a lot of games you play, but I knew you were good. Then you showed up killed it in red too. Nice job and keep up the podcast!

Araya - Congrats on the Second place! You were my pick from the beginning and you played fantastic from the start of the tourney till the last moment. Can't wait to see what game you play at a high level next.

Barp - It took me a while to know who you were cause the discord name issue XD But you are a solid runner and I had a blast racing.

Blake - You are an all around good runner, and I can't believe some of the crazy stuff you went through this tourney lol

Crafted - You kill multiple games and categories in Speedrunning and I don't think you're done with red, so I can't wait to see where you end it. I'm calling the sub 1:46

Dabomb - I knew you as very knowledgeable and a good guy from PSR, but never really got to see you run. It was really cool to see, when are more ToS runs though :eyes:

Driek - Every race you had a treat for chat, and your races were always well executed but fun to watch.

Fran - Your commentary was great dude, I'm glad you got picked for finals :) You are insane in red go get that 1:45 my dude

Gunner - I knocked you out...but I'm not banned in your channel Pog! Real talk I freaking love you Gunner and I will forever say "Gunner Skip" on the final venasur.

Gymfreak (Jimmy) - You are a skilled runner and I will never know how you learn so fast. Mr. Canada could be 6th guy :eyes:

Headbob - Some people said they were surprised you made it to semi finals but I wasn't :) Congrats again dude and you got silph red bar to work POGYOU

Hwang - I knew you from yellow, and I knew you were good. You got out of the tourney way too early. You are so good, and your swag bolders piss me off :)

Juanly - I love you, I would have reset our run even if I was entering hall of fame and you crashed. You are a great runner, a great person, and I hope you don't ever get burnt out of speedrunning cause you are my favorite runner to chill with. You might be a Chicken but you're my Chicken :)

KrazyD4n - I have this curse it seems to make runners better than me get insanely bad luck, and it sucked that you couldn't finish out that run because you were one of the people I was most excited to race.

Legend - Thanks for being a great runner and a great admin, you also got me my practice rom which saved me SO much time

Hammer - You are as chill and great as runners come, and I'm sorry you had to drop from our race. You are great at both GTA and Pokemon and I want more hammer streams!

Pinkish - You are better than you give yourself credit for. There will be a day when everything clicks for you, and you will just be set as a great runner. You have a thirst for understanding these games and want to improve and you get better every day. Keep it up, any patronize I ever give you is mostly in jest <3

Pokeguy - Congrats on race WR, your video with inputs helped me so damn much so thanks for that. Please don't die to gen 1 misses again and please get yellow WR so more people play yellow :)

Que - Congrats on 3rd and sorry the growlithe had to get you. Deathless isn't in the cards but you still got to finals :) 1:47 soon TM

Sinstar - God damn you know a lot, and you play great. I barely knew you before this, but I knew you were really good at later gens. I'm really grateful I got to see just how much you know about everything really.

SLWeed - Silph Red Bar was a mistake...jk, you know you're my bro and I wanted to race you so bad but wasn't in the cards. Maybe next year :P

Snorms - I didn't ever get to race you, but I just had to say...I will never consider iceless after that tourney race that was so intense to watch at the end!

Stringflow - Great commentary string, you are honestly funny and informative I hope you do more stuff like this in the future :)

Tepp - I was so sad when you dropped in our race. You are a great runner and I still want you to go get that Race Winner Champ title.

Vivec - I got to know some older red runners from this tourney and you played so damn good dude. Idk what you plan on doing now but I will definately check it out.

Wartab - You were a blast to chat with from time to time, and I'm really excited to see your GDQ run

Wawa - Congrats on the win, and the 1:45 and Crystal WR (wait is that part too soon :gunThink: ) You are a great runner and a chill dude. 5th Guy OP :)

Wh0m - Great running dude, and it was a blast to compare against you in for fun races cause you would just blow me out of the water a lot of the time.

Wsop - I really got to know you more because of this, and that is probably the #1 reason I am glad I joined. You are an insane runner I knew that, but you also are very willing to help and know so much about everything. I wish our race was a more even spead of RNG across the both of us, but when we were close in the race I had so much fun.
