History of Hearing Aids

1600-1799
Sailors used ear trumpets to communicate with each other over
long distances.

1800-1899
Auricles and Cornets wereintroduced, similar to the ear trumpet
but smaller.

1900-1920
Electrical Hearing Aids entered the market. They were smaller than
Auricles and Cornets but still relatively large.

1921-1955
Hearing aids finally moved to inside the ear

1956-Present
Hearing aids have gotten smaller and more functional, and their batteries
now last much longer. However, price has gone up.
