BACKSTORY
  • Yang Yang was born in New York, USA along with her sister. Her dad was Chinese and her mom was Korean and raised them strictly, expecting Yang Yang and her sister to be perfect & efficient. Yang Yang and her sister were very close to each other and wasn't very close to their parents. When Yang Yang was 16, her sister, who was 18, auditioned for JYP and got accepted. Her parents were not happy at all but that didn't stop her sister from moving to South Korea to train at JYP. Yang Yang, who wanted to be with her sister and not stay with her upset parents, also moved to South Korea. Her parents tried to stop them, but it was too late already. In South Korea, Yang Yang attended high school there, took a part-time job at a cafe to earn money for herself, and rented out a tiny, comfortable & cheap apartment to live in. Because she couldn't cook well, she often ate ramen or ordered food (Cereal, Chinese food, pizza, hamburgers, breads etc.) She visited her sister often and was content with her simple, comfortable life in South Korea. Also, whenever possible, she sent money to her parents who were still in NY, USA and sometimes contacted them.

Yang Yang is one of the most laziest & introverted girls you ever met. Her ideal vacation is staying at home, watching K-DRAMAS & K-POP crack videos & cartoons, listening to K-POP music and snacking. She absolutely despises going outside unless she needs or wants to. She also not very sociable and don't talk to people much unless she needs or wants too. It takes a lot to convince her to go out & socialize, which makes it surprising how her best friend CHERRY BLOSSOM is able to constantly gets her to do things, like going bungee jumping or something.

FIRST MEETING
  • Yang Yang got fired from her job at the cafe so she needed another job. She looked up jobs online, and found a part-time job in the same convenience store that Renjun worked at (but she didn't know that yet). She took that job because it paid well. On her first day of work at the convenience store, she saw Renjun at the counter and was surprised. She felt wary of him since she had heard rumors about him being a ringmaster of a blackmail network. She muttered under her breath in Chinese, "I'm working with a weirdo, should I be worried or not?" However, Renjun overheard her and since he also understood Chinese perfectly, was amused at her words. He replied back, in perfect Chinese, "Why should you be worried? Am I that weird?" Yang Yang was shocked and embarrassed, and started apologizing to him. Renjun assured her it was all right and asked for her name. The two of them introduced themselves to each other.
