  1. Philly Cheese Steak (with or without bread)
  2.
  3. Stuff you'll need:
  4.
  5. 1 pound shaved steak (ribeye if possible)
  6. 1/2 onion
  7. 1/2 bell pepper
  8. Mayo
  9. American or Provolone Cheese
  10. Big frying pan with a lid (cast iron or a good non-stick pan)
  11. Tongs (preferably, a spoon will work too)
  12.
  13. Steps:
  14. 1. Chop onions and peppers into strips.
  15. 2. Saute the onion and bell pepper strips in olive oil on low heat for 10-15 minutes, this will caramelize the onions.
  16. 3. Push veggies to the side of the pan, add shaved steak and crank the heat up to high.
  17. 4. Brown the steak, easiest to do with some tongs so you can dig in and mix it up.
  18. 5. Once browned, add some mayo. I don't really have an exact amount but i'd say 2 table spoons will be enough.
  19. 6. Mix up everything in the pan to uniformity, the shaved steak shouldn't have had too much fat and it should be mixing together with the olive oil and mayo to make a base for the cheese sauce.
  20. 7. Bring the heat back to low and put some slices of American (land of lakes or boar's head, never get store brand) or Provolone cheese. I use 4-5 slices and just lay it on top. Cover with a lid.
  21. 8. Once cheese is melted, take the pan off the stove with the lid still on top and shake it all up. The cheese tends to stick to whatever utensil you use until it's mixed in really well.
  22. 9. All done, add to a sub roll or eat straight from a bowl if you're watching your carbs.
