JUST USE SOCIAL MEDIA

Covet: Kelsey was waiting with Brad for his meeting with Nancy to start up. She had her arms crossed because she'd been short with him all weekend, mostly anticipating the worst.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad was sitting on the couch in the main studio area while he waited for Nancy to call him in to begin their meeting. He'd been waiting at least a half hour by this point as he stared at the glass office doors which had been closed with Nancy inside. // Nancy had been making phone calls and trying to arrange as much damage control as she possibly could before she pulled Brad in to talk because she intended to tell him how it was going to go, not have an actual exchange because this was very one sided. Once she was finished, she got up from the desk and walked to the door, pulling it open and looking at him with a unmoving face. "Come on in."-
Covet: Kelsey looked at Brad, then bit the inside of her cheek, "Am I allowed to come in with him?" She asked, getting up and going along anyways, because she was mostly being nosey, but also wanted to add to the dirty looks Brad was going to be getting in the office.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad sighed and pushed up from the couch, moving forward to walk into the office Nancy was taking over for the evening and taking a seat down in one of the chairs opposite the desk. He remained completely silent, knowing she was just going to attack him. // "As long as Bradley is fine with it, I don't mind." Nancy said to Kelsey and walked back over to the desk, sitting down behind it and folding her hands together. "First of all, I'm disappointed that you weren't even thinking about how something so reckless could affect your career and your status in this industry."-
Covet: She walked in, not really caring if Brad had an issue with it or not. She sat down next to him and kept her arms crossed in front of her, as she moved one leg over the other. She nodded her head along with Nancy, because she pretty much told him as much already, so it was nice that someon else was telling him the same thing.
Alexithymiaa: "Well I wasn't really any kind of impaired so-" // Nancy held up a hand, cutting him off because she did not give a FUCK what he had to say to defend himself. "I don't care. Just stop talking. This is how it's going to go. We need to be out ahead of this before the media gets wind. Which means you need to tell the world before they do so we can control the narrative here. Now I just got off the phone with the editor in chief of ET Web and they agreed to hold their story if we give them an exclusive interview. So that's our plan of active, you tell your side, which of course will be MY side because you can't be trusted to do or say the right thing anymore, and once that goes live, you'll release a public apology for your actions."-
Covet: "I like the sound of this, what's your version of the story going to be?" Kelsey asked curiously. She glanced over at Brad to see how he was taking this.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad's shoulder's slumped down disappointed, but at the same time the idea of going on ET to give an interview was still kind of cool so he wasnt all that bummed. "Yeah, so then what am I supposed to say?" // "Well first of all, you weren't leaving a bar. That's for starters. You were leaving a charity event. Kelsey, you were there as well, but you'd left a bit earlier to get Connor home for school the next day. Second, you just barely reached the legal limit and since you live so close, you didnt think to bother a driver since they were already so busy with the charity event." She spoke firmly, beginning to pace. "And then you're going on record that you're donating to MADD in an effort to pay back society for your miscalculation."-
Covet: "That is all doable, but what about the other part of his charges?" She asked Nancy, her arms moving from being crossed, to holding her hands in her lap.
Alexithymiaa: "Really?" He retorted, throwing his head back. "You can't just tell me I have to donate to some charity. That's not really your decision." // Nancy ignored Brad because it was her decision and he was going to do what she said regardless of what he wanted. "Oh that's simple. We're just denying that. They found it in his car, yes, but how many people does he deal with on a daily basis? He didnt even know it was in the car to begin with so it easily could have been someone else's and he's looking into who he associates with that may be involved in illegal substances." She said and then looked directly at Brad for confirmation he was listening to her.-
Covet: "That sounds good, and actually, I think donating to a charity is a really good idea, and don't complain about it like that because it can be a tax write off for next year. It's going to a good cause." Kelsey said curtly to him.
Alexithymiaa: -He rolled his eyes instantly at her, looking away from her face. "Fine, yeah, whatever." // Nancy scowled since he was writing her off. "No, this is not whatever. Do you know how many people get sucked into scandals like this without proper PR and it just ruins their entire careers? This is serious business and we'll handle it as such. Don't make it so no one wants to work with you again."-
Covet: "I love you, hun, but I'm not going to be supporting the three of us, even though I know I totally could comfortably." Kelsey said to him.
Alexithymiaa: "I get it." He raised his voice at the two women he felt were badgering him, throwing his hands up. "I'll do whatever it is you want me to do if you both just stop pestering me about it. Jeez." // Nancy turned to sit back down at the desk, pulling her laptop closer to her and typing. "I'm emailing you the details of the interview, and I'm going to email you exactly what you need to be talking about as well as your personal apology."-
Covet: "Maybe you'll think about all this next time BEFORE you decide to drink and drive." Kelsey said to him, crossing her arms again. "I'll make sure he knows it backwards and forwards."
Alexithymiaa: -He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket when she emailed him the interview details, digging for it to confirm he'd gotten it. "It wasn't like it was a conscious decision, but yeah sure." // "Thank you, Kelsey. I'm almost done with what I'd like you to post on your social media once the interview goes live, too."-
Covet: "Exactly and that's the problem. That way from here on out it will be a conscious decision." She told him, then looked at Nancy, "Oh, I'm posting something up too?"
Alexithymiaa: "Social media?" He asked with a wrinkle of his nose because he was pretty dead set against that. // "No, not you. Bradley, your social media. And I really don't want to hear how much you don't want to. I don't care. If you choose not to use your biggest vocal platform to promote yourself and your work, that's your choice that I severely disagree with, but this isn't optional."-
Covet: "Just because you're not active on there, doesn't mean that anyone else isn't They're going to see it there first, so Nancy has a point." Kelsey said.
Alexithymiaa: "But I hate it. I don't use it because it's overused and over relied on. This completely goes against the statement I'm trying to make. The media is already so much into everyones lives, why do we elect to give the world even more?" // "Because you control this. You dont control what the media puts out there. This is your story from your point. And i'm telling you, you have to. Period. End of story."-
Covet: "That's the world of today, Bradley. That's how people communicate, on a mass level, as well as a quick intimate level. Not to mention the whole purpose of this is to get this out there before they get their hands on it and twist it around. You know beat them to the punch." Kelsey said.
Alexithymiaa: -He let out a deep groan, sliding down in his chair. "Fine. Whatever. But after this all blows over, I'm deactivating again." // Nancy sighed, folding her hands together over her keyboard. "I really think you should reconsider your stance on using it to benefit your career. Even if you dont post personal things, just promote the video releases and upcoming projects."-
Covet: "You could have Evan manage it, lots of people and bands do that to promote their stuff since they're usually too busy to do it." Kelsey said. "It wouldn't even be any sweat off of your back, since he knows when everything is happening anyways."
Alexithymiaa: "I guess...." He mumbled, looking away from the two of them and just altogether feeling like a scolded child. "I'll think about it." // "Great, now that that's settled, I'm sending you what you need to post after the interview is live and I'll check in with you before that point just to go over your talking points and how to appear sympathetic to the issue at hand since you're clearly not doing a very good job."-
Covet: "I can try to help coach him." Kelsey offered trying to be helpful. "Connor might even be able to teach you how to look sympathetic and appear genuinely sorry, though when he does it, he usually means it."
Alexithymiaa: "Alright, alright!" He said as he shoved up from his chair. "Are we done now or are you both just going to dig into me some more?" He shot back, turning to walk himself out of the office and away from them since he was so frustrated. He walked over to the studio mixing table, dropping heavily into the chair and beginning to play with the knobs and sliders. // Nancy raised a brow at Brad as he stormed off before eyeing Kelsey. "Thank you for your help."-
Covet: "Yeah well I've been on him since I bailed him out. I'll let up once he realizes how much of an idiot he was." Kelsey said, leaning back. "You're sure nothing will come of the coke thing too?" She asked, more worried for her own shit involving that than anything else at this point.
Alexithymiaa: "I really doubt it. There will always be some speculation floating around, but there isn nothing we can do about people speculating. They'll talk regardless of what's found in his car. The point is nothing is proven, and we know the clients he associates with and at the very least people will be talking about who's they think it is."-
Covet: "Okay, that's good." Kelsey said breathing a bit of a sigh of relief. "Should I go with him to these things to show a joint support?" She asked Nancy.
Alexithymiaa: "You can, just be mindful that people may want to pay more attention to you and what you have going on right now rather than why he's really there. We don't want to overshadow the message we're trying to convey with this interview."-
Covet: "Right, I'll be there, but I won't go on or anything with him. I can make it a point not to make it about me. " Kelsey said with a nod, she didn't really want people to start talking about her anymore than him, but that was a price you paid for this business.
Alexithymiaa: "Perfect. He has his talking points, now he just needs to stick to them." Nancy said as she stood up, walking over to her briefcase in the corner to begin packing up her things.-
Covet: "Thank you for pushing him to get ahead on this. He wouldn't even really listen to me on the matter." She said as she got up and went out to go see how his pouty ass was doing.
Alexithymiaa: -He was staring down at the mixer in front of him as he toyed with it, headphones on looped over his ears. // "That's what I'm here for." Nancy said with a wave as she went about packing her things so she could head out.-
Covet: Kelsey reached out and gave his neck and shoulders a bit of a rub since he was quiet and pouting over the mixing board.
Alexithymiaa: -When he felt her on his shoulders, he pulled the headphones off to hang around his neck, tipping his head back to look at her. "You and Nancy have fun talking shit once I was gone?"-
Covet: "We weren't really talking about you. Just talking about my end of things. How to be there, and be supportive for you, without taking away from your situation." She told him, brushing his hair out of his face.
Alexithymiaa: "Still seems like you were talking about me." He said with a huff, severely down on himself after their little meeting. "I already said I was going to do whatever she wanted me to."-
Covet: "Then why did you have to give her the attitude about it? If you already knew you were going to do it, there wasn't a need to fight it. You're just making it tougher on yourself." She said to him, still playing with his hair.
Alexithymiaa: "Because I didnt really have a choice? I didnt go in with the intent to end up donating a bunch of money on top of whatever fine Im going to have to end up paying and having to do the whole stupid social media thing, but she was just going to yell at me until I gave in."-
Covet: "It's nothing you won't gain back. And, it's less than the future money you could be losing out on. Plus giving back isn't a bad thing, Are you really going to be upset about having to donate to a charity? Because if that's the case, I'm clearly not with the right person." Kelsey said. "As for the social media thing, I already told you Evan could probably do that up, so it wouldn't even be on your shoulders."
Alexithymiaa: "It's not about not wanting to donate the money or missing the money, it's about the fact that I don't have a choice. I have to donate to this specific charity at this specific moment and it's not because I think it's a good cause and want to help them out, it's because I'm trying to make myself look good. It's just a shit reason for making a donation." He said genuinely, which was the first non-shitty thing he's said in the last week. "And it doesnt matter who runs my social media. The statement was that I don't have one. It's pointless if he runs it."-
Covet: "That's because you made a bad choice. This is the consequence for that, and quite frankly, it could be a hell of a lot worse, so maybe think of that. The charity literally translates to Mothers against Drunk Driving. As someone who has a particular fondness for both mothers and kinds, I think Nancy found one that is more fitted to you than she had to. It's not so much about making yourself look good, it's about you making yourself look humble and apologetic for what you did, which you should be." Kelsey said, " It's not that pointless in today's day in age."
Alexithymiaa: "I don't dislike the charity, I just don't like fact that the donation isn't because I want to, it's because I'm trying to apologize. I should be donating because they're doing good stuff, not because Im trying to make up for some actions." He sighed, rubbing a hand over his face. "Whatever, it doesnt matter."-
Covet: "So your problem is still about apologizing because you don't think you've done anything wrong. Well I'm done beating this bush, so when you decide you actually feel like you should apologize, you can come find me." She said shaking her head at him as she walked off so that she could get her jacket and keys to take off.
Alexithymiaa: "That wasn't my point!" He yelled after her, slinking even further down in his chair with a sigh. He had decided to pout and feel sorry for himself for awhile before he was going to head back home.-
