Switch VC

I'm not that happy to hear about switch VC because chances are it'll be the exact same game and it'll just complicate things for the sunshine community.

The only upside I see is that the wr will probably get faster but it'll be for a dumb reason. Also to compete at the top level you'll need to buy an expensive console, and if there's no homebrew, we'll have to buy a Japanese switch. And further, without homebrew we won't be able to use practice codes on the console we're running on which will cut practice efficiency in half.

I know people always argue that "it doesn't matter, just run on whatever version you want." But the truth is the sunshine community is pretty competitive and a large number of us are motivated by trying to beat other peoples' times, so it's sadly not that simple.

It's cool that there's likely to finally be GCN VC since in my opinion it's the best collection of games for any console to date, but in terms of speedrunning sunshine I'm not that happy about it. Regardless I'm going to buy a switch, seems like it's coming together as a great console and I'm excited to see what else is coming.
