  1. Oh boy, a murder! Now things are getting interesting!
  2.
  3. Let's work backwards this time. Mustard was killed with the Revolver, that can't be disputed. He and the killer also had each other's weapons, and Mustard prepared to stab, which means that the killer brought the Dagger - and in fact had it all day - and Mustard brought the Revolver.
  4.
  5. The two ponies were interrupted by Scarlet carrying the Candlestick. She's in the clear.
  6.
  7. The killer mentions that they were at the Gala in question. This exonerates both White and Plum, who weren't there. In addition, White had possession of the Rope.
  8.
  9. That clears all of the information provided by the section in the library. Our current summary:
  10.
  11. MUSTARD, REVOLVER (victim)
  12. SCARLET, CANDLESTICK (innocent)
  13. WHITE, ROPE (innocent)
  14. PLUM, ??? (innocent)
  15. GREEN, ???
  16. PEACOCK, ???
  17.
  18. A little visit to the beginning of the chapter shows that Green has the Lead Piping. Through a combination of weapon elimination and pointing out who actually hadn't gone to that gala, there's only one solution.
  19.
  20. It was PEACOCK, with the REVOLVER, in the LIBRARY.
  21.
  22. A quick look through the chapter again doesn't contradict this. Peacock is the only pony who isn't associated with a weapon nor whether they went to the Gala or not. Neither White nor Plum attended; Scarlet did, but interrupted the conversation between Mustard and his killer; it isn't clear whether Green went to the Gala but he's carrying the Lead Piping.
  23.
  24. Of course, there's always Body. He was at the Gala...
