  1. All times are in Pacific Daylight Time (PDT)
  2.
  3. 1:30am
  4. My plan initially was to go to bed at 9:15m and wake up at 4:15am. I was banking on there being a 15 minute starting soon screen (there wasn't). I was completely unable to get back to sleep after waking up several times just because of nervousness and excitement. I just watched pletty get a 44:18 in nidl.
  5.
  6. 2:15am
  7. Started up my livestream, I was initially doing no mic practice because I didn't want to wake up the rest of my household. Later, I joined a voice call with quil and some others just whispering about the relay. At about 3:15am I finished my squeak practice and started to study other games like Super Star because I would be the one commentating them later in the day since no one else was able to cover it.
  8.
  9. 4:00am - Opening Ceremonies
  10. The stream was live immediately. It immediately started with the runner introduction videos and later went into the opening messages. I was not expecting the amount of memes I saw in this. Super enjoyable to watch but I was laughing too much at 4:00am :|
  11.
  12. The speedgaming stream and commentary was a little late to get started but I didn't really care considering how early it was.
  13.
  14. 5:00am - Kirby's Dream Land
  15. Unfortunately Speedman wasn't ready to start on time because he didn't know where a countdown would be. He started around a minute late. I was commentating this run with Thomas and Rox, Thomas in particular provided really good commentary for extra mode. Unfortunately he wasn't wearing headphones so if one of us interrupted eachother the sound quality would kinda just blow up. Rox left when extra mode started to prepare for his nidl run
  16.
  17. Nightmare in Dream Land
  18. Nightmare in Dream Land was expected to be one of the closest races in the relay, and it played out exactly like that. Once again I commentated with Thomas.
  19.
  20. Kirby Dream Course
  21. Nightmare in Dream Land finished and so was my commentary block, I made myself breakfast for the day. Special shoutout to marche_ who learned Kirby Dream Course in just around 3 days, and shoutouts to r0bd0g who completely destroyed everyone in that segment. This run was commentated by SK and Kinnin at the last second and they provided really good commentary. Marche_ got an MVP award from swordsmankirby
  22.
  23. 7:15am - 10 minutes before epic yarn
  24. Originally, only Laurie was commentating epic yarn, but an hour ago I received word from ProbablyGeo that he would also be able to commentate. But at around 7:00am, Demo had pointed out that Western Team A's runner was MIA. A lot of people were panicking about this but I stayed calm and had a plan. Geo was currently an active runner of Epic Yarn with a pb that could rival the jp runners. I asked him if he could set up his stream and start running in a worst case scenario, that worst case scenario happened but because we stayed calm, we were able to have a backup. Western Team A only lost a minute to this. Now I was commentating Epic Yarn with Laurie to fill in for Geo. Thankfully I had ran epic yarn twice before casually and familiarized myself with the strats done in the run. Geo ended up getting an MVP award at the end from MKCocoon.
  25.
  26. After Epic Yarn
  27. I was super paranoid after Epic Yarn about another runner no showing, so I made it a task for myself to make sure every runner knew when to start and what their specific timing rules in a game was (IE: 100% needs to be shown on file select) despite not being a relay organizer. A lot people later in the relay went to me in particular to ask me about timing and when to get ready to start. I was putting a lot of work into the relay as well as the commentary to make sure we put on a good show, and we did. I ended getting an MVP award from swordsmankirby.

  29. Kirby Squeak Squad:
  30. My run. 15 minutes before the run I was practicing 1-1 wheel mix. I was super worried about missing it in the run because i'm super unfamiliar with using fire in the first 3 levels. The sparky was giving me a weird pattern I had never seen before so it was throwing off my timing a lot. I ended up getting this pattern in the relay but thankfully managed to get wheel, a lot of my stress was gone for Squeak Squad.
  31.
  32. Until I (?) mixed two big stars. I usually get wheel off of the (?) mix but I was timing it early and was getting big stars. This is still ok even though I completely wasted one of them on accident...
  33.
  34. Then I missed the 2-5 bubble glitch, I knew I should have just gone for the mix instead. I was actually freaking the fuck out at this point, I needed to (?) wheel in Moley so I could continue the run. Guess what I ended up getting, another fucking big star. I had to re-enter world 2 after Moley to get an extra wheel bubble. In 3-1, I got hit by a squeak and missed my ability star and got animal??? I didn't even know that was possible. I didn't know of any bubble glitch setups in 3-2 but I ended up finding one and successfully got the bubble glitch.
  35.
  36. I hit every bubble glitch and mix after this in the run, I (?) mixed candy in 6-5. But before the candy mix, I was playing very hesitantly. I was often second guessing myself and waiting a second before entering the next level because I was so fucking nervous. After world 6 though, I played really well.
  37.
  38. Overall I'm happy I got to show off a lot of cool bubble glitches and mixes and so off how far squeak routing has come in 2020, but I am disappointed with the way I played. Originally if there would be another relay with Squeak 100% as a game, I would want to sit it out and help other new western runners learn the game, but now I want a second chance. I know I can play better than this and want to prove myself in the future if I get another chance.
  39.
  40. I have to go to work now so I'll finish writing the pastebin tonight
  41. COMING SOON: KSS, KATAM, Tilt, KRTDL+Finale
