yeeun was raised in california where her parents used to own a traditional korean takeaway restaurant. excluding her parents, there were no other co-workers at the restaurant which was why she and her sister occasionally helped out. she was well-known at her school in california because she was a perfect and a member of the student leadership council. she had a decent amount of friends back then but they were mostly other members of the leadership council. she started to learn how to play piano in her last year of elementary school but stopped receiving lessons after entering high school. at the beginning of her second year in middle school yeeun and her family migrated to south korea to run a western style restaurant. she couldn't speak korean that well when she first came which led her to isolating herself from other students. yeeun's parents were hesitant but decided to transfer her to an international school upon realising how lonely their daughter was. that only made it more difficult for her as she had to adjust to a new school environment. yeeun's help wasn’t needed at the new restaurant since other members from her extended family volunteered to help. she spent most of her time studying at the restaurant since she had nowhere else to go. her parents were thankful she was focusing on her studies but they became very concerned about her social life. due to her parent's command, yeeun started acting lessons to boost up her confidence. eventually, she grew a passion for acting. she entered high school as a major in film and theatre with high hopes to become an actress. yeeun is often picked on by teachers for lacking skill but the truth she isn't able to act to her full ability in front of others.
