  54. Surly and his friends, Buddy, Andie, and Precious, discover that the mayor of Oakton City is cracking one big hustle to build a giant amusement park, which in turn will bulldoze their home. The animals must stop the mayor, his daughter, and a mad animal control officer in order to take back the city park.
  55. Following the events of the first film, Surly and his friends must stop Oakton City's mayor from destroying their home to make way for a dysfunctional amusement park.
  56. Surly&#39;s takeover of the shop has given the nut-loving community an unlimited buffet. Andie refuses to join as she struggles to preach a hard working ethics. When the shop blows up, Surly pledges to find the group another easy food source. Meanwhile, Mayor Muldoon intends to bulldoze the idyllic Liberty Park and turn it into amusement park Liberty Land.<br/><br/>This one continues the barely functional animated franchise. It&#39;s a repetitive series of action scenes and more action. The writing isn&#39;t that funny. An amusement park is not that threatening as far as paving over paradise. It&#39;s more about bring in a colorful set to have fun chasing through. This is better than others like the Chipmunks but it&#39;s nowhere near the Minions.
  57. I&#39;ll be damned, this is a total jawdropper. It&#39;s like a love child of Madagascar 3 and Zootopia. And, boy, does it make its parents eat their shorts.<br/><br/>The Nut Job 2 has everything in fine proportions: quality animation, breathtaking action, various kinds of humor with tons of quipping, total adequacy and self-awareness, cynicism and, of course, the moral center.<br/><br/>This is what modern animations sorely lack. They are either way too pretentious or are just in your face. And that&#39;s even including some original pictures, like Shrek or Madagascar.<br/><br/>The Nut Job 2 doesn&#39;t have these weaknesses, while it properly inherits the action and the ability to make a valid point. The closest animation I can compare to - is the first animation I&#39;ve given 10\10 rating, How to Train Your Dragon(the original). It also had the animation, the moral and proper pacing.<br/><br/>Now, of course, I can&#39;t exactly compare these two. HTTYD had some of the best scores in animation history, and there are plenty of classics that also deserve 10\10. I&#39;m usually nitpicky, but for this movie I just want to make an exception. It could be 8\10, it should be 9\10, but, for the sake of the quality of IMDb content and the modern critic reviews in general, I&#39;d dare say this is a 10\10 material.<br/><br/>With all the B-rated animation we&#39;ve been getting recently, from the biggest studios, no less, this picture stands as a shining example of a sequel that manages to do better than the original. And this is something worth looking out for.<br/><br/>I know this is supposed to be spoiler-free, but I can&#39;t believe this is the one animation that actually dared to take a hit at Disney&#39;s atrocious singing(well, at least in the modern animations). And this movie actually had Jackie Chan acting for once, after THREE Kung-Fu Panda flops! While the rest of the American industry tries to pander to the Chinese in every way possible, The Nut Job 2 actually does it in a hilarious and quite respectful manner. I&#39;d say that this part was borrowed from The Life of Pets, but... The execution was just heaven and earth. You don&#39;t see gangsta bunnies turning to toilet humor here.<br/><br/>I hope that this &quot;indie marvel&quot; will get a third part. That&#39;s really going to be hard to top this one off, but if they get a proper score, something close to HTTYD, while retaining the same approach of direction - it will be the movie for the books.

The Nut Job 2 actually contains some impressive animation, with photorealistic backgrounds and detailed fur dynamics on the characters, but that makes it an even bigger tragedy, since we know that untold hours were spent by artists in service of a product that even the least discerning child would find tired and useless.
