- Barbecue....(Also called BBQ & Chili) A killer perk that allows the killer to see survivors' aura for a few seconds after they hook someone, unless they are in a locker or within 40 meters of the hook
- BM..........Bad Manners
- BT..........Borrowed Time, a perk that allows you to safely unhook a survivor by granting them a 20-second immunity to damage
- Camping.....When a killer patrols closely to the hook so that the survivor on-hook cannot be safely rescued
- Deadhook....(Also called "DOH") The survivor has been hooked twice and will automatically die if hooked again
- DC..........(Also D/C, disconnect) When someone intentionally (usually) quits the game to spite the killer
- DS..........Decisive Strike, a survivor perk. After a survivor is unhooked, DS becomes active for 60 seconds and they can stun the killer and break free if they are downed and picked up again
- Facecamp....When the killer stands in front of a hooked survivor to prevent unhooking
- Inner Strength...An ability that allows you to heal in a locker for 6 seconds if you have cleansed a totem on the map first
- Iron Will...A survivor perk that makes you completely silent, even if injured
- Looping.....When a survivor leads a killer around a loop of obstacles such as pallets, windows, and walls to draw out a chase or lose the killer
- NOED........No One Escapes Death, a killer hex perk. If there is still a totem that hasn't been cleansed when all 5 gens are repaired, it activates. The killer can down survivors in one hit instead of two while it is active
- OoO.........Object of Obsession, at a certain distance the obsession survivor sees the Killer aura and Killer see the aura of the obsession; swf players use this to report to each other on the killer's every move

- Sandbag.....When a survivor sabotages another by body blocking or leading the killer to them
- Slugging....When the killer leaves a survivor to bleed out on the ground (like a "slug") while going after other survivors
- Sweaty......Tryhard
- SWF.........Survive With Friends, aka survivors using voice chat to work together
- Three Gen...When the last three available gens are located near each other so that the killer can easily monitor them.
- Tunneling...When a killer targets a survivor (with "tunnel vision") and ignores all others
- Unbreakable..A survivor perk that allows you to get yourself up off the ground once per game without help
- (There are the most common terms, for a full list of perks check out the DBD Wiki: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Perks)
- 4. What are your favorite killer(s) and/or which ones do you play?
- I am best at playing Ghostface but I do not have a "main". I enjoy playing Huntress, Pig, Plague and Doctor - I play the rest occasionally, but almost never play Nurse, Cannibal, Clown, Legion. Hillbilly or Oni.
- 5. What is the order of the player ranks?
- In order of worst to best: Brown (20-17), Yellow (16-13), Green (12-9), Purple (8-5), Red (4-1)
- Yes, rank 1 is the best rank.
- 6. What do totems do?
- Totems are little piles of bones that can contain a killer's hex perks. There are 5 of them at the start of every match, in random locations. If the totem is lit on fire, it has a Hex perk that is currently affecting the game. If it is not, it is a "dull" totem but some secret Hexes can light the totem later in the match. Cleansing the totem removes the hex (unless it's Haunted Ground, which has an effect when cleansed).
- 7. What happened to Friday the 13th?
- The game's development is inactive due to legal issues, the devs can no longer work on the game due to the lawsuit. Google for more details.
- 8. Is there a DC penalty?
- There was a system in place for test for a few days and now has been restored after rework on 2/13/20. The current penalty is a time out from queuing back up after a disconnect. Details here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/128722/
- 9. What do the claws around a survivor's icon mean?
- Those indicate who the killer's obession is. Obessions are related to certain perks and effects. If the claws are wiggling, that means the Obsession is being chased.
- 10. Why is basement hook so bad/good?
- There is only one way in and out of the basement, so if a survivor is hooked in the basement, it is more difficult for them to be safely unhooked.
