- Shit. Paloma, lying there all curled up, almost looked... cute. Cucali shook her head to rid herself of the notion, and turned away to consider her own sleeping arrangements.
- But she couldn't get Paloma out of her head. "Shit," she said, this time out loud to herself. Quietly, though; she didn't want to wake her - ugh - matesprit. Still, /wasn't/ Paloma her matesprit? She should be allowed to think whatever the hell she wanted about her!
- And speaking of things she should be allowed to do, it was cold as hell on Paloma's world with the winds that tended to knock around the cliffs. Cucali reasoned with herself about the reason why she sat down next to Paloma, easing herself into a prone position. She was cold, Paloma was warm. That's all there was to it. Easy.
- She scooched forward and wrapped her arms around Paloma's waist, gently. Still, Paloma stirred, and Cucali cursed herself.
- "Nnnh...?"
- "S'alright, mossyblood," Cucali kept her voice low. "It's just me."
- "Cucali," Paloma murmured, half-asleep, turning around in the merc's grip and nestling against her side. "Hello..."
- She rolled her single eye at Paloma's sappy antics. "Hi to you too. Now go the fuck to sleep," she murmured.
- As Paloma closed her eyes and relaxed against her, Cucali let herself lean down and kiss the mossblood's forehead.
- "... pity you," Paloma murmured, smiling.
- "Yeah, yeah," Cucali couldn't help sounding fond as she dismissed Paloma, and so she covered it up, going on to say: "Just shut up already, we don't got all day to sleep."
- Cucali held Paloma protectively as they drifted off to sleep, to Propsit.
