Bio:
Third and youngest child and second daughter of Tatalian minor nobility, Grietje was intended from birth to follow in the steps of her equestrian ancestors who had long ago earned their surname and nobility through feats of arms. Though the same was expected of her elder siblings, their higher positions in succession meant they had other priorities while Grietje was often allowed to dedicate herself almost entirely to training. She became the most skilled rider of the three of them, even as she began to realize that her true interests lay somewhere else.

Due to their status as a vassal house of Vuckerbecke, Grietje was sent early in her childhood to the count's court, where she grew familiar with the count and his family as well as became good friends with Cedric, one of the count's wards. She was eventually appointed as a retainer to the count's family, which both served as a political advantage for her own family as well as a still relatively safe position for her as a spare should anything happen to her brother and sister.

Grietje is a natural optimist and a bit of a naive idealist, but serves to the best of her ability and has good instincts in combat despite her inexperience. Lately she has been somewhat restless given the happenings in the court, wondering if she wants more from life than being a retainer and likely eventually receiving a carefully arranged marriage of her own.
