  1. Some would call the world a cruel and untamed place. Others would call the world the perfect place to be, no matter the place. And even more would say that the places within the world are just as cruel as the world itself. For a quintet of adventurers, though, their current predicament was the only thing that was even crueler than the world at hand. Those five adventurers - a Caorern, two Cu Siths, an elf, and a Cait Sith - were currently pressing themselves against the nearest wall, their eyes wide and their hearts beating against their rib cages. A good portion of them were in their sleepwear, and at least a few of them looked to be like they had just gotten rudely woken up from their fight with the sandman.
  2. “Shite… Are ye’ kiddin’ me? I ruddy knew this place was ‘aunted! I ruddy knew it!” One of the Cu Siths, a male with fur as green as grass, glares at the rest of his companions. His nerves were on edge, and he certainly didn’t want to stay there any longer. Even now, he could feel his member throbbing within his pants from his heart beating a mile a minute. Of course, judging from his predicament, the only thing that was on his mind aside from his compatriots was something that was a bit more… explosive. Indeed, the only thing that was keeping his mind occupied was a shrill, ghostly cackle in the air, and a rather large cannon that was pointed right at his group.
  3. “Well, it ain’t really somethin’ that I c’n control, now, izzit?” Another of the canine’s companions, a female elf with her long orange hair tied back into a neat braid, was trying to wipe the sleep away from her eyes at the moment. After being woken up by a massive explosion and the sound of splintering wood, there wasn’t much that she could do to not look grumpy. “Oh, why couldn’t we just stay at the Inn earlier…? Now we’re dealin’ with all o’ this shit!” And like that, the elf presses one of her palms against her face.
  4. “We didn’t have the money, Clementine!” The next one to speak was the Caorern, a male with a pair of gnarled ram’s horns curling out from the sides of his head. Currently, he’s pressed up against the wall as well, the only thing that tells of his time in dreamland being the nightcap that was perched on top of his head. “I do not care what you are thinking, if we do not have the coin, then we do not have the coin!”
  5. “Oh, will the two of you please shut up!? We’re in rather dire straits here!” This one, a rather disheveled-looking Cait Sith. She has her hair up in a rather tight bun, and is currently hunched over in a fear-ridden ball, and judging from the baggage she’s carrying under her eyes, the only thing that she had gotten throughout the night was angry. She glares towards the cannon in front of them, the fuse quickly sparking with a ghostly cackle.
  6. “Oh sssshit!!” The other Cu Sith, a female with fur as tan as a burlap sack, shouts out into the air, her eyes widening from the sight of the cannon’s fuse lighting itself. Without another word, she quickly hunches over into a ball before trying to make herself look as small as she possibly could in that moment. Most of the others quickly do the same - the green-furred canine hunching himself over towards the elf, and the feline quickly trying to hold onto the female canine without another word.
  7. The dragon, on the other hand, quickly looks towards his left and his right for a moment or two, his mind racing and trying to figure out where he could go so he wouldn’t get-

  9. KRA-KOOM!!!
  10.
  11. All at once, the only sound that anyone could hear was the sound of powder exploding its way outward, followed by the crack of an iron ball tearing through a bundle of plate armor. The dragon’s eyes quickly widen before he’s slammed backward into the wall - his eyes quickly losing their shimmer of life as that iron cannon ball launches its way through his chest. The next thing that anyone could hear in that moment was the sound of splintering wood…
  12. Though, that sound is quickly drowned out by the sight of flames spewing their way out from that hole in the wall, before the wood splinters and starts to glow with the light of a flame… In that moment, the only thing that could be seen were the silhouettes of those five adventurers - the Cu Siths each screaming a silent scream before the fire engulfed each of them, their fur quickly becoming swept up within the flames. The elf was next, with her braid becoming undone by the sheer shockwave from behind her. She winces for a moment or two before quickly slamming to the floor under a bundle of wood and cinder.
  13. The Cait Sith was the next to be engulfed, the flames and the wood splintering their way past her head. With each little charred splinter, her hair quickly becomes engulfed and tousled before becoming burnt to nothing more than ash. And with barely a reaction of his own, the dragon’s body quickly becomes engulfed within that flame, the only thing that could even be recognisable within the wreckage being nothing but his torn and charred nightcap.
  14. The fireball quickly causes everything within the room to become dotted with bits of flaming debris, as well as the remains of the room’s last occupants… Of course, after a moment or two of fire clicking itself out, the sound of a bone-chilling cackle pierces the air before a small ball of glowing blue flame rises up from the front of the (now splinter-covered) cannon. It quickly rises up for a moment or two before slowly snuffing itself down to nothing more than an ember.
  15.
  16. “GYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA~!!!”
