  1. Why the DA is not improving no matter getting new links
  2. I know very well that DA is just a metric by Moz and it's not a ranking factor.

  14. However it is another metric that is good to improve.
  15.
  16. So, I really wonder why I don't see any changes during the last 1.5 year for one of myDA38websites which has aDR72Ahrefs rating with thousands of links.
  17. In the meantime there is so much content and new links added. Also audits take place regularly.
  18. Do u have in your mind any tool, like Semrush or Ahrefs that can really show you any problematic areas that will help you understand what is the issue?
  19. Short answer... no.
  20. These are independent metrics not tied to anything one can easily action.
  21. Do u have in your mind any tool,
  22. Nothing whatsoever, I have tested some for about 5 minutes and removed them but, admitedly, haven't tried one in years, maybe 10+.
  23.
  24. Here's maybe a crazy analogy for you.
  25.
  26. How do you know what's going on inside a factory if you're not allowed in to do a full analysis of what's going on there? Sure you may be able to count trucks going in and out however without detailed information what else could you glean without full access to everything happening?
  27.
  28. In all of my factories raw material can be seen going in however without either being inside to see the production or access to shipping documents, no one would know the products being shipped out in a container.
  29.
  30. Of course IF you have access to specific data then you could start to make some reasonable assumptions however you would have to be very specialised in undrstanding it, like me, or you would simply be trying to make reasonable assumption at best or most likely, guesses.
  31.
  32. Would those assumptions of guesses bt reasonable or simply based upon "free data" acquired from other industries?
  33.
  34. These are independent metrics not tied to anything one can easily action.
  35. Precisely, successful businesses try not to reveal / leak essential data advantages.
  36. @RedBar i don't see any connection of your example with my case.
  37. As I have already mentioned, i do perform Audits and I have a good idea of what is happening inside my "factory".
  38.
  39. Now going back to the DA, well it's not the Coca Cola recipe, we do know that is related to the links acquisition. The question is what links are more helpful. As I may think that for example some recent DA60 links should be good, but maybe they are not so good for us at the end.
  40. DA is only important to Moz. It has nothing to do with Google except ye olde Moz correlation antics and marketing hype. If you want to work towards a high DA for its own sake then by all means do so, however if you are working towards a high DA as a method/indicator of a higher Google position in query results you need to put down the kool-aid and replace with actual SEO, i.e. research, hypothesise, test, rinse and repeat.
  41.
  42. DA is a third party WAG tool and that’s all it is.
  43. You are assuming that whatever data they consider as relevant to be significantly important to your site ... IMHO they're just guessing, may be good guesses, may be completely worthless.
  44.
  45. Insofar as backlinks are concerned, hmmm, blackhatting techniques and keyword spamming seem to be more effective!
  46.
  47. Don't get wrapped-up too much with their sales hype.
