  1. >Lincoln threw the comic book across the living room.
  2. >Stupid, stupid, stupid!
  3. >Ace Savvy would NEVER resort to using his electron disassembler cannon against someone like The White Rook. Never!
  4. >And they treated the King of Games as yet another plot coupon instead of the eldritch evil he was under Liang.
  5. >Stupid Ehrman with his stupid writing.
  6. >And the hiatus was back too!
  7. >"Lincoln, what's the matter?"
  8. >Lynn Sr. stood before the fuming Lincoln with the comic book caught in his hairline.
  9. >"Ehrman's a hack! Tobiasson wasted his efforts drawing this comic! Rrrrgh!"
  10. >Lynn sat down next to Lincoln, putting his arm around him.
  11. >"Lincoln, it's not that big a deal."
  12. >"Says you! You didn't have to wait six months for THIS."
  13. >"Watch your tone, young man."
  14. >Lincoln shrunk back a little.
  15. >"Sorry."
  16. >Lynn took the comic book out of his hair.
  17. >"Did I ever tell you I used to read comics? This was back when they were fifty cents an issue and Paul's pharmacy had buy-two-get-one-free deals".
  18. >Lincoln knew his dad was a weirdo and an old man who was past his prime, but never had he pegged him for reading comics.
  19. >"My favorite was never Ace Savvy, but I always read stuff from Unusual Stories. And they had this ongoing comic called... uh... 'Kricfar, the Outlander'."
  20. >"Kricfar the what?"
  21. >"Don't worry about it. The creator got arrested for smuggling fifteen pounds of drugs into canada and died in jail a few years ago."
  22. >Lincoln was taken aback.
  23. >"But when he got arrested and they brought on a new writer, I was so mad because those storiess were so bad that pop-pop threw me out the house and made me play outside."
  24. >"And what's the moral to this story, Dad?"
  25. >Lynn smiled.
  26. >"There isn't one, champ. I just need you to go play outside instead of sitting inside all day."
  27. >Lincoln groaned.
  28. >"Alright, dad."
  29. >Lincoln got up and headed outside.
  30. >"And can you please take out the trash too? It's starting to smell."
