  4. It wasn't that long ago that most of the countries of the world were actually monarchies. Our first example, Italy, was a monarchy until the end of World War II, when it became a republic. However, we are going to start our discussion of world history with the end of the Napoleonic era.

  6. The two most important events during the Napoleonic era are the Battle of Waterloo, which ended the Waterloo Campaign, and the signing of the Treaty of Paris, which ended the War of the Sixth Coalition.

  8. The War of the Sixth Coalition was fought between the Allied powers and Napoleon Bonaparte and his supporters. It began in 1813 with the French invasion of Russia and ended in 1815 with the signing of the Treaty of Paris. The Treaty of Paris ended the war and established peace in Europe. The treaty, signed at the Palace of Versailles on May 30, 1815, was the end of the War of the Sixth Coalition.
