  1. 22:29] Andras would glance to his left in order to discern who would be fighting alongside him. The prospect of war-games was not nearly as intimidating as battling a Knight in one-on-one combat, even if they were pulling punches! He found himself studying his comrades and trying to immediately discern what their strengths may be.
  2.
  3. "My name's Andras, let us work well together and be able to depend upon one another. I haven't done this sort of thing before, but I know team-work and coordination is going to make the difference. Let's watch each other's backs." He states quietly, only to join in on the huddle.
  4. (Andras)
  5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6.
  7. [22:29] Calciphier Fooma asks, "Who has a weapon?"
  8. [22:30] {Item} You picked up Broadsword. Dropped by Zachary Retinea. .
  9. [22:30] Calciphier Fooma says, "If anyone wants their weapons sharpened I can..."
  10. [22:30] {Item} You drop Broadsword.
  11. [22:30] {Item} You picked up Broadsword. Dropped by Andras. .
  12. [22:30] {Item} You drop Broadsword.
  13. [22:30] Atrosus Vandigan says, "No time."
  14. [22:30] Atrosus Vandigan says, "You don't have time to sharpen weapons as you're marching on the field."
  15. [22:30] Atrosus Vandigan says, "Should've done so already."
  16. [22:31] Calciphier Fooma says, "Mmm..."
  17. [22:31] Calciphier Fooma says, "Then I'll have to prepare something else..."
  18. [22:31] Julia upon hearing that this would be a massive spar of sorts smiled. This will be a better test of skills then a simple one on one fight. This was a lot more like what real combat would be like, and the thought of that excited her. She then began to prepare her magic so that way she was ready the second the bout started against her sparring opponents in this match. If these were to be war games everything had to be calculated out properly. Mistakes were simply not an option that could be afforded here, this was another test to becoming a knight. One that she did not intend to fail.
  19. (Julia Voss)
  20. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  21.
  22. [22:32] Right before the fight started he'd let glyphs fly onto the blade and rip themselves from it, with it the loose metal that dulled it so...
  23. (Calciphier Fooma)
  24. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  25.
  26. [22:32] Calciphier Fooma says, "Someone take it, it's stronger, not my best but it'll have to do."
  27. [22:32] The whispering would end, and the Cadet would form up into a line with the rest. Slowly would the sword be drawn from his side. He had tried to speak strategy...he only hoped they would listen. Berrios would look towards the older knight next to them, surprised that they were actually taking part in the activity. Even worse, Vandigan on the other side. Unfair? Perhaps.
  28.
  29. Afraid? Justly so.
  30.
  31. The blade would be held in an outstretched hand as warmth began to coalesce around him. Like sparks igniting, the sudden burst of flames would lick upwards from his feet before surrounding him fully. The grass underneath scorched only slightly, the flames moving with his body. Eyes falling to Cristovan a moment, a thin smile on his face just for a moment, before vanishing.
  32.
  33. "Good luck."
  34. (Berrios Falstaff)
  35. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36.
  37. [22:33] Zack pulls his greatsword over his shoulder and ignites in a passive shroud of mana, though it does spark a florescent blue making it different than usual.
  38.
  39. His classic combat stance. His right foot forward and right high above his left on the hilt. The blade is angled up and aimed at the Exarch.
  40. (Zachary Retinea)
  41. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  42.
  43. [22:33] Calciphier Fooma asks, "Anyone?"
  44. [22:33] Andras whispers: It would do us best to take out the weaker, multiple opponents first, I think. It'll take us too long to take out the Exarch, if we could even manage it.
  45. [22:34] Berrios Falstaff whispers: Soloin, Julia. Cristovan, then Iskan.
  46. [22:34] Hearing wargames, he hadn't heard that term before. He could only assume. Moving over to the Essharian side, he would look over his teammates. Have Julia is a slight relief due to how she handled the last sparring match. Then seeing Sir Vandigan himself join out side, he feels like this might be easy. Not wanting to jinx it he forgot the thought.
  47.
  48. He would unsheathe his greatsword on his back and gets into the Fomorian stance. "Time to show you how my training went, Vandigan Sir!" As he easily evokes his magic. Readying himself for the mock combat.
  49. (Solon Tofusin )
  50. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  51.
  52. [22:34] Swallowing the lump that built in his throat, all comfort faded into something akin to danger. He immediately knew this was not going to be the training they had done before. But, was he really expecting the same thing all over again?
  53.
  54. The Cadet looks over to his friend and gives a nod of his head. "You too. May the best squad win." But, of course, he has to throw in a smirk, "I'm gonna do my best." Settling by his squad he prepares himself, mentally and physically.
  55. (Cristóvan)
  56. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  57.
  58. [22:34] Berrios Falstaff whispers: Everyone register that?
  59. [22:34] Andras whispers: Aye.
  60. [22:35] The young knight cracked a wide smile as he slipped over to his side of the field, one hand leisurely reaching up to remove the ornate stave he oft kept strapped to the back of his cloak.
  61.
  62. "Alright, so. The plan is simple fer' me, my friends. I'll be lookin' ta' try an' keep the Exarch at bay, while you all get ta' try and take out the cadets, and hope I last long enough fer' ya' ta' be victorious and support me ta' victory." Erick cheerfully remarked, left arm leisurely motioning towards the giant of the man standing in the midst of the crowd of young cadets.
  63.
  64. Without warning, a thick shell of stone abruptly jutted out of the ground, ripping apart the soft soil below as it quickly submerged the blonde-haired knight in a dusty layer of protective muck and mire.
  65.
  66. "That bein' said. I'll not be lastin' too long against the Exarch, so I suggest ya' all make quick work outta' the others."
  67. (Erick Falstrik)
  68. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  69.
  70. [22:35] He'd put a great deal of his temporary power in that blade, he prepared now only to dash and swing with everything within him at their chosen target.
  71. (Calciphier Fooma)
  72. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  73.
  74. [22:35] Berrios Falstaff whispers: Watch out for water beams, boys.
  75. [22:35] Atrosus took position on the field, rolling his shoulders and cracking his knuckles. "Combat is unfair and brutal! When you're outnumbered fifteen to one because the enemy ambushed your patrol, they won't leave because you called them rude!"
  76.
  77. "You have to ADAPT!"
  78.
  79. Ashy plumes began to drift from his form, slowly drifting to the ground.
  80.
  81. "First one to fall is eliminated from the next round."
  82.
  83. And he suddenly charged forward to strike at the opposing team of Cadets.
  84. (Atrosus Vandigan)
  85. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  86.
  87. [22:36] Berrios Falstaff whispers: Soloin, Julia. Cristovan, Iskan.
  88. [22:37] Calciphier Fooma whispers: go for solon first
  89. [22:38] Berrios Falstaff whispers something.
  90. [22:41] Andras says, "Tch..."
  91. [22:41] Erick Falstrik exclaims, "Haha!"
  92. [22:41] Atrosus Vandigan says, "Solon! Stand to the side! You may not participate in the next round."
  93. [22:41] Erick Falstrik exclaims, "Didn't expect anythin' less, Exarch!"
  94. [22:41] Berrios Falstaff says, "-Hrk."
  95. [22:41] Solon Tofusin says, "Yes, Sir."
  96. [22:41] Iskan rolls his shoulders a bit, ready to keep going.
  97. (Iskan Furthis)
  98. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  99.
  100. [22:41] Zachary Retinea says, "Huddle Up."
  101. [22:42] Julia smiles, "Well lets see how round two goes..." She then takes a swig from her flask just before the second match starts ready for the next round to start.
  102. (Julia Voss)
  103. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  104.
  105. [22:42] He'd soon realize that 3 people were on him at once, the reality that he'd been outmatched didn't hit until Atrosus sent a derailing punch sending him flying back, and slamming into the ground. "~~~~_~~_~~~~~~~~_~~~~~~~_~~~_~~~~" ,he mumbled something as he rose, before standing and saying aloud, "Pain is weakness leaving the body" ,he then collected himself and rejoined with his fellow Astyans.
  106. (Calciphier Fooma)
  107. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  108.
  109. [22:43] Zachary Retinea whispers: The Exarch is going for this guy in the black and gold coat. So let em. first we take down that water user. Then focus on the one in red and from there we can take it.
  110. [22:43] He'd been on the opposing end of allies. It was like a real war battle. Despite knowing that they weren't going to be killing each other, it still felt like the danger was as present. And being on the opposing end of the blade Berrios wielded was not a good feeling.
  111.
  112. They weren't killing, right?
  113.
  114. The strange sense of unease returns.
  115. (Cristóvan)
  116. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  117.
  118. [22:43] Andras was now soaking wet, though his expression remains surprisingly solemn as his right hand plants itself upon his shoulder. An audible pop occurs as he sharply exhales, working out the kinks along his body. They certainly hit hard, but he could easily discern the massive threat before them laid with their 'leader'. Alas, there wasn't much to be done about it, and he brandishes his blade as he settles into a fighting stance. Why was he struggling so much to be able to do what the others could? They shot off water and fire, but ultimately he was just swinging his blade.
  119.
  120. He doesn't seem to cast any actual elemental magic, outside of sword-play...
  121. (Andras)
  122. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  123.
  124. [22:43] Calciphier Fooma whispers: go for Iskan next?
  125. [22:44] Calciphier Fooma whispers: go for Iskan
  126. [22:44] Calciphier Fooma whispers: take him out fast too...
  127. [22:44] Andras whispers: Leave it to me.
  128. [22:44] Erick quickly twisted his neck, issuing a loud *Pop* with a sudden motion as a thick chunk of stone suddenly cracked off from his shell, the jagged shard listlessly falling down to the soil below.
  129.
  130. "C'mon Exarch. Round two, let's see if'n I can't score one fer' the underdogs this time, aye?" he cheered, eyes still ever-focused on the gargantuan figure that served as his sole focus in battle.
  131. (Erick Falstrik)
  132. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  133.
  134. [22:44] Calciphier Fooma whispers: go for Iskan
  135. [22:44] Andras whispers: Spread out so they can't hit us with large attacks.
  136. [22:47] Focused on by two people is a bit much for the untrained Iskan. collapses in a slide as he breathes heavy, wondering what he did wrong compared to the last round. He leans up on two arms, watching the battle unfold from his spot.
  137. (Iskan Furthis)
  138. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  139.
  140. [22:47] Erick Falstrik says, "Good job team, ya' did it."
  141. [22:48] Calciphier Fooma says, "Squad huttle"
  142. [22:48] Atrosus Vandigan exclaims, "Cadet Furthis! Step out of line!"
  143. [22:48] Calciphier Fooma says, "Last gameplan"
  144. [22:48] Calciphier Fooma says, "Come close, they can't hear"
  145. [22:48] Calciphier Fooma whispers: Julia now
  146. [22:48] Calciphier Fooma whispers: We take her down first
  147. [22:49] Berrios GLARES AT CRISTOVAN.
  148. (Berrios Falstaff)
  149. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  150.
  151. [22:49] Andras says, "Maintain your teamwork, guys."
  152. [22:49] Andras says, "We just need to coordinate."
  153. [22:49] Cristóvan says, "Hm.."
  154. [22:49] Calciphier Fooma whispers: GO FOR JULIA
  155. [22:50] Calciphier Fooma whispers: Once she's down, we basically win..
  156. [22:50] Zachary Retinea says, "I wonder..."
  157. [22:50] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  158. [22:50] Calciphier Fooma says, "Stick to the plan"
  159. [22:50] Calciphier Fooma says, "and we'll win"
  160. [22:50] Zachary was looking right at Julia. Subtle head tilt jabbing to the side. A challenge?
  161. (Zachary Retinea)
  162. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  163.
  164. [22:51] He'd noticed that. It wasn't hard to perceive, the lot of them seeming to tag-team. But, was his team coordinated enough to do something like that? He looks to Julia, and then towards the others, halting the words on his tongue. It wouldn't do too well to sow discord with hopes.
  165.
  166. "Mm. Alright then! Good work, both sides. Let's give it our all this last go round."
  167.
  168. He speaks with a bit of pep.
  169. (Cristóvan)
  170. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  171.
  172. [22:51] Once again, the young knight quietly cracked his knuckles, focus ever-present on the center of the enemy forces, the solitary armour-clad figure that stood over his compatriots.
  173.
  174. "Don't get cocky, my friends. We won the last fight, but we've still got another round ta' go, and I doubt the Exarch is goin' ta' let me clutch victory o'er him. So- Ya'll do yer' thing, I'm gonna' keep up my own."
  175.
  176. Single-minded as always, there was one thought in Erick's head, defeat the Exarch and his team would be victorious.
  177. (Erick Falstrik)
  178. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  179.
  180. [22:51] He'd prepare one more time, letting runes surround his blade. He'd let them also flurry around his party...
  181. (Calciphier Fooma)
  182. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  183.
  184. [22:52] Andras remains particularly quiet as he readies his blade, leveling it before him as his expression doesn't grow lax. His concentration was at an all-time high, determined to make his mark within this mock battle. His failure to ward off the demonic occult attack upon his mind had been replaying in his head for some time now. Despite this, he would make leaps and bounds in strength to make up for such a failure.
  185.
  186. "Right.."
  187. (Andras)
  188. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  189.
  190. [22:58] He's lend a hand to the Commander.
  191. (Calciphier Fooma)
  192. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  193.
  194. [22:58] Andras exhales lightly as his blade is raised to rest upon his right shoulder, droplets of water and sweat still gathered along his brow. He doesn't appear to be too roughed up despite this, though there's a hint of satisfaction in his gaze. They had coordinated well enough, and they had won due to tactics and teamwork, in his opinion.
  195. (Andras)
  196. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  197.
  198. [22:59] He gets up and rejoins the group, wondering what the verdict is. He's nursing what you may assume to be a nasty bruise on his left arm.
  199.
  200. "Well, that snowballed really fast. Once we lost one person they just tag teamed the rest one at a time."
  201.
  202. He tiredly looks to Vandigan to see what he says about it all.
  203. (Iskan Furthis)
  204. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  205.
  206. [23:00] Calciphier Fooma asks, "Iskan, it's strategy, weren't you guys going on a plan?"
  207. [23:00] Iskan Furthis says, "Not that I was aware of..."
  208. [23:00] Calciphier Fooma says, "Oh-"
  209. [23:01] It was one hell of a training exercise. The closest equivalent to a large scale battle that they've been in, and it was chaos for the young Cadet. In the end, there was nothing but a laser focus. Eyes had been set on Cristovan, a mock insult formed by the way he had hit him from the back with a tendril of water that last fight. It was the young swordsmans job to repay him in kind.
  210.
  211. Berrios would do such in spades, and more. Harassing him throughout, before breaking away near the end of the battle. The next target, then the next. And suddenly, as quickly as it had begun, it had ended. The talk of strategy had worked. Extreme prejudice, that also worked.
  212.
  213. "Hhhhn."
  214.
  215. The youth would crouch, the flames flickering before vanishing as he rested on the balls of his feet for a long moment. Head tilted slightly towards the ground.
  216. (Berrios Falstaff)
  217. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  218.
  219. [23:01] A violent spar, one that achieved precisely what he hoped it would. Even with the opposing team outmatched in magical potential, a simple tweak of the rules?
  220.
  221. And they found victory. "I want you all to take something away from this!" Atrosus said as he found his feet, having been taken down multiple times by the combined might of the enemy team. "A less powerful and coordinated team will always defeat a more powerful team that discusses nothing, plans nothing.
  222.
  223. They talked among themselves and took advantage of the rules! WHERE WAS YOUR PLANNING?" He turned to his own team. "Where was your decision to eliminate one threat at a time? Instead, you hoped that I would carry you to victory, because I am the strongest Magi here."
  224.
  225. He shook his head.
  226.
  227. "That is the lesson today. TEAMWORK. You are Magi, and you are in my Lions. You are a PRIDE, a GROUP. A chain is only as strong as the weakest link, and I have no room for weak links."
  228.
  229. Judging by the smile on his face, Atrosus seemed very satisfied with the bout.
  230. (Atrosus Vandigan)
  231. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  232.
  233. [23:01] After having to sit out on the first round disappointed with himself; He walks up to line up with the others after combat ended. He completely failed. Not really understanding what went wrong... "Good fight, I have a lot to learn..." stating that is a quite depressed voice.
  234. (Solon Tofusin )
  235. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  236.
  237. [23:02] What Atrosus said would be chaos was nothing but lucid movements and thoughts in Zachary's mind. The ability to quickly assess and act in succession between enemies while coordinating with allies was almost second nature to Zack, but his skills weren't honed and were only as powerful as his raw strength let them be.
  238.
  239. It was only after the first round that Zack learned to keep his guard up around these lot and foremost forever in battle. He was made embarrassed in the first bout and couldn't let that happen again.
  240.
  241. His blade skill was less than par as it tore through the earth and lost momentum regardless of landing blows to his opponents. What he would have to take away from this today is to improve his execution of basic skills in combat, or lack there-of.
  242. (Zachary Retinea)
  243. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  244.
  245. [23:03] Calciphier Fooma says, "You guys were an awesome team..."
  246. [23:04] He picks himself up. They didn't hit too hard, thankfully. He'll attribute it to training and thus, the blows were held back. But what does manage to knick through his skin is slowly healed to perfection by the soothing aegis of water that surrounds him.
  247.
  248. It all makes him ponder even harder. With all of these wounds, he could do more. If he could have a wider scope of attack. He didn't panick when people got in his face as much now, his mind on improving but he does feel that his arsenal is lacking.
  249.
  250. It takes too much time to perform any worthwhile moves. But, the take-away here was right. They didn't plan at all. He wouldn't say he relied on the Lion leader, but he certainly felt a lot more confident.
  251.
  252. "Understood."
  253.
  254. He nods firmly. He does understand. "You guys alright over there?"
  255.
  256. With his little knowledge he could try and shape some people up with water.
  257.
  258.
  259. (Cristóvan)
  260. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  261.
  262. [23:04] Calciphier Fooma says, "I'm good personally, the worst of it was when commander landed the sucker punch..."
  263. [23:05] Zachary Retinea asks, "Sucker punch?"
  264. [23:05] Zachary Retinea asks, "You call that a sucker punch?"
  265. [23:05] Calciphier Fooma says, "A really hard punch..."
  266. [23:05] Erick's wide grin had only seemed to spread further as he stood up to his feet, leaning upon the ornate base of his stave as support for his now slightly shaking body. After three well-fought rounds against a squadron of cadets and Vandigan himself, the exhaustion that the man now felt was more than enough to knock him on his ass.
  267.
  268. "Congratulations my friends, we won! We beat the Exarch and his squad, and as a result, we've got plenty o' reason to be proud o' ourselves! That is, until the next session, wherein the squads swap around a bit, and half o' ya' will be bitin' the dust."
  269.
  270. He shuddered briefly at the thought, casting aside the stony shell he had been encased in with the seemingly unconscious motion, before he stood up fully to face the opposing squadron.
  271.
  272. "In any case, it was a good match, cadets. Like the Exarch said, we may have won this round, but I'm expectin' that next time, ya'll will have learned your lesson, and I'll instead be face-first in the mud."
  273. (Erick Falstrik)
  274. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  275.
  276. [23:06] Properly getting in line with the other two, he'd sigh. The Exarch had a point with that planning, maybe he should focus a bit more on this. Oh well, at least it ended without him being kicked out, he thought. He'd shake himself off a bit, taking a deep breath in preparation for anything further.
  277.
  278. Did the Exarch have any more plans? He might as well be ready for anything at this point.
  279. (Iskan Furthis)
  280. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  281.
  282. [23:06] Solon Tofusin says, "I would prefer to endure my failures at the moment. Thanks for the kind gesture."
  283. [23:06] With the announcement of their win condition being given, Andras would lightly close his eyes in satisfaction. He wasn't particularly winded from that combat, but he had fun and even managed to cut loose. He took one too many water cannons to the face, but they had never managed to bring him down, all the same. The battle was not of the most importance, however. He learned that going into battle without coordination, or being able to depend upon one another was a fatal flaw that would spell disaster.
  284.
  285. "Ser Sparda told me a story related to coordination, before we arrived at the fountain. Since he's a war veteran, it only made since to rely on tactics and coordination when the enemy manages to outweigh is in magical might." He explains to his comrades, assuming not all of them completely understood. Teamwork was the key ingredient, and this was a lesson to have them all understand the importance of such.
  286.
  287. One man could not win a war, it required the hands of many, and to move as a unit. It worked with startling effectiveness, though he was positive that his group was also quite strong as individuals, as well.
  288.
  289. Who needed to depend on magic alone when a blade did wonders? Hmph.
  290. (Andras)
  291. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  292.
  293. [23:06] Calciphier Fooma says, "If not sucker, I'd call it the, "Ow holy crap I went flying like 20ft back punch""
  294. [23:06] Julia had a face of sheer annoyance on it. Since they actually coordinated with their team members they managed to win the fight. Now she felt like she was disgraced despite managing to do at the very least decent against these odds. Though she hated the fact that this was now on her track record. This disgrace of a lose so soon into her training definitely did not make her feel all to happy. She sighed took a quick drink from her flask. She wished she could properly have used ice magic during the fight. She has been getting a lot better at it. Just have not been able to actually use it in combat proper. That got on her nerves the most, out of everything in this situation that was really what got her.
  295.
  296. Everything that went on nagged at her brain. She tried her damn best, but despite everything she still failed and still had everything fall apart around her. She had plans in her head, just because she didn't speak up of course she didn't win. Her body felt as if she was going to melt and just vanish off the face of the earth. The one thing that she desperately went off of was that she would increase her best capabilities with time. Yet she had nothing to prove it. She had nothing that could possibly prove that she improved from the previous training to now. The thoughts bagged on her mind heavily as she stood there. She would keep going of course she had to for her future and everything else in her life. But, this would be a reminder that would plague her until the end of time.
  297.
  298. "Good 'bout though really I just feel like a fool." She sighed.
  299. (Julia Voss)
  300. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  301.
  302. [23:06] Zachary Retinea says, "The commander cast spells of what felt like intense heat straight from within the earth."
  303. [23:07] Zachary Retinea says, "He didn't...throw a punch..."
  304. [23:07] Erick Falstrik says, "Well, it is his specialty."
  305. [23:07] Atrosus Vandigan says, "No I punched the absolute daylights out of him at the end."
  306. [23:07] Atrosus Vandigan says, "It was satisfying."
  307. [23:07] Andras says, "He did. It looked like it really hurt."
  308. [23:07] Iskan Furthis says, "At least he's honest."
  309. [23:07] Calciphier Fooma says, "Ya, that's why I had to return the favor..."
  310. [23:07] Erick Falstrik says, "Aye."
  311. [23:07] Calciphier Fooma says, "I know I'll never get the chance again, but it was worth taking the hit before."
  312. [23:08] Calciphier Fooma says, "An eye for an eye"
  313. [23:08] Zachary Retinea says, "....Heh."
  314. [23:09] "Alright! Victors get to take a breather and put their feet in the water! Kick back! Losers! Get your axes from Sir Falstrik, and start cutting logs! I expect a hundred logs from each of you, swing until your arms feel like rags!"
  315.
  316. The Exarch pulled an axe from his own belt and headed to a tree. He was, after all, on the losing team.
  317. (Atrosus Vandigan)
  318. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  319.
  320. [23:09] Berrios Falstaff asks, "Permission to hack away, Exarch?"
  321. [23:09] Atrosus Vandigan says, "Denied."
  322. [23:10] Berrios frowns...before moving nearer to the pool.
  323. (Berrios Falstaff)
  324. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  325.
  326. [23:10] The Exarch CHOPPED AND CHOPPED AND CHOPPED SOME MORE!
  327. (Atrosus Vandigan)
  328. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  329.
  330. [23:10] Andras would pause momentarily, before stepping forward in order to approach Sir Falstrik. While the idea of relaxing sounded great and all..
  331.
  332. "We're all in this together, in my opinion. I'll help cut some trees down, if you don't mind. I could use the extra work out, if I'm going to become a Knight soon."
  333. (Andras)
  334. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  335.
  336. [23:10] Erick Falstrik exclaims, "Haha!"
  337. [23:10] Atrosus Vandigan says, "Nope. You take your rest and you like it."
  338. [23:10] "Understood, sir." he would say this right before moving to pick up one of the axes. He got to work as some as possible.
  339. (Solon Tofusin )
  340. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  341.
  342. [23:10] Berrios Falstaff whispers: ...Well, you don't have to say no to me twice.
  343. [23:10] He'd put his arm on Berrios, he was up to prove himself more than anyone but even he knew not to ask, "Take your breaks where you get them! Don't let him rethink it!"
  344. (Calciphier Fooma)
  345. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  346.
  347. [23:10] Andras says, "---Ah."
  348. [23:10] Sigrid stalks the party from a nearby tree. Her hand rests at her blade.
  349. (Sigrid)
  350. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  351.
  352. [23:10] * You have been awarded 5 Roleplay Points! *
  353. [23:10] Well. . he lost so this sort of punishment was well deserved. He streaks towards the nearest, unoccupied tree and proceeds to do his dirty work. Or, well, not before he stops by the proper place to receive the very tool he requires to do such a thing.
  354.
  355. "Good fight, Sir Falstrik."
  356.
  357. He welcomes the ability to be a bigger man and not sulk.
  358. (Cristóvan)
  359. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  360.
  361. [23:10] Julia felt truly just horrid now, sure this was good physical training. But, just chopping down trees... how would this serve as a lesson to her. "Yes sir." She sighed walking over to a batch of trees to begin chopping, though she was not pleased with herself at all.
  362. (Julia Voss)
  363. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  364.
  365. [23:10] Chop chop.
  366. (Cristóvan)
  367. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  368.
  369. [23:11] He'd audibly groan, reluctantly walking up to Erick and taking an axe. He'd inspect the axe as he turned away, hefting it over his shoulder as he walked to some trees. He approaches the tree, and grunts as he begins hacking away. His lazy demeanor even shows in how he cuts at a tree, though at the very least he seems to know how to do it well.
  370. (Iskan Furthis)
  371. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  372.
  373. [23:11] Would move over to cut the set of trees.
  374.
  375. (Solon Tofusin )
  376. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  377.
  378. [23:11] He begins to hack away.
  379. (Iskan Furthis)
  380. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  381.
  382. [23:11] Sigrid says, "Damn."
  383. [23:12] Cristóvan says, "Ugggh...my back..."
  384. [23:13] Snapping his fingers, Erick immediately conjured forth an amorphous mass of pulsating steel, the silvery material slowly fluctuated in midair, gurgling as if it had a life of its own.
  385.
  386. Immediately, the gurgling mass separated into a series of smaller globules, each of which abruptly molded themselves into an array of crude but effective sharpened tools; Six identical axes, perfect for a set of men to begin lumberjacking with.
  387.
  388. "Alright! I'll be joinin' with, 'cause I did my own thing, and ignored the group's plan! So- I'll consider that a loss." he stated abruptly, taking ahold of the sixth axe of the set, before he left the remaining five behind.
  389. (Erick Falstrik)
  390. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  391.
  392. [23:13] Zachary was silent. He had been sworn to remain so.
  393. (Zachary Retinea)
  394. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  395.
  396. [23:14] Berrios hums happily for a moment, before turning away.
  397. (Berrios Falstaff)
  398. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  399.
  400. [23:14] Berrios Falstaff says, "A 'no' would've been less guilty, by the way."
  401. [23:15] Finishing up his chopping, Atrosus went back to the center of the field, wiping off his forehead as he did so. "When the last log is collected, rejoin at the field!" He called out, rolling his shoulders and working the limberness out of them.
  402.
  403. "Because we're not finished here yet."
  404. (Atrosus Vandigan)
  405. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  406.
  407. [23:16] Andras sighs lightly as he made his way to the small pond, allowing for himself to kick back and relax. He'd actually prefer chopping trees, since that was a GREAT way to earn money, and his pockets were aching..but he wouldn't disobey orders! He proceeds to kick his shoes off for the time being, but he doesn't bask in the water for long. He eventually hops to his two feet, brandishing his blade as he dedicates some time to practicing his sword-play. Vicious arcs of glinting steel could be seen as he swings through combination attacks, darting through the grass at surprising amounts of speed.
  408.
  409. "HA! HO! HEEEYA!"
  410. (Andras)
  411. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  412.
  413. [23:16] "One hundred logs as ordered sir." She held the logs in her hand before setting them down by the small tree. She then after setting down the logs cracked her neck sighing as she heard that. "Well I guess redemption is in order then." She then went back to the field more then ready for whatever the Exarch had in store despite her livid mindset.
  414. (Julia Voss)
  415. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  416.
  417. [23:16] The sparks encompassing the young energy mage began to fluctuate and disperse over his chest. At his skill level he was beginning to maintain it without it immediately burning up and out of his control.
  418.
  419. He began to amass more mana and push it further when he heard Atrosus's command and lost his aura completely.
  420. (Zachary Retinea)
  421. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  422.
  423. [23:16] Zachary Retinea says, "This is frustrating..."
  424. [23:17] Heads over to the Exarchs direction with one hundred and five logs in his pouch. He moves moderately easy with them on his person. He would set them in front of the Exarch. "Here are your logs are per your request, Sir."
  425. (Solon Tofusin )
  426. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  427.
  428. [23:17] He approaches the center of the area with his last batch of logs. He's sweating profusely and clearly a bit winded after a mock combat and then labor. As he drops the last batch in a pile, he takes a second to look up and just catch his breath.
  429.
  430. "Ugh, why didn't we plan..." He'd say to himself, full of regret.
  431.
  432. He'd look back over to the group, beginning to make his way back to the field with the others.
  433. (Iskan Furthis)
  434. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  435.
  436. [23:21] Wiping his brow clean of the sweat that trickled down his face, Erick slowly staggered away from the most recent tree that he felled, his lead-filled arms loosely hanging by his sides as the axe he held simply dispersed into thin air, restored to the translucent mana it was once forged from.
  437.
  438. "Aye. One-hundred logs. Alright- I think I'm ready fer' the next session." he gasped between ragged breaths as he took his place off to the Exarch's side.
  439. (Erick Falstrik)
  440. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  441.
  442. [23:22] The Exarch was feeling the burn of the labor, but he could take it. His bulk, his muscle, it was practically built for such things. "Now then, I'm sure more than a couple of you are questioning." Atrosus said as he walked back before the Cadets, noticing the look on Julia's face. "Why? Why cut down logs? It's simple. I can't physically kill you, but if you fail in battle, that's precisely what will happen to you."
  443.
  444. He frowned. "You die. And for all the stories of the afterlife, of rebirth, of being cleansed by a star, do you know what I've never seen in a dying mans eyes? I've never seen him happy to go. He feels regret. He feels misery. He usually feels pain.
  445.
  446. I can't make you feel the real thing, but you can feel the misery of loss. If you don't want to cut logs on a loss? *Win*. Show you don't need to feel that driving force.
  447.
  448. I hope it burns in your hearts. Cadet Tofusin and Cadet Falstaff, step forward. You two are team leaders. You've seen random teams. Now you're going to pick them."
  449. (Atrosus Vandigan)
  450. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  451.
  452. [23:27] Hearing him be called as a team leader quite a mix of emotions. He's glad that he can chose his teammates but if they fail its on him. Stepping forward as that runs through his mind. "Yes, Sir!" He would exclaim.
  453.
  454. Once he had moved up he would turn around to face his possible teammates. Examining them, hoping he might be able to pick some good members. "Shall we flip a coin to see who goes first, Falstaff?" Looking to his left waiting for a response.
  455. (Solon Tofusin )
  456. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  457.
  458. [23:27] The words rang in his ears as he listened, that thin frown on his face still apparent. No, he hadn't been allowed to cut logs, and in truth he was happy for it. The gentle, five-minute respite from the hell of training was something that he didn't take for granted. He wanted to stand next to the others like he thought a real knight would. In the end, with his head tilted to the ground slightly, it would pay off.
  459.
  460. Ope.
  461.
  462. Berrios would take his slow step forward. Surprise was shown clearly on his face, and suddenly he began to sweat like they were running miles once more. His throat was dry. Him, a team leader? As loud as he was, he was far from being the strongest here. That, he could tell. Was that what he was looking for? Raw strength? Nah, of course not. Then what did he have over the others?
  463.
  464. He'd have to find that out.
  465.
  466. "Thank you for the opportunity, sir." He wanted his voice to be loud, but it came out as a light monotone, straightforward and to the point. Slowly, he would look at Soloin. Then, to the fellow cadets behind him.
  467.
  468. Stressed.
  469. (Berrios Falstaff)
  470. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  471.
  472. [23:28] Berrios Falstaff says, "..."
  473. [23:28] Berrios Falstaff says, "Nah. You pick first."
  474. [23:29] Solon Tofusin says, "Alright, I won't say no to a kind advantage. Thank you."
  475. [23:30] He eye'd Berrios, hoping he'd pick him.
  476. (Calciphier Fooma)
  477. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  478.
  479. [23:31] He would take a closer look at each of the people and would take into account of what abilities he knew they have. "For my first pick is... Zachary."
  480. (Solon Tofusin )
  481. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  482.
  483. [23:31] Berrios Falstaff says, "Cristovan."
  484. [23:32] Solon Tofusin says, "Second pick, is Julia."
  485. [23:32] Zachary Retinea says, "Heh."
  486. [23:32] Berrios Falstaff says, "Iskan."
  487. [23:33] He'd sigh, not having been picked a bit disappointed.
  488. (Calciphier Fooma)
  489. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  490.
  491. [23:33] Andras seems unbothered, keeping his hands wrapped behind his head.
  492. (Andras)
  493. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  494.
  495. [23:33] Solon Tofusin says, "Hmm, I choose the man that I gave me sword to earlier."
  496. [23:33] Berrios Falstaff says, "Looks like you're mine then, pal."
  497. [23:33] Berrios shoots a nod towards Andras.
  498. (Berrios Falstaff)
  499. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  500.
  501. [23:33] Andras says, "Sure."
  502. [23:33] Atrosus Vandigan asks, "Forgetting someone?"
  503. [23:34] Zachary Retinea says, "We are not."
  504. [23:34] Berrios Falstaff asks, "Skipping your pick?"
  505. [23:34] Zachary Retinea asks, "If I may?"
  506. [23:34] Erick Falstrik asks, "Exarch, want ta' be the third team in the group?"
  507. [23:34] Solon Tofusin says, "Oh... I thought you were going to sit this one out. My apologies sir. I shall choose The Exarch again."
  508. [23:34] Berrios sticks his tongue out slightly, before throwing a finger towards Erick.
  509. (Berrios Falstaff)
  510. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  511.
  512. [23:34] Erick Falstrik says, "Seems we're not bein' -ahh, a pity."
  513. [23:34] Zachary Retinea asks, "If the commanders join the field again, how are we supposed to learn on our own?"
  514. [23:35] Berrios Falstaff says, "We're the commanders, bro."
  515. [23:35] Iskan Furthis says, "The Exarch is one guy"
  516. [23:35] Atrosus Vandigan says, "The team that fought against me did just fine before."
  517. [23:35] Andras asks, "We're fighting in groups, how are you learning on your own, anyway?"
  518. [23:35] Atrosus Vandigan says, "I'd say they learned plenty."
  519. [23:35] Andras says, "You don't fight wars alone."
  520. [23:35] Solon Tofusin says, "I'll take the left side of the field."
  521. [23:35] Atrosus Vandigan says, "Sir Falstrik. Offer no guidance or words."
  522. [23:35] Zachary Retinea says, "Right then, if that is how everyone feels I retract my statement."
  523. [23:36] Zachary Retinea asks, "Let's huddle up?"
  524. [23:36] Berrios motions towards Andras, and Iskan.
  525. (Berrios Falstaff)
  526. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  527.
  528. [23:36] Zachary Retinea whispers something.
  529. [23:36] Erick Falstrik says, "Alright! Let's win this."
  530. [23:36] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  531. [23:36] Berrios ...motions HARDER.
  532. (Berrios Falstaff)
  533. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  534.
  535. [23:36] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  536. [23:36] Berrios Falstaff says, "Guys, come on."
  537. [23:37] Solon Tofusin whispers something.
  538. [23:37] Zachary Retinea whispers something.
  539. [23:37] Erick Falstrik whispers: So, they're gonna' clearly focus one o' us ta' remove us from the fight. So. Who're we focusin' with them?
  540. [23:37] Iskan Furthis whispers: Zachary.
  541. [23:37] Berrios Falstaff whispers something.
  542. [23:37] Berrios Falstaff whispers something.
  543. [23:37] Berrios Falstaff whispers something.
  544. [23:37] Erick Falstrik whispers: Fair 'nough.
  545. [23:38] Cristóvan whispers something.
  546. [23:38] Solon Tofusin whispers something.
  547. [23:38] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  548. [23:38] Iskan Furthis whispers: if one of us is getting wailed on, just defend yerself. Bide yer time.
  549. [23:38] Cristóvan whispers something.
  550. [23:38] Berrios Falstaff whispers something.

  556. [23:39] Zachary Retinea whispers something.
  557. [23:39] Iskan Furthis whispers: Longer you can hold against being tag teamed, longer the rest of us have.
  558. [23:39] Cristóvan whispers something.
  559. [23:39] Solon Tofusin whispers something.
  560. [23:39] Berrios Falstaff whispers something.

  563. [23:39] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  564. [23:39] Berrios puts his hand into the square, looking at each in turn.
  565. (Berrios Falstaff)
  566. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  567.
  568. [23:39] Erick Falstrik whispers: Aye, let's go for it.
  569. [23:39] Iskan Puts a... Hand in?
  570. (Iskan Furthis)
  571. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  572.

  580. [23:39] Julia Voss whispers something.
  581. [23:39] Erick shoves his hand into the square, hooray comradery.
  582. (Erick Falstrik)
  583. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  584.

  586. [23:39] Berrios Falstaff exclaims, "Hic Sunt Leones!"
  587. [23:39] Erick Falstrik exclaims, "Punch 'em in the dicks!"
  588. [23:39] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  589. [23:39] Berrios Falstaff exclaims, "--?!"
  590. [23:39] Iskan Furthis exclaims, "Hic sunt leo- Wait what?!"
  591. [23:39] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  592. [23:39] Cristóvan asks, "H--whuh?"

  595. [23:40] Cristóvan asks, "The heck does that mean, Cheerios?"
  596. [23:40] Iskan Furthis says, "Erick yer too into this."
  597. [23:40] Zachary Retinea whispers something.
  598. [23:40] Berrios smiles.
  599. (Berrios Falstaff)
  600. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  601.
  602. [23:40] Berrios Falstaff says, "Here, be lions."
  603. [23:40] Berrios Falstaff asks, "Gotta show the pride, right?"
  604. [23:40] Solon Tofusin whispers something.
  605. [23:40] Julia Voss whispers something.
  606. [23:41] Solon Tofusin whispers something.
  607. [23:41] Zachary Retinea says, "Understood. "
  608. [23:42] Solon Tofusin says, "We're ready, let us know when you all are."
  609. [23:44] The moment the huddle dispersed, Erick quickly strode forward to the front of the squadron, his form fully encased in a shell of conjured stone. Once again, the man was fully ready to enter the fray and knock some heads.
  610.
  611. "Alright, accordin' ta' plan, I'm gonna' go and tackle the Exarch again, and you all will do yer' own thing, 'kay? 'Kay." he stated calmly, stave held tightly within his grip as he stared dead-on towards the gargantuan figure in the midst of the enemy squadron.
  612.
  613. War games were always so much fun, win or lose.
  614. (Erick Falstrik)
  615. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  616.
  617. [23:44] Atrosus grinned as his squad discussed, staying silent the entire time. It was good to hear them trying to determine a plan, what was too risky, what was too complicated. It was good to see them trying to create order in chaos.
  618.
  619. "LIONS!" He shouted as they formed a battle line. "LET THEM HEAR YOU ROAR!" His staff raised to the air, and a deep baritone shout left the man, a battle cry that would echo for hundreds of feet around.
  620. (Atrosus Vandigan)
  621. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  622.
  623. [23:44] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  624. [23:45] A lions pride. Still uneased, the whispering square would break off, Berrios walking with a stronger pep in his step. He didn't have to helm the conversation, but words were listened to. Each heavily weighed, and their decisions made. Once more into the breach, his sword would be drawn, a hand running along its length before both he and the weapon would burst into flames. His proclamation, the motto he had spoken before, coming from a determined voice.
  625.
  626. "Hic Sunt Leones!"
  627.
  628. Here Be Lions.
  629.
  630. There chances were strong, just as strong as they were before. The teams had been swapped up, and his picks had been partial bias. He just hoped it was a good idea.
  631. (Berrios Falstaff)
  632. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  633.
  634. [23:45] Zachary Retinea says, "alright let me see everyone re-ready so i can be sure everyone in"
  635. [23:45] Julia sighed. Well it was time to redeem herself, lets just hope that everything goes according to plan. If it doesn't then improvisation would definitely have to be made. But, plans always had something that could easily go off course. She knew that due to her spar with Khaine. She had to learn fast how to try and use the battlefield to her advantage. Yet could she, when she felt so limited on her options.
  636.
  637. Bah, those were just the negative thoughts from the past. Right now its time to redeem herself one way or another. She then let out a battle cry sounding less like a lions roar and more of a roar that would come from an actual dragon. She really did not prepare for that one. But ya know lets just hope no one was paying attention when it happened.
  638. (Julia Voss)
  639. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  640.
  641. [23:45] Solon would quickly enter his Fomorian stance, and evokes his flames around his body. He needs this training perhaps more than anyone else here. Now he also is a leader, added stress.
  642.
  643. After hearing the Exarch's battle call, he would follow. "Lets get'em Lions! HORRAH!
  644. (Solon Tofusin )
  645. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  646.
  647. [23:45] Calciphier Fooma says, "Oof."
  648. [23:46] Atrosus Vandigan says, "Same rules as before. The first to drop is out for the count."
  649. [23:49] Andras whispers: (we gotta change targets now..)
  650. [23:49] Cristóvan whispers: [I'm tellin u, julia...]
  651. [23:50] Berrios Falstaff whispers: Solon, then Zack
  652. [23:50] Berrios Falstaff whispers: Solon, Zachary. Julia, Cal.
  653. [23:51] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  654. [23:52] Solon Tofusin whispers something.
  655. [23:55] Solon Tofusin says, "Well I guess I'm out."
  656. [23:56] Calciphier Fooma asks, "Wait what?"
  657. [23:56] Erick Falstrik exclaims, "Great job, guys!"
  658. [23:56] Zachary Retinea says, "These teams seem pretty even. "
  659. [23:56] Erick Falstrik exclaims, "Also. Terrible job, guys!"
  660. [23:56] Iskan Furthis says, "Not sure if I was getting focused or if I was just in the thick of everything. That start was er... Chaotic."
  661. [23:56] Zachary Retinea asks, "Does he really need to step out?"
  662. [23:56] Calciphier Fooma says, "Yep"
  663. [23:56] Atrosus Vandigan says, "There are casualties in battle. He does."
  664. [23:56] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  665. [23:56] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  666. [23:56] Erick Falstrik whispers: Okay, so this is a bit o' a hot take. However.
  667. [23:56] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  668. [23:56] Erick Falstrik whispers: Let's take out the Exarch first, yeah?
  669. [23:56] Andras whispers: We just need to continue amassing casualties.
  670. [23:56] Julia Voss whispers something.
  671. [23:56] Berrios Falstaff whispers: This for true strategy, or you having a hard-on for him, sir?
  672. [23:56] Andras whispers: Focus on the weaker targets and strike them down first.
  673. [23:56] Erick Falstrik whispers: I feel like that'd be a guaranteed win, if'n we succeed.
  674. [23:57] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  675. [23:57] Andras whispers: It's best to take the safer, more efficient route.
  676. [23:57] Zachary Retinea whispers something.
  677. [23:57] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  678. [23:57] Berrios Falstaff whispers: ...He has the most area, and hits the hardest.
  679. [23:57] Erick Falstrik whispers: It aint no fun if'n ya' just play it safe the whole time, y'know.
  680. [23:57] Berrios Falstaff whispers: The Exarch it is.
  681. [23:57] Berrios Falstaff whispers: Right into the Lions Maw.
  682. [23:57] Cristóvan whispers: I'm fine with that route.
  683. [23:57] Andras whispers: If we're taking this as war, this isn't about fun.
  684. [23:57] Iskan Furthis whispers: That's a lofty goal. I suppose we can try. Go for the throat, then.
  685. [23:57] Andras whispers: These are our lives.
  686. [23:57] Berrios Falstaff whispers something.
  687. [23:57] Erick Falstrik whispers: Aye, but think o' the glory, yeah?
  688. [23:57] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  689. [23:58] Andras whispers: Glory means nothing when your comrades are being buried beside you.
  690. [23:58] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  691. [23:58] Berrios rolls his neck, edged on by the words of the knight before him. A thin slice of a smile.
  692. (Berrios Falstaff)
  693.
  694. [00:00] Grasping ahold of his stave, Erick quietly shook loose a thin layer of jagged shards from his form, showering his surrounding in a rain of stone shrapnel.
  695.
  696. "Alright, accordin' ta' plan, fellows. I target the Exarch, and ya' all do your own thing again, aye?" he repeated once more, as if he was one big broken recording.
  697. (Erick Falstrik)
  698. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  699.
  700. [00:00] While he wasn't supposed to be carrying his team, well... They'd learn nothing if Atrosus held back, and it was necessary anyway. Everyone down but himself, against three...
  701.
  702. And still, he forced them to the ground.
  703.
  704. "I said let them hear you ROAR!"
  705. (Atrosus Vandigan)
  706. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  707.
  708. [00:00] Zachary Retinea exclaims, "Dont buy it!"
  709. [00:02] Erick Falstrik exclaims, "Haha! Glory!"
  710. [00:02] Andras says, "Looks like I outlasted 'em."
  711. [00:02] Erick Falstrik exclaims, "I told ya' all!"
  712. [00:02] Erick Falstrik exclaims, "Take the head, and they all come crumblin' down!"
  713. [00:02] He'd saw as he managed to drop that one man, but left his efforts soon in vain as the last 3 of the team finished him.
  714. (Calciphier Fooma)
  715. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  716.
  717. [00:02] Iskan Furthis says, "That... Worked really well."
  718. [00:03] Julia Voss whispers something.
  719. [00:03] Zachary gets up with a loud battle cry and holds his blade out to Erick.
  720.
  721.
  722. (Zachary Retinea)
  723. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  724.
  725. [00:03] Andras picked himself up as he dusted himself off, smirking subtly as he looks upon the enemy team. It required three of them to focus upon him, but it would seem that he was able to out-maneuver them long enough to achieve the critical blow. He rolls his shoulders slowly, only to direct his blade toward the enemy team. Yeah, this was about to get real.
  726. (Andras)
  727. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  728.
  729. [00:03] Erick Falstrik says, "Aye. Let me take on Cadet Retinea by myself."
  730. [00:03] Erick Falstrik asks, "Ya' all cool with it?"
  731. [00:04] Calciphier Fooma says, "commander"
  732. [00:04] Calciphier Fooma says, "Come ehre"
  733. [00:04] The young cadet would hop from one foot, to the next. Flames licking around him, seeming to build like a bonfire as his shoulders squared and they set forth for the final bout!
  734.
  735. "Hic Sunt Leones!"
  736. (Berrios Falstaff)
  737. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  738.
  739. [00:04] Julia Voss whispers something.
  740. [00:04] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  741. [00:04] Iskan Furthis says, "Er, yeah.. Hic.. Whatever."
  742. [00:04] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  743. [00:04] Erick quietly lifted his stave in return, pointing it directly towards Zachary, his shit-eating grin ever-present on his mug.
  744.
  745. "Let's have some fun, cadet." he stated calmly, eyes twinkling with evident delight.
  746. (Erick Falstrik)
  747. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  748.
  749. [00:04] Iskan yawns again
  750. (Iskan Furthis)
  751. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  752.
  753. [00:04] Zachary Retinea whispers something.
  754. [00:04] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  755. [00:05] Zachary Retinea whispers something.
  756. [00:05] Zachary Retinea whispers something.
  757. [00:05] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  758. [00:05] Julia Voss whispers something.
  759. [00:07] Zachary Retinea says, "Almost...had you....bastard...."
  760. [00:08] Zachary Retinea asks, "Permission to speak freely sir?"
  761. [00:08] Erick Falstrik says, "Aye, you were close, my friend/"
  762. [00:08] Calciphier Fooma says, "Tell me I wasn't the first to fall..."
  763. [00:08] Andras says, "You were."
  764. [00:08] Calciphier Fooma says, "Dammit..."
  765. [00:09] He chuckles, stepping into place. Not much damage on him in that last bout but nonetheless he can feel the sweat fade away now that it was over and victory was soundly within thier grasp. He moves to stand next to his team, proud in victory as he had been in defeat.
  766.
  767. "Good fight, everyone."
  768. (Cristóvan)
  769. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  770.
  771. [00:09] Calciphier Fooma says, "Then I won't waste anyones time..."
  772. [00:09] Cristóvan says, "It was tough."
  773. [00:09] He'd pull out an axe he had on him, and he'd start straight to choppin'
  774. (Calciphier Fooma)
  775. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  776.
  777. [00:09] Atrosus Vandigan says, "I didn't order you to get chopping."
  778. [00:10] Atrosus Vandigan says, "Get back here."
  779. [00:10] Calciphier Fooma says, "Yes sir..."
  780. [00:10] Calciphier Fooma says, "Forgive me..."
  781. [00:10] * You have been awarded 5 Roleplay Points! *
  782. [00:10] He huffs and puffs. After the battle he lets himself fall to the ground, sitting with his legs spread out. He looks around, taking stock of the battlefield of sorts, chuckling a bit. Even he and his tired nature had fun.
  783.
  784. "Well that... Was a time. How we all farin'?
  785.
  786. He'd give a look around, quickly scanning the people around him.
  787. (Iskan Furthis)
  788. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  789.
  790. [00:11] Andras made it a point to sheathe his blade with a small flourish, maintaining a distinctly satisfied expression. Even if he was picked last, it simply made taking out the enemies that much easier, it would appear. Perhaps he was looked upon as one of the weaker fighters, but that clearly wasn't the case. His gaze adjusts to Atrosus, awaiting to hear what his elder had to say about that particular battle.
  791. (Andras)
  792. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  793.
  794. [00:11] He'd give a thumbs up with a disappointed face, "It was a battle..."
  795. (Calciphier Fooma)
  796. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  797.
  798. [00:11] "Thats what I'm talking about, babyyyy!"
  799.
  800. Perhaps the exercises had been getting ahead of him. A grin split his face as he walked over to Andras, jostling both of his shoulders almost viciously in victory. "Thats how its done there, bud. Thats the pride right there!" His smile persisted as he took his steps away. Despite the victory, he looked haggard, wellworn from fire and taking the hits from others.
  801.
  802. Riding the high, he would still manage to give a slightly respectful bow-half-nod to the opposition. "I'm fairing better than you I think, Furthis. But then again, I feel like you. Could use a nap right about now!..."
  803. (Berrios Falstaff)
  804. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  805.
  806. [00:12] Iskan Furthis says, "Aye thas' the way. Naps are always welcome."
  807. [00:14] It was what those who have already fought in wars call an uphill battle. Yet Julia, Calcipher and Zachary himself did not back down.
  808.
  809. Outwardly challenging Erick was the best plan he could muster, and one that came of impulse of battle. He was seen as the biggest threat.
  810.
  811. "In war there are no rules." He began.
  812.
  813. "However here our allies were moved to the side for their cost of going down early." He explained
  814.
  815. "It should represent something to us today and I'm sure Our Commander, Sir Atrosus would like to explain." He admitted.
  816.
  817. "But in war I am sure we know that if we can keep on fighting, then dammit we will get up and keep fighting."
  818.
  819. "I was proud to fight by your sides during these war games everyone." He rejoiced.
  820. (Zachary Retinea)
  821. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  822.
  823. [00:14] Would slowly walk back to the main group. He has disappointed his team, again... "Good fight, sorry team that lost was my fault entirely. Sir Vandigan, If you are planning to give out punishment; Please allow me to take all the teams punishment. I feel that everyone did their best and the lost wasn't a teamwork fault, So they shouldn't get punished." He would say quite discouraged but not wrong.
  824. (Solon Tofusin )
  825. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  826.
  827. [00:14] Calciphier Fooma says, "Nonsence Solon..."
  828. [00:15] Calciphier Fooma says, "We all lost, we'll all share the burden..."
  829. [00:15] At this rate Julia could only really feel rage boiling in her chest. She felt like she was being ignored the entire time during the discussions on planning, she felt like literally nothing she said even mattered during that entire situation. They just ignored her and the same thing played out, because the other people in their squad just tired the same thing over and over again. That is not strategy that is insanity. She tried to suggest a bit more defensive ideas sticking close together, maybe focusing on people who can actually separate us from the group instead of the whole 'Weakest link' mentality that was just being preached the entire way. It works for predators because animals don't have a concept of strategy, these were actual people who can plan. They also actively defend each other instead of just leaving the weak one for dead. It was clear through out her whole form as the watery veil looked more like a mini blizzard more then the normal water veil. She was pissed about how horrendously that went.
  830.
  831. Again she lost, this time not due to the lack of strategy, but because of the idiocy of the strategy. Nothing worked out for her it seemed during this training session. It was just disappointment after disappointment. It seemed that nothing good would be coming, probably another one hundred logs, no more then likely it would be two hundred logs this time. Which sure didn't help her in regards to self preservation, she had that. She fought trying to survive each and every god damn time. She did not want to ever die in battle, she knew that no one did. She already had that idea drilled into her the first time she felt the adrenaline rush of combat. In the end she was more livid at the people who came up with the strategies then herself.
  832. (Julia Voss)
  833. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  834.
  835. [00:17] Again, he was on the losing side, though there seemed to be a difficulty or two in his own Cadets. Exhaustion setting in already? Atrosus pondered berating Solon for it, but it was amazing how far he had come since last time.
  836.
  837. A bit of praise did wonders to break up punishments.
  838.
  839. "Cadets, you all did well, especially in the second bout. You learned from your mistakes and attempted to improve upon them." He spoke softly, glancing about but mainly focusing on his own losing team.
  840.
  841. "I don't expect perfection in a day. You trained. You learned. You failed.
  842.
  843. You fail in training so that you succeed in war." He paused for a moment, sighing.
  844.
  845. "One last exercise. Cadet Voss, Cadet Cristovan. You're against Cadet Retinea and Cadet Fooma.
  846.
  847. Cadet Falstaff and Cadet Andras, you're against Cadet Furthis and Cadet Tofusin. Winning teams fight each other." No mention of a punishment.
  848. (Atrosus Vandigan)
  849. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  850.
  851. [00:17] Atrosus Vandigan says, "Ah, and to answer your question."
  852. [00:17] Atrosus Vandigan says, "It's to represent war casualties."
  853. [00:17] Atrosus Vandigan says, "If there are five of you storming a Syndicate hideout, and the first one in takes an arrow to the eye, he won't be fighting."
  854. [00:18] Atrosus Vandigan says, "If someone gets their leg broken, they won't be fighting."
  855. [00:18] Zachary Retinea says, "I'd rather meet a girl and take an arrow to the knee."
  856. [00:18] Berrios Falstaff says, "--"
  857. [00:18] Atrosus Vandigan says, "The point is to show that in battle, you don't finish with what you start. A strong start can be crippled by a good defense."
  858. [00:18] Berrios Falstaff whispers: Which one first?
  859. [00:19] Andras whispers: Doesn't matter. Splittin' em up would work fine, too.
  860. [00:19] Berrios Falstaff whispers: Fair.
  861. [00:19] Iskan Furthis says, "I feel like this setup is.. Off balance."
  862. [00:19] Zachary Retinea exclaims, "Calciphier!"
  863. [00:20] Atrosus Vandigan says, "Hm? You all seem more or less evenly matched."
  864. [00:20] So he was paired with Voss?
  865.
  866. That was fine.
  867.
  868. The way she seemed to be huffing, it wasn't exhaustion setting her into that sort of movement, but perhaps frustration? He moves on over to the girl with red hair and smiles at her gently, laying a hand on her shoulders.
  869.
  870. "Hey, let's talk strategy, yeah?" It's been proven that hashing things out before hand can do wonders.
  871. (Cristóvan)
  872. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  873.
  874. [00:20] Atrosus Vandigan says, "You might not see it in a great group brawl, but I've been watching."
  875. [00:20] Zachary Retinea says, "..."
  876. [00:20] Andras would go through the motion of unsheathing his blade once more, allowing for it to flourish as he sets his gaze upon the duo. A tilt of his head is given as he studies Iskan, appearing quite curious. "Why do you say that, Furthis?" He inquires, allowing for his blade to rest upon his shoulder-blade. It took little preparation for him to delve into a fighting stance all the same, but he'd await to hear his comrade out. Pebbles surrounding him would lightly vibrate, though it was difficult to say if it just wasn't from tremors..
  877. (Andras)
  878. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  879.
  880. [00:20] Atrosus Vandigan says, "You're all at more or less the same level of skill."
  881. [00:20] Calciphier Fooma says, "Sorry..."
  882. [00:20] Zachary Retinea asks, "Over here?"
  883. [00:20] Zachary Retinea says, "We're partners."
  884. [00:20] Was it? Off-balance? Berrios couldn't quite tell. Despite each swordsman here, he...was the one that likely lacked the most finesse. He blazed in and turned it into a melee. He simply hoped he and Andras could back up the smacktalk that was on the tip of his tongue.
  885.
  886. "Alls fair in love-and-war, right?"
  887. (Berrios Falstaff)
  888. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  889.
  890. [00:20] Calciphier Fooma whispers something.
  891. [00:20] Stowing his stave away, Erick quietly shook his arms from side to side, casting away the stone wrought armour he had forged. The second session of war games was an equally pleasant affair to the first for the young man. His team was capable of pulling the victory once again, and despite his expectations for loss, he had two notches to add to his count.
  892.
  893. "It was an honour fightin' ya' once again, Exarch. As per usual, ya' showed off why you're the most threatenin' man this side o' Osrona." he stated cheerfully, gaze briefly glancing towards the giant of a man, before it settled upon the small teams of cadets nearby.
  894.
  895. "Good job to all o' ya', by the way. Ya' are pretty damned impressive, I must say. Fer' a bunch o' cadets."
  896. (Erick Falstrik)
