  1. OBS is a bit laggy for me... I hope to find the most optimal settings as I make more videos.
  2.
  3. I plan to have 7 total wins on Chumley in the early game, so the plan is to face him three times via mail, then face him twice when the weekend starts.
  4.
  5. 1st Duel
  6. - At around 2:20, I summon Mermaid Knight from the deck. It's glitched in the game, because when Mermaid Knight's summoned like that, it can't attack twice. If it could things would be a bit faster, but oh well.
  7. - The turn after, Chumley does probably the strongest move that the AI can do in the game, and that's use Heavy and Snatch in the same turn. If they have both cards, they'll always use Heavy first, meaning you'll be defenseless for a Snatch play. The only card that could prevent that is Book of Moon, but I don't have it lol.
  8. - Because he's used his strongest cards, I'm able to basically empty my hand and make a big push. I don't get to win that turn simply because Hyena is a card.
  9.
  10. 2nd Duel
  11. - At about 6:20, I decided to simply summon 7 Colored Fish and start attacking. I want to be able to go through all my Mother Grizzly's this turn, so I don't use ALO.
  12. - At about 7:20, he summons Gyaku-Gire Panda. Because it's a piercer, the AI I will decide to attack the monster that will allow it to inflict the most damage. So that's why he attacks my penguin soldier.
  13.
  14. 3rd Duel
  15. - So Chumley opens three back row. I'm almost confident that he had Magic Jammer, so I was surprised when he didn't negate ALO.
  16. - At around 9:45, I activate Trap Hole, just to see if he had 7 Tools.
  17. - At around 10:45, I top Mother Grizzly and just set it. I had a feeling he had something that stops attacks, so I fully intended to tribute Mother Grizzly and nuke the field with Levia Dragon next turn.
  18. - Following that, I don't summon Fenrir, because I fully intended to use another ALO next turn, meaning that my Fenrir would've just been destroyed anyways.
  19. - On the last turn of the game, you see me set Book. Throughout the game, it's important set the quick plays, as it's faster to not see the prompts for them to be activated.
  20.
  21. Buying cards
  22. - So like I said for the last video, the Ppell/Trap Collection packs will open randomly throughout the weeks. I just so happen to be unlucky, and unlock no new ones this week. So the only thing I do is buy spell special 1. Here are my notes on how you buy the Special packs:
  23. 1. Spell Special 1: Graceful Charity*, Burst Stream of Destruction* (II), Monster Reborn*
  24. - Spend 4-5 for Graceful, 2-3 for everything else. You spend a lot here.
  25. - Burst Stream is glitched and works like Raigeki. USE IT!
  26. (2. Spell Special 2: Pot of Greed)
  27. - Spend 3-4 for it if you don't have it already.
  28. 3. Trap Special 1: Mirror Force*, Ring of Destruction* (Set Timing card!)
  29. - Spend 3 for each card.
  30. 4. Trap Special 2: Ceasefire*, Dust Tornado, Ojama Trio (II)
  31.
  32. - I edit my deck, and decide that I want to duel Chumley twice, and Jaden once, specifically at Harbor.
  33. - Dueling at Harbor unlocks the Sea you can buy on Saturdays, so my plan is to duel once there this weekend, and then next week buy that pack.
  34. - Unlocking new packs from doing events or etc. unlocks them the following week. So it's not like I could buy the Water pack this weekend.
  35. - From playing this game so much, I noticed that Jaden is located at harbor a lot of the time throughout the game. So constantly this weekend I look to see if he's there at Harbor and do it on the first chance I get.
  36.
  37. 4th Duel
  38. - My hand isn't fantastic, so I decide to immediately use Burst and then set Magician of Faith. I hope to just wait a few turns. eventually drawing something that's good, having Burst ready when I need to use it.
  39. - At 16:50, I top Terrorking Salmon. I don't summon it that turn, because running into a trap, or getting Snatch Steal'd would really suck. So I decide to keep waiting.
  40. - Around 19:15, I top Graceful Charity. I kind of made a mistake here, in that what I could've done was discard seven colored fish, then giant Trunade, and then use premature burial, summoning it from the graveyard. But doing that wouldn't have won that very turn anyways, so it's not a huge deal.
  41.
  42. 5th Duel
  43. - At around 21:05, I set Trap Hole, solely for if he summons Mimble Momonga, or Hyena. Rest of the duel is pretty straightforward.
  44.
  45. 6th Duel
  46. - If there's one reason why I like setting monsters, and playing kind of slowly the first few turns, it's because the AI will Normal Summon things that are far more dangerous when Set. So I'm really happy when Jaden decides to Normal Summon stuff like Clayman and Cyber Jar.
  47. - Around 27:25, I Trap Hole the Cyber–Tech Alligator, which was probably a mistake. I simply forgot that I had my own Snatch Steal; using it on Cyber could've made things a little faster.
  48. - Then again, he had his own Snatch Steal all along, so my play was probably the safest one you could do.
  49.
  50. Gameplay Strategy
  51. - Because you duel solely to get a certain amount of DP, there isn't much need to duel right now. So I decided to sleep in and wait. The goal is to get a total of 30 Wins before the next exam.
  52. - At around 29:50, the Walk Home event happens. The Walk Home event is where you can choose to walk with somebody back to the dorms. If you walk with the same person three times, then you will get to duel them, and get a free card. Don't walk with Syrus, Chumley, or Bastion. You can walk with Jaden, Chazz, Alexis, and Zane if you like. (You will see all these duelists eventually.) This is completely random, and optional.
  53. - Specifically for Alexis, you have to choose "Where are you going?", or else she won't walk with you.
  54.
  55. Duel Exam
  56. -Here are my personal notes on the monthly duel exams:
  57. • Sometimes, you may see an event where Dorothy, the card shop lady, asks for your help. Never help her since that would mean you can't do the Written and Timed Duels (which are explained in a bit). This is pretty rare, but should be mentioned.
  58. • You can get a total score of 500, with 300 being what's necessary to pass. The Written Exam & Timed Duel are worth 100 each, with the "Practical" Exam worth 300.
  59. • On the Written Exams, you want to get every question correct. Save state before every question if necessary. It's important that you do this perfectly. You can also Google search the answers if need be.
  60. • Timed Duels are basically duel puzzles. You’re given set situations in which you have to win that turn; you should get these perfect every time as well. You'll have to do every one eventually (there’s like 100 of them ☹), so make sure you do them correctly. Save state when the game tells you the number of timed duel you are doing.
  61. • Each exam you do has a Practical Exam with a certain theme, which you’ll be told a week in advance which one you’ll take. Here’s a quick list: Battle, Spell, Trap, Direct Damage (also known as Burn), Fusion, Ritual, and Special Summons.
  62. • In this walkthrough, I’ll spell out what to do for them, in terms of building a deck and your overall strategy. So when you’re buying cards, you not only worry about the decks you use to duel everyone with, but the specific decks you’ll eventually make for these Practical Exams.
  63. • For every test except this current one, once you get a score of 100 in the Practical Exam, surrender the test to make everything faster. A win or loss here doesn’t count for your overall wins.
  64. • Passing the exam allows you to potentially move up in Duelist Rank, which controls which dorms you can be in, and even specific packs that can unlock. King of Games is the highest ranking you can get.
  65.
  66. - I make a mistake before the timed duel, going through all the rules. It's way faster just to select "No" and go straight to the duel, but I mess up lol
  67. - I'll say it again: losing this first exam actually makes things faster, and doesn't really slow you down in the grand scheme of things.
  68.
  69. - You get a bunch of mail after this first exam, to go through them really quickly, press the R button, and then press B.
  70.
  71. Buying Cards
  72. - Here are my personal notes on how you buy cards here:
  73. 1. Residents of the Sea: Levia-Dragon – Daedalus*, Mobius, the Frost Monarch*.
  74. (A Legendary Ocean, Fenrir, Mermaid Knight, Tribe-Infecting Virus, Giga Gagagigo/Terrorking Salmon.)
  75. • Buy Levia & Mobius with 2 copies of the pack each, use 3 only if it takes a while. Look to see if you bought Tribe. The rest are just perks. Whether you get them or not is fine.
  76. On Tuesday, buy cards:
  77. 2. If you have money, buy whatever Collections/Specials necessary, including Trap Collections 2. Aim to buy 10 packs at the same time, getting to 90% all at once. If you don’t have over 1000 DP, then move on.
  78. 3. Basic 3-A: Tribe-Infecting Virus
  79. - Buy this only if you didn’t get Tribe in the Sea Pack.
  80.
  81. - I make a super annoying mistake that I'll probably do a lot during this playthrough lol. The reason I buy 3–A is for Tribe, but I reset the first time I had it, making things way longer than they needed to be :(
  82.
  83. - I don't plan to duel this weekend, so I decided to just meet Bastion, and Chazz.
  84. - On The first Monday of the month, Banner gives you 1000 DP. With that DP you use it to buy Trap Collection 2. I tried to buy it to 90% with just that free 1000 DP, but I settle for just completing it with 11 total packs.
  85.
  86. - This weekend, Fontaine will unlock. I'll use my personal notes here to describe what happens:
  87. Find a new question mark at Gym in the Duel Academy circle. It will be Professor Fontaine.
  88. • Talk to her again in the evening. Since your rank is Dropout Boy, she’ll tell you her concerns as a teacher (awww ☺). She challenges you to a duel automatically. If you win, she raises your rank, and converts your lifepoints into DP. Sick, right? I told you losing the exam on purpose would be worth it!
  89. - Fontaine is one of the worst duelists in the game. She uses a Harpie/Winged-Beasts strategy. She usually doesn’t do much. Sometimes she gets off Elegant Egotist to get Harpie’s Lady Sisters. Runs Harpie’s Pet Dragon and Roc from the Valley Haze. It’s planned that you’ll get far over 10 wins against her throughout the game since beating her is so easy.
  90. • Starting with this duel, win your duels as fast as possible rather than trying to carefully get the most DP. Try to win with having around 6500 life left (especially if you had to buy Spell Special 2). If you get below that, reset and try again.
  91.
  92. - And here, I'll give the personal check list for the water deck at this point:

  111. 8 staples
  112. Traps: 5
  113. 1 Magic Jammer
  114. 4 staples
  115.
  116. Below is the list of staples you use for every deck you make in game:
  117. STAPLES
  118. Spells:
  119. Book of Moon
  120. Burst Stream of Destruction (Use Fissure/Trap Hole, then Smashing Ground, and Shield Crash/Nobleman of Crossout early game)

  122. Heavy Storm

  131. Ring of Destruction (Use Trap Hole early game)
  132. Torrential Tribute
  133.
  134. Fontaine Event
  135. - At around 44:00, I decide to suicide my Mother Grizzly into sonic duck. I intend to have sonic duck attack my last grizzly, so I can summon mermaid from the deck. I'd use my backrow on any monster that could mess up my plans.
  136. - I get lucky and have a combination of Fenrir and Mermaid win the game for me within the next few turns. Having 7100 DP from this event, I'm satisfied.
  137.
  138. - At about 46:55, I pretty much show where I'm at in the game so far. Looking at your status and the PDA pretty much tells you how close you are to becoming the king of games.
  139. - My goal at this point is to get 6 more Fontaine wins, and 4 more Jaden wins, getting to exactly 30.
  140.
  141. Overall wins: Syrus (9), Chumley (7), Jaden (3), Fontaine (1)
