  177.
  178.
  179.
  180.
  181.
  182. A little explanation on how stats works in this game :
  183.
  184. Each character have three kind of stats. They can be upgraded by equiping items, or spending skill points.
  185. You can also upgrade weapon and armor by spending gold, though it's random.
  186.
  187. First part on the character status screen is about defence.
  188. - Hit Points. When you character reach 0, he can't fight anymore.
  189. - Evasion, basically it's your chances to dodge an attack.
  190. - Parry, to reduce incoming damage, and it work for ranged/magic attacks too. Warry that you will take damage from ennemies with a high score in critical though.
  191. - Armor : the higher your armor, the less damage you take.
  192.
  193. - Magic defence, an expensive and hard to raise stat, but very usefull to reduce damage from spells casters
  194. - Tenacity : your chance to stay at 1 Defence Point and not die when taking a hit that should kill you.
  195.
  196. For every stat, the chances decrease it battle every time.
  197. Exemple : If Rance have 50 in his dodge score, and actually dodge an ennmy attack, next time in this battle, he will only have 40 in Evasion score left, or so. It work for Everything, untill your stats are "depleted" for the battle.
  198.
  199. Next, about offense :
  200. - Attack Score, basically, your ability to deal damage
  201. - Your rough attack score
  202. - Weapon Factor
  203.
  204. - Critical Score (actually, not chances, as the attack like "critical" are the "Strong attacks" that only some character have. Critical score actually directly modify your attack power, even if it's not show in the above score. If you have a high critical score, be ready to do way more damages on every single attack on an ennemy with no armor left)
  205. - Number of Special Attacks
  206.
  207. And finaly, the last part :
  208.
  209. - Movement (How many tiles one char can move each turn)
  210. - Range (Range of the normal attacks)
  211. - Speed (When in the turn the character get to act)
  212.
  213. A little note about how Special Stat, listed with the character list above works :
  214. - Counter attacks work actually if you parry the attack; so you won't be able to Counter anymore if you parried too much attacks already. You might want to raise Parry a lot, and use parry items on a character with high Counter score.
  215. - Strong Attacks are the "real" "Critical Attacks", that can occur and do much more damage than a simple attacks. But, be warry that some characters CAN do them, but start with a score of 0%. You need to zquip items on them to raise their chance !
  216. - Dual-Move is your chance to act again; moving and attacking, just after finishing your turn.
  217. - Covering Fire is when a Gunner can shot at an ennemy, tring to attack an ally; without taking a turn, and breaking the ennemy's.
  218.
  219.
  220.
  221. Next, how to raise the stat part :
  222. you get skill points by killing ennemies, and as a "team poll" at the end of each battle.
  223. Girls also win points with some event, and with H-events.
  224.
  225. You can use those points to raise 8 stats, that are :
  226.
  227. - Hit Points 1 Point each time (cheap cost)
  228. - Evasion 1% each time (moderate cost)
  229. - Parry 1% each time (moderate cost)
  230. - Magical Defence 1 Point each time (high cost)
  231. - Tenacity 1% each time (moderate cost)
  232. - Attack Score 1 Damage range (cheap cost)
  233. - Critical Score 1 Point each time (high cost)
  234. - Speed 1 Poibt each time (moderate cost)
  235.
  236. But that's not all of it !
  237.
  238. - Each time you raise ONE stat TWO time, you get a black empty star on it.
  239. - You can get up to 4 stars, so 8 upgrade on one stat.
  240.
  241. - If you have one black star on the EIGHT stats, so if you have upgraded the EIGHT stats TWO times each, you get a yellow filled star.
  242. - For EACH of those stars, you get a specific bonus to the char, see the list bellow !
  243. - So, if you have raised at last 8 times EACH stat, you get the 4 filled yellow stars, and thus, the full bonus.

  491. After the middle of the Chapter 4, you finnaly unlock one more big feature of this game : the Fortress.
  492. It allow you to use some skills from it's facilities on specific maps, like the Fortress Defence ones.
  493. Here a little tips on how does it works, what does it do, and how to upgrade it !
  494.
  495. So, the facility interface works like a tetris :
  496. each facility take some blocks, and you need to arrange them to be able to put the more of them into the maximum room you have !
  497. To BUY a facility, you use the Point you earn after each battle that are displayed in the bottom bar !
  498. to UPGRADE a facility, you use the green stones that ALSO are displayed in the bottom bar !
  499.
  500. - Yellow Facility power up the core, from core room. Each one of them gives +50 Hp to the core, and make it harder to be destroyed, thus harder to get a game-over. You really want to have one or two of them, unless you have very strong characters that won't even let any ennemy slide in the core room. (Though you NEED to for some specific mission objectives)
  501. >>>> Upgrading this facility have a very high cost to upgrade; and it shrink the facility; so it take less room, and you may use more.
  502.
  503. - Green Facility shot a laser all a line long. It will damage all the ennemies it hit, and will not be evaded or parried.
  504. >>>> Upgrading this Facility don't shrink it, but insted boost-up it's power by 25 each time. It has a low cost to upgrade.
  505.
  506. - Blue Facility create a shield on the map that can reflect ennemies attacks as long as it's "alive".
  507. >>>> Upgrading this facility shrink it, and has a low cost to upgrade.
  508.
  509. - Purple Facility act exactly like in a crane game : you can take an annemy with the crane, and move it anywhere on the battlefield.
  510. >>>> Upgrading this facility shrink it, and it has a low cost to upgrade.
  511.
  512. - Pink Facility make you able to play again any character at the end of the turn (Move + Attack)
  513. >>>> Upgrading this facility shrink it, and it has a low cost to upgrade.
  514.
  515. - Red Facility create a bomb, that you can equip a character at the begining of a battle (just above where your Red Crab Orbs stands). Thus, this character will need to move onto a pack of ennemies, and use the bomb to damage them on a area of 2.
  516. >>>> Upgrading this ability give it more power, 30 each time. It won't shrink though, and has a medium cost to upgrade.
  517.
  518.
  519.
  520. That's all for the Facilities, and remember that using them will "consume" the facility that you will need to rebuild between fights !

  550. FAQ :
  551.
  552. Q. Help, how can I beat the final boss?
  553. A. AFter trying to kill him once, a short event involving Rance and Patton will show up. Then, "kill" it again, but Patton MUST deliver the final blow on the gold shield thingy.
  554.
  555. Q. How do I get past the mission with Rance and Tillday on chapter 13?
  556. A. You need to drop both their HP (Defence Points) to around 30%, then the mission will clear.
  557.
  558. Q. How do I get past the mission with only Rance and Russian?
  559. A. First you need to get far east at the end of the scrolling; BUT Rance HP MUSN'T drop low, or it's game over, so keep him healed with Russian. It dosn't matter if she ket killed though, as long as Rance get to the goal.
  560.
  561. Q. I'm stuck at the first mission of the Chapter 9 !
  562. A. You need to kill ALL the ennemies by the end of Turn 2? or else, it's Game Over !
  563.
  564. Q. How do I get the girls ending?
  565. A. You need to finish the Chapter 15 first. Then, the first door, for the True Route will show up. Open it, go to the last boss and beat it; a new save will be created. Load that save, you will be back in front of the doors, and those for the girl you can actually get will be open.
  566.
  567. Q. I'm missing some gear events in chapter 11 and above.
  568. A. They're probably related to girls events. Or you havn't enough heart with a girl, and thus, the event won't show up, or, if the gear is linked to a battle event, it's the "bad end" event if th girl fall during the fight. Refer to the "Bad End List" section to learn more.
  569.
  570. Q. What are the Point in the bottom bar and the green stones used for?
  571. A. The points can be used to trade for gold (5P = 1 Gold), or for Skill points (2P = 1 Skill Point); or used to buy new facilities for the Fortress after using the related skill.
  572.
  573. Q. What's the use of the RED facility in the Fortress?
  574. A. It's a Bomb; you can use it by clicking just above the box with the 4 red orb on character select screen before a mission. You will equip it on a character that will be able to use it when near ennemies. Like the Green Laser facility; you can upgrade it's power by spending some green cystals.
