  4. Once the game has been elected to be curated

  6. Four steps to create a completed work, this should be thoughtful and between 3000-500 words. It should be fluid and nice to read. Go about it in your own style, but ensure you follow this guideline. The harder it is for you to create this yourself, the closer you may stick to the guidelines specific instruction.
  7. Description (What do you see?)
  8. Describe the work:
  9. - What is the written description of the work?
  10. - What is the title and who is (are) the artist(s)?
  11. - When and where was the work created? Under what influences and conditions did the author make this game?
  12. - Describe the elements of the work (i.e. space, mechanics, narrative, feedback, pacing, interface, variety, challenge and choice).
  13. - Describe the technical qualities of the work (i.e. art style, efficiency on computer, sound design, depth, detail).
  14. - Describe the subject matter. What is it all about? Are there recognisable meanings?
  15. Analysis (How are the elements put together?)
  16. Describe how the work is organized as a complete composition:
  17. - How is the work constructed or planned (i.e. Principles of Design: emphasis, movement, contrast, pattern/rhythm, balance, unity)?
  18. - If the work has subjects or characters, what are the relationships among them?
  19. Interpretation (What is the author trying to say?)
  20. Describe how the work makes one think or feel:
  21. - Describe the expressive qualities you find in the work. (i.e., tragic, humorous)?
  22. - How does the work relate to other ideas or events during the time period?
  23. - Is there any symbolism? What does it mean?
  24. - How does this relate to the author's life/intent?
  25. - What is the style? How does it compare to other pieces from the author/period?
  26. Judgement (What do you think of it?)
  27. Present your opinion of the work's success or failure:
  28. - What qualities of the work make you feel it is a success?
  29. - Compare it with similar works that you think are good or bad.
  30. - What criteria can you list to help others judge this work?

  35. Follow these to ensure a successful writing
  36. - The criteria above should be followed always. unless you are confident what you have to say will leave the reader more satisfied.(edited)
  37. - Keep the first three criterion (Description,. Analysis, Interpretation) free of opinion; stay objective until the Judgement criterion.
  38. - After the curation, write the summary to be a 212 character (or smaller) catchy and convincing curation for the game, including a major point or two from the writing.
  39. - Avoid alliterations.
  40. - Stay in the third person always, only the 212 Catch may be written colloquially at times.
  41. - Write this like you are answering questions someone may have about the game. Tell what they want to know.
