  1. * = thoughts
  2.
  3. *I'm here to serve you...* the white gem said to the blue one.
  4. A distant calling.
  5. *Do you... Really mean that?* The blue one asked.
  6. Gentle blue eyes that showed uncertainty.
  7. "...rite!"
  8. *Of course! I'm your sworn sword and shield!* The white said proudly.
  9. A kind smile that would batter away any grey clouds that came in its way.
  10. "Please..."
  11. *I told you... I'd protect you... Didn't I?* A battle worn and beaten white gem said, her shield cracked and damaged, her sword broken.
  12. A promise.
  13. "PYRITE!"
  14. Her words rang out to the fallen gem, Pyrite snapped awake from her unconscious state, her body sore as healing water soothed away the pain that came. It all came back, quartz soldiers. Too many of them, she had told Kyanite to run... Yet she had stayed by her side. Pyrite's hand placed itself upon Kyanites as she got up, her body ached but she had a promise to fulfill. Those gentle blue eyes, struck with sadness. What kind of protector could she be if she couldn't see that smile?
  15.
  16. "We're getting out of this, Kyanite..." Pyrite said, a sword and shield snapping into existence upon her as her sword sparked and caught fire. "I swear on the promise I made to you all those years ago. Not once have I faltered as your shield and not once have I failed as your blade." She said staring down the last few soldiers getting ready. "As long as I can see you smile, that's all the drive I need to keep going." Pyrite told her, Kyanite's face flushed making Pyrite smile a little.
  17.
  18. "I... I trust you... With all of my life.." Kyanite said, healing away the last of Pyrite's wounds.
  19.
  20. "Then I will not fail." Pyrite said, raising her shield as it cracked against the weight of the Quartz Hammer , weaving as she landed three quick slashes. The benefit to having lighter weapons is the edge in mobility, she too was a former soldier, and would not let her training fail her, or Kyanite.
  21.
  22. The battle was long and arduous, quartz after quartz, blow after blow, the dance of battle raged as a single plea was uttered again and again. The second to last quartz soldier fell before a good blow from a great sword knocked her away.
  23.
  24. "PYRITE!" Kyanite cried out, suddenly shadowed by the quartz soldier, her sword over head as it came down, blades met, and both pierced. Kyanite opened her eyes to horror, Pyrite had been ran through but so was the quartz.
  25.
  26. "I... Told you... I would not... Fail..... As your...." Her words trailed off and both of their formed disappeared into smoke as both gems hit the ground.
  27.
  28. "Pyrite..." She said, scooping up the gem in her hands. Holding it to her there was a profound sadness. "Rest now, my knight... You've won your battle..." Her voice said, quivering as she held back tears.

  31. .
  32. The sound of a guitar strumming, the salty sea wind and rolling waves. Two gems sat on a cliff overlooking the ocean, one playing her guitar, the other listening, smiling warmly with a soft blush. The sky looked just as beautiful as her. The sunset, the songs came to a close. Her eyes amazing even in the sunset, faces grew closer, gems beginning to glow softly. A kiss, a spark. Like fire and ice, emotions rose up like steam, gems glowing bright like stars. A flash, unity, one with each other, completion. Fusion. They were something new, something unbelievable, an experience. Celestite.
