  1. [16:35] The horned occultist marches in, glancing over the two Chieftains in their chairs. Well, that was easy.
  2. (Ardith)
  3. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4.
  5. [16:35] Kabu asks, "Mnh..?"
  6. [16:36] Ardith says, "I was needing to talk to the Chieftains. And here they are. That's handy."
  7. [16:37] Saba says, "Well, two out of three."
  8. [16:37] Ardith says, "Haven't seen Tih in a while. Two out of three can probably do."
  9. [16:37] Saba says, "Probably."
  10. [16:38] Kabu asks, "What'd be your business, Ardith?"
  11. [16:38] Ardith says, "I'm here to ask something. Since I've been hanging around a bit. And I was supposed to be working for Declan, but his deadbeat ass hasn't been around or given me my money."
  12. [16:38] Saba says, "Aye, that sounds about right."
  13. [16:39] Saba says, "Think he's busy being a dad... Or something like that."
  14. [16:39] Ardith says, "Really would"
  15. [16:39] Ardith says, "Would've been great to have gotten a headsup on that."
  16. [16:39] Ardith says, "...Or my god-damn money."
  17. [16:39] Ardith says, "Both, honestly."
  18. [16:39] Ardith scowls, her aura seething. "...Anywho. Not what I'm here for. Primarily, anyway."
  19. (Ardith)
  20. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  21.
  22. [16:39] Ardith says, "I'm here to ask you two a hypothetical. "
  23. [16:39] Saba says, "I'll screech at Declan about it later, but yes! Please continue."
  24. [16:39] Kabu says, "Hmn..."
  25. [16:40] Ardith says, "Say there's an Archon living in Dawn that, in light of recent events, might not want to be there anymore."
  26. [16:40] Ardith says, "Y'know. Hypothetically."
  27. [16:40] Ardith grins cheekily.
  28. (Ardith)
  29. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30.
  31. [16:40] Saba says, "Ardith, we allow demons here."
  32. [16:40] Saba asks, "Why wouldn't we allow an Archon?"
  33. [16:40] Ardith says, "Yeah, but here's the thing. "
  34. [16:40] Ardith says, "I don't think Levengard particularly likes this Archon."
  35. [16:40] Kabu nods sagely, Demons were quite always welcomed here.
  36. (Kabu)
  37. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  38.
  39. [16:40] Saba asks, "..Why's that?"
  40. [16:40] Kabu asks, "Oh?"
  41. [16:40] Kabu asks, "That concerns -us- how?"
  42. [16:40] Saba asks, "And, I don't see how that concerns us?"
  43. [16:41] Saba says, "We're Gehenna, not Levengard."
  44. [16:41] Ardith shrugs. "Honestly don't know. Why do they like killing people for existing?"
  45. (Ardith)
  46. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  47.
  48. [16:41] Kabu says, "We don't care for a majority of Levgarders."
  49. [16:41] Ardith says, "I figured you all might care about uh. Diplomacy or whatever."
  50. [16:41] Ardith asks, "Look, are you honestly going to get uppity because I asked first and didn't just drag an Archon here?"
  51. [16:41] Saba says, "Feigning ignorance is an option."
  52. [16:41] Kabu says, "We appreciate it."
  53. [16:41] Saba says, "Aye, that we do."
  54. [16:42] Kabu says, "But, this isn't something that'll bring us much disdain."
  55. [16:42] Ardith says, "Hey. Good by me then, Chief...s. Chiefs."
  56. [16:43] Ardith says, "I'll let the Lord know he'll be welcome then. Don't think he'll want anything to do with angels of any kind."
  57. [16:43] Saba asks, "Out of curiosity, what is the Archon's name?"
  58. [16:43] Kabu says, "*would give a hearty sigh, as he looked to the occult riddled being, though he'd have a few ancedotes.* "
  59. [16:44] Kabu would give a hearty sigh, as he looked to the occult riddled being, though he'd have a few ancedotes.
  60. (Kabu)
  61. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  62.
  63. [16:44] Ardith says, "Lord Illaron, Archon of Creation."
  64. [16:44] Kabu says, "Hmn. Well seeing as they've statues of much more malevolent Archons in their square."
  65. [16:45] Ardith says, "They're hypocrites, sir. They ain't play by the same rules. "
  66. [16:45] Saba says, "Oh yea, we're more than aware of that."
  67. [16:45] Kabu says, "I'm sure he'll be welcomed. So long as he respects our spirits, and doesn't spread the tearing of the lifestream, thorugh revivals, or rifts."
  68. [16:45] Saba says, "Well, most of them are.. Some of the people there are genuinely good."
  69. [16:45] Kabu says, "Leven houses Issac, and Niklaus Rowan."
  70. [16:45] Saba says, "The rest are just so up their own ass, that they've forgotten what the sun looks like."
  71. [16:45] Ardith says, "Can't say I've gotten a chance to know most. "
  72. [16:45] Kabu says, "Morality is subjective there."
  73. [16:45] Ardith snickers, grinning broader.
  74. (Ardith)
  75. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  76.
  77. [16:46] Ardith says, "Sure he'll be happy to hear he doesn't have to be in a city chained down by fallen angels. Great."
  78. [16:46] Ardith says, "One more thing, if you've got the time."
  79. [16:46] Saba says, "Go for it."
  80. [16:46] Kabu says, "We've nothing but, these days."
  81. [16:47] "As you already know, I've had a deal with Declan," she begins, stepping forward. Behind her a bovine tail swishes and sways with each of her steps.
  82.
  83. "Which he hasn't held up his end of the bargain on yet. May as well extend the same thing to Gehenna at large while I'm here. Sugarboy gave me the mansion in the Dreadwoods for my research.
  84.
  85. "Declan was going to pay me fifteen thousand as a trial, for the first three years, and in return I was going to share my research with him and him alone."
  86. (Ardith)
  87. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  88.
  89. [16:52] Curious....
  90.
  91. The Chieftain would look down to Ardith with his eyebrow raising, he didn't truly know what she was on about, but honestly, he was fairly intrigued to say the least of it. Golden hues carefully watch her as he'd built up his own resistances to her depraved influences and more or less could tolerate her seeping energies for drastically longer than before.
  92.
  93. "Hmn….
  94.
  95. Interesting that he'd do this behind the rest of Gehenna's back. But Declan is consistently inconsistent. I am interested into what you have to offer, though Ardith.
  96.
  97. What exactly are you researching exactly?" the panther would inquire somewhat leaning forwards in the throne chair with his attention captured quite endearingly.
  98. (Kabu)
  99. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  100.
  101. [16:53] Saba tilts his head to the side as he listens to the young woman speak, silently nodding his head along, as he patiently listens. Though he would wordlessly bring a hand up to his chin, tapping it a couple of times as he ponders what Ardith had just said.
  102.
  103. "With him and him alone."
  104.
  105. Jeez, what the fuck Declan?
  106.
  107. A sigh escapes from his lips, as he slowly shakes his head to the side, before returning his gaze to the woman.
  108.
  109. "Right, well I'd love to say that I could actually pay you, buuut… I'm pretty broke myself, though I could always offer you... Free equipment when needed."
  110.
  111. He'd pause as he listened to Kabu speak, giving his fellow chieftain a thumbs up, before continuing. "But yes, what exactly are you researching?"
  112. (Saba)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. [16:57] "I mean...Maaaybe he was going to share it with you guys?" she offers innocently. Though the horns, the tail, the red eyes, make everything she does seem naturally less innocent.
  116.
  117. The aura doesn't help either, and if anything it's gotten worse since her last encounter with Kabu in her youth. It's as if she hasn't bothered much to try and reign in its influence, if at all. Probably some, seeing as how she's not a blithering, raving lunatic.
  118.
  119. "Free equipment is a nice start. And I might need some things forged, depending on how much research goes. Actually, some cages might be really, really useful...Some runed inlays..."
  120.
  121. She goes off on a side tangent for a second, muttering to herself as she drums her gloved fingertips on her bottom lip. In her eyes there's a gleam of excitement before she brings her train of thought back to the matter at hand.
  122.
  123. "Demons, mostly. And daemons by extension. Mostly the first ones."
  124.
  125. As she has their attention, she takes another small step forward.
  126.
  127. "I'm trying to mimic their telepathy that they use to speak with one another, and seeing if the broken little ones can't be made better. Or more useful. I can...I can hear them, but it's nothing clear. Not yet."
  128. (Ardith)
  129. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  130.
  131. [17:08] A thoughtful squint would be given here, as Kabu looked down on Ardith still, it may have felt like a spotlight with how his golden gaze shined at times regardless of the lighting in the throne room.
  132.
  133. His more primal features would reveal themselves as he sniffed the air, a frequent thing that he'd do when he wasn't sure of something, a simple base instinct to waft the air and see whether or not deceit plagued it when certain propositions reared their heads.
  134.
  135. "So, you're attempting to re-correct the madness that the Spires drove upon the Daemons...? That's a first. Well, Daemons, and the more feral beings of the dark wilds, I'd assume.
  136.
  137. Be careful.
  138.
  139. The forces that warped their minds could very well do the same to yours if you are able to hold a full narrative with them eventually. And if you do pursue this, I want to be told of each detail, the how, the why, and the when.
  140.
  141. I won't hold any darkness in these experiments, otherwise it'll be more akin to something the Ultovexian Nightmare would elicit.
  142.
  143. In short, I'll allow it. But only given full transparency." the leader of Cruxati would hold true to his tribe's natures. Exercising caution and wisened parallels to the past.
  144. (Kabu)
  145. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  146.
  147. [17:10] "I assume the cages will be for storing the demons, and daemons, yea?" The chieftain asked as he continued to tap a finger on his chin. All of this sound rather intriguing to him, so he'd go along with it.
  148.
  149. For now anyways.
  150.
  151. "Right, well all of that sounds rather interesting, and far beyond what I understand about Demons... Hell I wasn't even aware that they had a uh... Telepathy thing. Then again, I am a bit of a moron!"
  152.
  153. Saba let loose a hearty chuckle, that seemed to echo throughout the temple. So that's neat, probably... Oh well.
  154.
  155. "Just... Do-" Green hues shifted back towards Kabu, as the man once again took the words right out of his mouth. Jeez, it seems as if he doesn't actually have anything to add.
  156.
  157. Oh well.
  158.
  159. "I'll just reiterate his point. So long as you aren't experimenting on Gehenna, or her citizens, as well as like... Probably a couple of other people. You'll be fine."
  160. (Saba)
  161. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  162.
  163. [17:16] "It's...a big project. Fixing them is a longterm goal," she elaborates. Her red eyes meet Kabu's golden feral ones. Her smile widens to something sharper.
  164.
  165. "First trying to establish a means of communication with some of the ones more capable of sentience. Then fixing. And even if fixing isn't possible, there's a lot to be learned and gained by studying them and the old Illyothian ruins."
  166.
  167. At mention of Ultovex her aura flickers, spikes, and she shakes her head with a scowl.
  168.
  169. "No. I'm not going to be a puppeteer like he is. I don't plan any experiments on people. Demons and daemons are another story. That'll be necessary. And yes, the cages will be for demons and demons only."
  170.
  171. Experimentation is a better fate than death for the broken ones. She still remembers Illaron mentioning culling their numbers to put them out of their misery.
  172.
  173. "If you want full transparency and to be kept up to date, we can discuss a price. Equipment's a good start."
  174. (Ardith)
  175. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  176.
  177. [17:17] Saba says, "Right, well I suppose I could start working on the cages."
  178. [17:18] Kabu says, "We have enough materials to help you there."
  179. [17:19] Saba says, "Aye, I'm aware."
  180. [17:19] Ardith asks, "But you're not offering anything other than the equipment as payment?"
  181. [17:20] Saba asks, "When did I say that?"
  182. [17:20] Kabu taps the throne, was living here not good enough payment? Not being on the run from forces that would see them slain....?
  183. (Kabu)
  184. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  185.
  186. [17:20] Kabu says, "Hmn.."
  187. [17:20] Saba says, "I was simply saying, that I'd start working on it."
  188. [17:20] Saba says, "Some funds can be aquired for you."
  189. [17:20] Saba says, "How much? I can't say just yet, but they can be aquired."
  190. [17:21] Ardith is probably a greedy little cuss. Who knows?
  191. (Ardith)
  192. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  193.
  194. [17:22] Ardith asks, "Tell you what...the equipment, continued ownership of the Dreadwoods, and whatever I ask for made?"
  195. [17:22] Ardith asks, "Would that be alright with the Chieftains?"
  196. [17:22] Saba asks, "Owndership of the Dreadwoods?"
  197. [17:22] Kabu says, "You do not own them."
  198. [17:22] Saba says, "Ownership... Even."
  199. [17:23] Kabu says, "You may use them, coupled with the equipment, and make of what you ask for, within reason."
  200. [17:23] Ardith says, "Should've been specific. The mansion there."
  201. [17:23] Ardith says, "That's my bad."
  202. [17:24] Kabu squints.
  203. (Kabu)
  204. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  205.
  206. [17:24] Ardith says, "It adjoins the caves, which I'm sure will be useful for my research."
  207. [17:24] Saba says, "Aye, more than likely it will."
  208. [17:24] Ardith continues to only smile, practically beaming at Kabu. Why, she even adds in a little wink.
  209. (Ardith)
  210. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  211.
  212. [17:25] Kabu winks back, he was no coward.
  213. (Kabu)
  214. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  215.
  216. [17:25] Ardith says, "So. The Dreadwoods mansion, the cages, and whatever equipment I need. "
  217. [17:25] Saba squints at Kabu, and then at Ardith. Why the fuck were they winking at each other?
  218. (Saba)
  219. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  220.
  221. [17:25] Saba says, "Aye, that's fine by me."
  222. [17:25] Kabu says, "Agreed."
  223. [17:26] Ardith waggles her eyebrows as Kabu winks, then licks her lips. Her tail sways. "Fantastic."
  224. (Ardith)
  225. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  226.
  227. [17:26] Ardith says, "Look forward to working with ya both."
