  1. [14:03] Taiga would quickly race out into the fields, following the VERY EASILY VISIBLY trail of fire that presumably followed in their wake. So this was the result of the war, in it's own way, huh? Vel was obviously a bit unhinged even before the rage potion had brought him to this point. Even the calmest, most calculating of the family had been torn apart.
  2.
  3. "...Alright Vel. Let's see what the Combat Data says about this." He crosses his arms, eyes slitting in focus as he carefully observes the battle!
  4. (Taiga Voss)
  5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6.
  7. [14:09] Taiga Voss says, "wh-"
  8. [14:10] Taiga Voss says, "H..."
  9. [14:10] Taiga Voss says, "He's fast."
  10. [14:20] Sian pecks Vaan on the temple.
  11. (Sian)
  12. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  13.
  14. [14:20] Sian says, "Take care kiddo."
  15. [14:28] Daius Invidia says, "Look at all those chickens"
  16. [14:29] Taiga glances over to Lucien. No offense, but until he had Voss as his last name proper, he just felt downright unnerved by the man. So short on words. So spooky. So floaty. Even now, he doesn't know how to make up for the lack of introductions in his part despite the familial bond.
  17.
  18. "...The Invidia's are fighting, sir." He explains. "A rage potion and now..."
  19. (Taiga Voss)
  20. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  21.
  22. [14:30] Lucien glances between the two once the situation has been given to him. He hums, quietly, giving a short nod for a moment.
  23.
  24. "The only surprising thing is that it didn't happen sooner."
  25. (Lucien Voss)
  26. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  27.
  28. [14:43] Not sure why he did it, but he felt compelled to aid his brother for some reason. Letting the kitsune unleash his full wrath on him. Even if it meant dying. Perhaps there was a little bit of good in him after all. Or just satisfying his deranged fantasies. Either way the two engaged in battle on the open plains where there were no distractions.
  29.
  30. It had been a while since the two last fought. Years even. The last time being when Paris was human, physically that is. Now things had changed and Paris had adopted new skills and abilities. Sadly those weren't for combating his brother. If he could feel regret, it would be because of his careless decision to accept the deceased archon of entropy's sweet words, relying on a foreign power rather not his own.
  31.
  32.
  33. His spider monkey tactics did little to help him in this situation. Much good it did in this situation. Unable to avoid much of his brother's flames as they were much bigger and much faster than before, and of course they burned much hotter and brighter. Eventually he got worn down to the point he could barely stand.
  34.
  35. Unable to defend himself as he got hit in the head and then kicked on the arm. *Snap* The bones in his arm giving way to the force of the strike as it broke. The impact of the blow sending him hurtling across the plains. Sadly while the turning had made him impervious to certain emotions and feelings. Pain wasn't one of them. It hurt a lot.
  36.
  37. "Fuck.."
  38.
  39. Spitting out some blood as he watched his brother approach. Not yet doing anything, be it attempting to flee or reach for his weapon.
  40. (Paris Invidia)
  41. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  42.
  43. [14:45] Lucien Voss says, "Well. Good luck with this, then."
  44. [14:45] Taiga Voss says, "..."
  45. [14:47] As little as Vaan cared for Paris, the man was still family and so he'd have to spring into action. Noticing his father approaching his weakened uncle, the young Invidia would step forwards.
  46.
  47. "Father, stop! That's enough...let's just head back to Crafthold now."
  48.
  49. Hopefully Vel would listen to reason, but if not Vaan was prepared for battle. He didn't intend to lose another family member so soon.
  50. (Vaan Invidia)
  51. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  52.
  53. [14:49] ...What a fight. It was ridiculous to see Vel in action like this. Some of his reactions seemed strange at first, but they weren't reactions. They were tactics. Even at the height of his anger, consumed by his own flames, Vel's intellect had remained. Warped and driven into a mind set only on winning this battle, he was taking every advantage he could gain in the fight and running with it.
  54.
  55. It was inspiring, almost. If this were against an enemy, Taiga would be beaming with a sense of pride for Vel's performance. But this? This Combat Data was stained with the blood of his own family.
  56.
  57. "...Vel. You sully your own pride in this blind rage." Taiga moves to back up Vaan, hand hovering over his weapon. "Regain control and stop. Or I will, so that you do not continue this obscenity."
  58. (Taiga Voss)
  59. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60.
  61. [15:01] The colossal fiery Giant shrunk itself and became one with the normal shroud around Vel. His eyes of flowing embers stared directly down at the fallen Invidia.
  62.
  63. One of the Kitsune's hand lifted into the air.
  64.
  65. "I'll be sure... to..
  66.
  67. Give you the most painful.. death.. possible."
  68.
  69. Once more, the shroud of fire begun to shape into something else as it poured itself into the palm of Vel's hand. Strangely, only mere orbs were created.. Following its creation, it would hover above the Invidia's head.
  70.
  71. Two Orbs.. Four Orbs.. Six Orbs.
  72.
  73. These balls of fire were symmetrically lined and faced Paris. Eventually, they started to form into something different.. A bright light shining just before doing so.
  74.
  75. The Flaming orbs stretched and grew longer until ultimately creating the shape of a sword. Six sharp flames with the shapes of an ordinary sword. Paris would soon meet a painful demise..
  76.
  77. Luckily, the words of the two young individuals reached Vel.
  78.
  79. "This woman will die... I will not be stopped. You will have to force me to stop...
  80.
  81. She murdered my sister..! She murdered FAMILY! SHE WILL DIE!"
  82.
  83. Vel immediately threw his hand forward, forcing the swords to thrust themselves through the air and make its attempt at piercing Paris.. Though, there was a high chance this might be prevented.
  84.
  85.
  86. (Vel Invidia)

  92. [15:03] * You have been awarded 2 Roleplay Points! *
  93. [15:12] A smile creeped up his lips. Watching the flames form on his palm. He noticed the others approaching, trying to stop this but he couldn't involve them in this. This was between Vel and him after all. The sword of flames were formed as Paris struggled to get back up on his feet. Leaning forward and almost stumbling as he nearly fell, albeit managing to right his balance at the last moment.
  94.
  95. This far exceeded his expectations. Watching the blade come down to pierce him. Luckily he was able to utilize Vel's enraged state to confuse the man's movements albeit slightly while veering his body to the left. The sword impaled him but it didn't strike his heart. Still it did major damage to the man's body as he collapsed onto Vel, his other mechanical arm wrapping around the kitsune.
  96.
  97. Whispering something into the man's ear before passing out unconscious.
  98. (Paris Invidia)
  99. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  100.
  101. [15:12] At this point it became clear that his father held no intentions of stopping-- but something else became clear as well, apparently Vel was confusing Paris with the one who had murdered Priscilla. This was bad news, very bad news.
  102.
  103. As threatening as the elder Invidia's power seemed, now wasn't the time to back down-- it was time for action. Stepping forward once more, Vaan would hold out an arm open palm before an ethereal blue sword would form within it. Soon the sword would be surrounded with flames as well.
  104.
  105. Looking to all within the area, Vaan would speak.
  106.
  107. "Taiga, Daius. At this point he's beyond words...we'll have to fight." He'd state, giving a nod to reaffirm his resolve.
  108.
  109. "I ask that you all try not to hurt my father too much, however." The effects of a rage potion seemed so sinister, no wonder Paris was scum, he downed such on a regular basis.
  110.
  111. Flames began to shroud the Kitsune as he took flight, two wings made of energy magic as well as fire would jut outwards from Vaan's back, flapping all the while as he remained airborne.
  112. (Vaan Invidia)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. [15:13] Paris Invidia whispers something.
  116. [15:14] Taiga decides that enough is enough. The urgency of the situation has peaked, and Taiga is in no place to allow Vel to slaughter his kin. Especially not in this insane, enraged state that he was in. The danger had become too much -- the moment those flames shaped into swords, he steps off. Racing forward as fast as he can to meet Vel.
  117.
  118. The first strike was always his fastest, the blade flying out from its sheath as Taiga shoves not his edge, but the pommel of his katana into his targets ribs! It'd be just enough to give him pause, distract him so that Vaan could help distract him as well.
  119.
  120. Leaping backwards, Taiga tries the math himself.
  121.
  122. He had to hit him. With his sword. ...More than once. To do that, he had to get in range to actually hit the man with his sword. Easy as pie, against most people. But that man was literally actually on fire and not playing around ONE BIT. What a conundrum.
  123.
  124. "Alright. I will not fail you, Vaan."
  125. (Taiga Voss)
  126. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  127.
  128. [15:19] After finally getting out of the former war-camp and heading back to Crafthold, Daius found himself heading to the north; where he appeared to capture the vision on something rather distasteful. Conflict, between two people who he knew. No, two people who were his family. Something which, was not normal; at all.
  129.
  130. His uncles, Vel and Paris were fighting; or rather were fighting. By the looks of it, Vel had managed to come out on top and was preparing a 'finishing blow' so to speak. What could possibly be going on here; why would they be fighting? Had the defeat to the Gehennan's caused his family to go insane.
  131.
  132. Nothing right now was making sense, apart from the words which Vel announced; She murdered my sister. She murdered family. She will die.
  133.
  134. Questions flooded Daius' head; questions which would soon be flung towards Vel and Paris, in search of answers. Although that would have to wait; what with the assault upon the former. It was clear that Daius wasn't going to make it to stop the purple haired kitsune.
  135.
  136. Instead, he'd shout aloud; as he watched the scene unfold. His uncle, Paris; being struck by a blade of fire and becoming limp.
  137.
  138. "...WHAT ARE YOU DOIN'!?"
  139.
  140. Daius' teeth, gritting against one another; as the earth around him began to be drawn towards his body; coating it before crumbling away. Revealing something, quite perculiar. A metallic shell, fixated to the boy. Like a second skin.
  141.
  142. "WHATEVER HAPPENED TO MAINA DOES NOT MAKE THIS OKAY; THAT DIDN'T TAKE COURAGE; TO BEAT FAMILY, TO HURT THOSE WHO ARE WEAKER THAN YOU; WHO ONLY CARE FOR YOU..."
  143.
  144. Of course, Daius was aware that losing a family member was hard; especially a sibling. But to hurt another family member because of it? Disgraceful.
  145.
  146. There was not Virtus in that; it didn't take courage; or manliness to do that. It was cowardly.
  147.
  148. An audible clunk could be heard, as the now metal encased male slammed his fist together. His ocean eyes, burning with a desire he never carried before.
  149. (Daius Invidia)
  150. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  151.
  152. [15:19] Sinael Anauel says, "Wrong one."
  153. [15:23] Ra'Kamel says, "Hm.."
  154. [15:25] Daius Invidia says, "who tf is taiga"
  155. [15:29] Sinael runs toward the blazing field, the previously calm father of vaan had blown a fuse. Flames erupted around him in a terrifying blaze of glory. Had hell opened the gates below, this was surely what fire came spewing forth melting the earth until it reached the surface of the lands.
  156.
  157. Vel Invidia had gone mad.
  158.
  159. Only hoping to aid his friend, he supposed he shouldn't use his full force. He needed to be able to separate them at most. Yet that seemed way out of his resume, two high powered magi, several kids. It didn't seem like this was going to end well no matter which way you cut it.
  160.
  161. With only one thing in mind, hoping to be able to soar above the group and the flames below the boy called to his star in prayer once more. Extending his arms up high, bringing in what cosmic energy he could from Rigel.
  162.
  163. He focused that mana in his back, a sparkling torrent of energy shot out from his mid section, two crude cosmic wings appeared. Barely tangible, ifanything they'd barely be able to help the boy glide.
  164.
  165. Running towards Vaan his blade was prepared to work in unison, only aiming to tear the earth apart seething the roaring flames, making way for van's gravity magic. Hopefully that would slow his rampaging father down.
  166.
  167. If not, they would all cease to exist here and now in the memories of the dirt, turned to ash and forgotten with the years that come to pass.
  168.
  169. "I'm right behind you Vaan!" He yelled out to make sure he knew he was coming.
  170.
  171. His eyes waver for a moment on the image of the blazing kitsune before him. Would these feeble wings be enough to help? He could only be thankful that he was finally able to channel the magic he had focused on manifesting for so long.
  172.
  173. The meditation had paid off to some extent.
  174. (Sinael Anauel)
  175. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  176.
  177. [15:35] Sinael Anauel exclaims, "I'll hold him down!"
  178. [15:35] Daius Invidia says, "he need some milke"
  179. [15:35] ** Taiga Voss has inflicted an injury upon Vel Invidia. ("Temporary Injury", "Temporary Injury", "Temporary", "Duration: Medium (4 days)") **
  180. [15:48] Taiga gives it his best. But damn this man was scary.
  181.
  182. Having to raise his blade against someone who he revered so highly was troubling enough, the hesitation having be fought through with each and every hit. More so than that, Vel gave Taiga a damn good reason to be scared. Fire. He had never felt flames like this before, so efficiently able to scorch the life out of whatever it touched.
  183.
  184. Just being grazed was enough to sear his flesh in an instant, every attack Vel used threatening to be his last. Worse than that, his allies were oft in the way of those attacks themselves. The fighters weave in and out of eachothers paths in unison, buzzing like flies and swooping in to land blows on the enraged Invidia.
  185.
  186. "Alright... I'm putting an end to this."
  187.
  188. The flow of time... was altered! Vel's flow, his perception of reality would become twisted as Taiga's intense focus began to shift the very fabric of time itself. Bit by bit, everything would seem to slow to a crawl. Seconds slowly dragging out as Vel was forced to watch Taiga lazily drift his sword down towards its sheath. The other fighters were surely advancing on him -- and it felt like he had plenty of time to react but. No matter how hard the man struggled... he couldn't fight time.
  189.
  190. Click!
  191.
  192. As Taiga's blade is finally sheathed... time would stop. Vel's genius mind could likely see through Taiga's technique in an instant. Linking the flow of the two fighters time... to his blade. Which, now sheathed, had stopped the world on a dime. In reality, Vel would've been completely open to attacks the entire time while Taiga performed this ritual like magic. Normally, such a technique would be useless, Taiga having to freeze himself as well.
  193.
  194. But Taiga didn't need to be the one to win this. He just needed to open the path for his friends.
  195. (Taiga Voss)
  196. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  197.
  198. [16:04] "HUAHHH!"
  199.
  200. For a moment, Taiga froze time for himself and the raging inferno before them. The flames setting portions of Sinaels clothes on fire, the smell of burned hair stunk in the area as he pressed forward try and aid everyone.
  201.
  202. He kept back his wind magic, trying not to fan the flames. The young adult relied on the earth below, slicing at the ground making the land un even as he fought hoping for Vel to trip into one of the earth traps should he come loose from Taiga's spell.
  203.
  204. Sinael leapt forward, smashing his sword into the ground a rock wall emerging up into the air a solid eight feet high. His sandals dug deep into the ravaged terrain, he dashed forward running for the pillar. His back explosive with cosmic energy yet he felt as if he was being drained a bit too fast. His next move would be his last. Having taken the brunt of the fire damage as well, this would have to seal the deal.
  205.
  206. Wings of golden cosmic energy struggled to keep themselves in their pitiful unrefined state. He ran up the length of the rock pillar, crouching deeply as he sprung forth from the top of it. He soared into the night sky, sparkling gloriously while airborne. He charged the remaining cosmic power left at his disposal placing it all into his left hand, if he did it in his sword... who knows what would happen to Vel.
  207.
  208. A giant glowing fist, two flickering golden wings, and the pained face of a teen striking down his friends father, came down in record timing as he cosmic dashed downward to increase his descent speed.
  209.
  210.
  211. "SHOOTING STAR IMPACT!"
  212. (Sinael Anauel)
  213. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  214.
  215. [16:04] It was safe to say, Vel most certainly represented exactly what every Invidia should strive to become; Powerful. It was that simple, this man had hit a peak with fire magic that most people could only dream about. Hitting a level where only a very minute amount of fire magi had hit before; even less being comparable to the kitsune's power.
  216.
  217. Scary.
  218.
  219. The flames roaring from the staff of the purple haired man, threatened not only to sear through the armour which the others were wearing; but also melt their flesh away from the bones. A truly terrifying thought, if any of them had taken a hit head on; it would most certainly have been the end for them.
  220.
  221. However, Daius... Was a little different. He had been working, harder than ever before to push himself into metal magic; focusing primarily on the metallic shell which he believed would protect him against any form of attack, to some degree.
  222.
  223. Something which was certainly tested in thisbattle. Being struck head on by an enormous blaze, which engulfed the male; along with sending him crashing into the earth. Creating a human-sized hole in it.
  224.
  225. The sheer heat from the flames, began to melt away at the male's armour. Rendering it useless, one would usually be exposed.
  226.
  227. However, this metallic skin which had been created; stood the test. Although, certainly not as perfectly as he would like. Likely due to the difference in power between the Invidia and his Uncle.
  228.
  229. His metal skin, began to melt away somewhat. Fortunately, not completely. His actual flesh, never truly exposed to the flames. Fortunately.
  230.
  231. One would assume, he was out of it. Or worse.
  232.
  233. The battle continued much without Daius. Who most people would have lost track with; that was until a sudden vibration of sound flew towards the ears of Vel. Likely slowing him down, just enough for him to fall prey to Taiga's technique.
  234.
  235. Arising from the crater hewas left in, oddly close to Vel; Daius' eyes narrowed. That burning desire, matched the burned; charred look of his metal coat as he advanced upon his uncle. Anger, brewing beneath the surface.
  236.
  237. Not because he almost hurt the boy; but because he had given up his Virtus in Daius' eyes. A stamp on the ground followed, hard. The ground below being disturbed by it; a second, and a third followed before suddenly.
  238.
  239. The body of Daius lashed out, a boot coated in metal; shaped akin to an anvil slammed against his Uncle's chin. Presumable, his uncle would be rendered floored and otherwise unconscious.
  240.
  241. …Sweet Chin Music...

  260.
  261. [16:23] The flames suddenly starts to exhaust and disappear, including the small bit that flowed from his eyes.
  262.
  263. Grey hues was exposed again, focusing on the group that has defeated him.
  264.
  265. "I've failed... I'm sorry..
  266.
  267. Priscilla."
  268.
  269. Vel's eyes would slowly close. Not only the exhaustion from the battle was taking place but all of the damage and pain started to roll in too.. The effects of the rage potion was nearing its end.
  270.
  271. The battle was over...! [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d8iM21dc5M ]
  272.
  273. His back immediately crashed against the ground, forcing the dirt from the ground to pop into the air. The Kitsune's arms and legs were spread out as well, similar to an individual making a snow angel. The Invidia's body carried so many cuts, burns and wounds from the battle but surprisingly they were all treatable.
  274.
  275.
  276. (Vel Invidia)
  277. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  278.
  279. [16:29] Let the flow of time return to normal.
  280.
  281. --Taiga opens his eyes to a reality in which Vel had been defeated. Part of him was afraid that after he stopped the incantation, he'd somehow awaken to all his friends having been bodied. It was certainly possible, with how swiftly they fell to his flames.
  282.
  283. He breathes an audible sigh of relief.
  284. (Taiga Voss)
  285. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  286.
  287. [16:30] Taiga Voss says, "...Thank you."
  288. [16:30] Taiga Voss says, "For the help."
  289. [16:35] Daius froze in place, as his uncle fell before his ocean eyes. The words he spoke; his failure. Words he had not expected to flow from his mouth; to think someone as great as Vel Invidia had failed... Was shocking.
  290.
  291. No where near as shocking as the final mutter, mind you. The name; one which Daius had spent his early years referring to as Mummy, his teenage years as Mum and his later years as... Priscilla. Why... Why had Vel said her name, was it to bring guilt or shame to Daius?
  292.
  293. To attack his own Virtus for assaulting his own family, by reminding him of his relation to the Kitsune...
  294.
  295. No, that was far too... Malicious for Vel. He wasn't like that; he wasn't capable of that. Not even in this current state.
  296.
  297. Soot coated the face of the puzzled Invidia; falling into the creases made from his squinting. Charred metal slowly crumbling away from his frame and falling down to the ground. Still, he could not make sense of what his uncle had just muttered.
  298.
  299. Well,
  300.
  301. That was until his cyan eyes motioned over towards where Paris was. Confused eyes, fell dormant. Unmoving; as they fell upon Maina. The boy's face dropped, slipping through the motions of worn out and relieved to; well, as if he had seen a ghost.
  302.
  303. Iris' slightly begin to shake, as his fist tightened up beside him. His palms, becoming sweaty as he began to shake. Finally, the words of his uncle now made sense; his rage now made a little more sense.
  304.
  305. After all, if Maina died; he'd be upset. He wouldn't beat up Paris though. This one however, made sense. Somewhat.
  306.
  307. "Tsk...Nhn.." he'd sob, stopping himself before he went any further.
  308.
  309. Finally the reality of what had happened settled in. Daius' mother had been killed in battle, a horrific blow to the Invidia family and more specifically Daius.
  310.
  311. However, he would not cry.
  312.
  313. Daius could not cry. It went against everything he stood for, and his mother would be ashamed of him; if he betrayed who he was.
  314.
  315. It was not manly to cry. Men do not cry.
  316.
  317. Yet; if someone looked close enough, they'd see that he too was failing at holding back all the tears. A small portion escaping his eyes, and slowly rolling down his cheek disturbing the soot.
  318. (Daius Invidia)
  319. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
