  1. When they reach inside of the temple, the Shenlong searches amidst his garments, only to pull on a teleportation stone that seems to be somewhat.. different from what it was. While some may recognize Illyothian technology that is related to teleportation, this one was already cleansed of all corruption that remained with it - namely, the Chaotic, unstable energies that come about with its origins.
  2.
  3. Instead, it's in the blank state, purged of any tuning it had before.
  4.
  5. The blank state that he seeks to change. Needless to say, he imagines that this work might be in tandem, where the shaman would have to imbue some spiritual essence of his own, to attune it to the Spirit Worlds - the Wayfinding part, however, is actually setting destination.
  6.
  7. "What I needed is for you to place runes responsible for all Spirit Realms. I need major realms covered, all to make sure that this teleportation stone can transport to any of the selected."
  8.
  9. "Yggdrasil, Joruheim, Vanaheim, Helheim, Alfheim, Ifraheim, Uraheim and Terraheim."
  10.
  11. "While you work on setting 'destinations' to these spirit realms, I'll help attune it to the travel for Spirit Realms as a whole - I will also make it imprint on the essence of whoever used it, so that they can tap back into connection with teleportation stone and be sent back home."
  12.
  13. "In other words - a two-way ticket, in and out of Spirit Realms."
  14.
  15. "Would it be possible for you to lay these destination runes? I'll take care of the rest."
  16.
  17. His training with essences, acknowledging how they work, and evenembracing them.. it all led to this moment in spiritmancer's life. He cannot fail or back away now.
  18. (Keitaro)
  19.
  20. As they entered the temple, the green haired Fae lifted up and off Keitaro's shoulder, allowing him time to speak with the blonde. She flitted about in the air excitedly, this way and that before coming to a semi-rest in the air. Her wings continued to flutter, keeping her aloft as she heard him explain what he needed from Magdalen.
  21.
  22. Siofra was nothing but patient, it seemed. After all, she had multiple human lifetimes to learn the art of Wayfinding, did she not?
  23.
  24. "Ah, miss Magdalen, when you are done I would like to discuss learning Wayfinding from you as well! Yes yes!"
  25. (Siofra)
  26.
  27. A careful look is paid between Magdalen and Keitaro.
  28.
  29. He'd recall the conversations that the former Shaman had with the meeting in what they'd discuss though it didn't occur to him just how soon he meant to act. A pleasant smile was given as he placed a hand on the Artificer's shoulder thinking if anyone could, she'd certainly be apt.
  30.
  31. "Times like this I do wish I could help...
  32.
  33. Mnh. Well. if you need any spiritual advice...." the panther would make a perturbed expression some, as he still felt it weird to not be in the spot of Chieftain.
  34.
  35. His inclusion here was nothing more than a pleasantry, but he definitely appreciated it.
  36. (Kabu)
  37.
  38. The Angel-blooded, tall and flawlessly, inhumanly serene, follows along behind the Shenlong! White feathers ruffle, four metallic-gold, dead seeming pinions among them.
  39.
  40. Magdalen's focus turns to the piece of Illyothan technology, gazing upon it with obvious interest. A few soft hums of consideration are given as her gold-stained eyes look it up and down!
  41.
  42. Then, her gaze flits up to Keitaro's own, once he starts speaking to her about what he'd like done, a blink-blink given his way. She looks kind of confused, speaking to the other.
  43.
  44. "Dear... Firstly, runes take surface area to scribe - even if what you asked was possible, you'd need a lot more then that little gem to write them on.
  45.
  46. Then, Wayfinding doesn't work like that. It's a place-to-place system of travel between specific known destinations one can visualize in the real world through a Territory circle. There are no glyphs for different locations, and even if they where, I highly doubt anyone would be able to get behind Joruheim's silver barrier, and transporting oneself into Helheim would be really... Unwise.
  47.
  48. Third, why are you asking me this, dear? I have no context for this at all, and you're asking me to repurpose a piece of Illyothan technology, without first allowing me to examine it, and without a clear goal or recompense told...
  49.
  50. I like working on projects, dear. But I don't just work on any project."
  51.
  52. Her voice is soft and gentle, not aiming to talk down to him, just calmly bringing up points. Looking to the Fae, she gives a soft smile;
  53.
  54. "I'll be showing classes soon, dear. I've been constantly pushed off track with those..."
  55. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  56.
  57. In truth, there's very little he knew about how Wayfinding works, only the very surface area; and yet, when she speaks, he can't help but ponder on immediate solutions - this wasn't something he'd give up on so quickly, because quite often, finding alternative is something that becomes simply not possible. Though..
  58.
  59. "I suppose we could always connect the stone to a greater surface, if that's necessary. The Joruheim marking could be placed on the outskirts. Also.."
  60.
  61. "If it helps attuning you, I could transport us to these realms through projecting our spiritual essences. It would be brief, and each sequence of travel might take a little, but it's still possible to get us through like that."
  62.
  63. "Just know that I could already open your eyes to these realms. I'm not sure how exactly it would be possible otherwise, as you're a Wayfinder here, not me."
  64.
  65. A pause. It's far that she would be asking for purpose, and for that, he speaks further.
  66.
  67. "This stone is to grant access to Gehennan people as a whole to Spirit Realms, a safer one and reliable at that."
  68.
  69. "It is made so that they could actually learn from spirits and commune better - and in the end, I also wish to serve as a bridge between spiritual and physical realms. That bridge would be to improve the station of the two."
  70.
  71. "In case there's any question in particular, please ask."
  72. (Keitaro)
  73.
  74. The white-feathered listens to the other's words. Truthfully, she'd worked on something similar to this in the past, built by a different Spiritmancer and utilizing an extreme amount of materials.
  75.
  76. Regardless, Magdalen reaches out to have a hand flourish infront of her! A runic disk of glimmering white-gold is conjured, pushed gently with her right hand to settle around the wrist of the left. They're dizzying complex, shifting and... Calculating?
  77.
  78. Obvious not something related to Wayfinding, Magdalen motioning to the desk.
  79.
  80. "Mm. Well, I'd like to ask for a few things - not out of greed or anything, mind you, but I require materials and components and coin to be able to continue my work.
  81.
  82. The first thing I'd like to ask for is a scan of that Illyothian device you have. This isn't really payment, more then something necessary for me to be able to alter its functionality.
  83.
  84. You'll find my abilities... Far in advance of any other craftsman on this continent."
  85.
  86. A humble brag, sure. A gold-circuit tattooed hand waving about nonchalantly.
  87.
  88. "I can already envision a few ways, to be totally honest. I've built something like this before - but on a larger scale, with a Spire Shard at its core.
  89.
  90. I would like to ask if this device will be a monument, publicly accessible? Or will it be like my brother's Lighthouse, used by only a select few - or will you or another be the only one permitted to use it, hmhm?"
  91.
  92. A casual question given, one eyebrow raised.
  93. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  94.
  95. Magdalen Elisheva says, "Ah - and any other Illyothian devices, as well. You could say I'm a sort of scholar of Ancient Agarthan techniques related to artifice."
  96.
  97. There's one large benefit to this stone - it's already capable of teleportation on its own.
  98.
  99. All that they had to do is actually attune it to something, basically give it 'direction'. While other projects may have required a lot of work from scratch, and would need not only that direction, but also the necessary fuel and actual ability to teleport.. this was not the case here.
  100.
  101. "If you require to scan it, here. Though, I would ask that you do not keep it, and do so here - Calael offered to keep it with himself as well, but I had to decline."
  102.
  103. "The reason is because this project is fairly important, and both you and Calael can be difficult to find later. If there's nothing that can be done here, I would be forced to begin searching other means to attune this stone."
  104.
  105. And this implies having it, inthe first place. Though, despite such words, he carefully offers it to her; it's a darkened teleportation stone, clearly with potential of teleportation, but it seems purged of any Chaotic energies. It seems more... reliable, stable.
  106.
  107. "I imagine this teleportation stone allows much of the work to be circumvented."
  108.
  109. "Even before the purge, even before attuning it properly, it was already seen teleporting things. It's already capable of teleportation - so all we have to do is give it direction, as it was already purged of malignant energies."
  110.
  111. "And... while this will be publicly accessible, technically, we would not allow just about any straggler to use it."
  112.
  113. "It's both for safety of this crystal, and the safety of people. Those that have bad intentions could misuse it, and those ignorant could hurt themselves using it."
  114.
  115. "It will be public, but monitored and controlled."
  116.
  117. For obvious reasons.
  118. (Keitaro)
  119.
  120. The white-feathered doesn't reach to take the object. Both of her gold-circuited hands come together, glistening thread-like projections of gold-white mana drift from those tattooed fingers, dancing about and coalescing in a specific point between her hands, forming an ball of those glimmering threads!
  121.
  122. She'll motion again with her head to have it set down on the table, striding over to it, once it is!
  123.
  124. At this point, she'll guide that glittering sphere towards the device with her right hand - the one without the ever-shifting, turning three-tiered wheel of runes about it!
  125.
  126. With a deft movement of hand, she'd press sphere to device! A bright, brief flash results, before it subsides - to showcase no sphere, and instead, the shard is alight with energies that trace throughout its insides! A slow, glimmering movement of those 'threads' illuminating every circuit, every pathway that mana can flow within it.
  127.
  128. Gold-tainted eyes flit from the device to the rune-wheel, different glyphs and symbols changing in a rapid shifting of runes. Her focus is intense and absolute, utterly aimed at the assessment of her diagnostic wheel, and the visual examination of the machine itself.
  129.
  130. It'll take a while for the light to fade from the machine, before her gaze turns just to the wheel. And after a few minutes, eyes close. Processing what she just witnessed...
  131.
  132. And after a minute of that, immediately, she opens notebook, her quill-pen brandished as her rune-wheel flickers and breaks into glowing sparks of gold-white light! With speed, five pages of that notebook are quickly covered in diagrams and fine, fine glyphs! Difficult to read her writing, or make sense of the diagrams...
  133.
  134. "… Okay! Now that that's in my head..."
  135.
  136. Setting her notebook and quill-pen into her cloak, the white-feathered turns back to the group.
  137.
  138. "… I'd like to ask what you'd be willing to offer me, hmhm? Coins, materials - especially rare ones?
  139.
  140. But I would like, aside from that, the permission and chance to scan all the Illyothan technology Gehenna receives, so as to advance my research. Mhm.
  141.
  142. I won't be able to do any work, right now, but I would like to have an agreement set up, first, dear."
  143. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  144.
  145. What she does is perceived as naught but assessment given by the Artificer, but it's fairly understandable on her behalf. After all, this piece of technology would otherwise fully belong to Gehenna - but so long as she can examine it, the shaman figures it to be a fairly decent payment as it is.
  146.
  147. While it's certainly necessary for her to work with.. at the same time, it opens up possibility to simply replicate this. Perhaps, an even better version.
  148.
  149. Still, once the light settles down..
  150.
  151. "...I think having access to all of Illyothan technology that Gehenna accesses is already a great boon, Magdalen."
  152.
  153. "I understand that you're an Artificer of great value, and this practically means a possibility you can replicate everything that comes in here. Even if that isn't enough-"
  154.
  155. "Then I suppose you could use device on your own when it's ready, and take the spoils from Spirit Realms. Terraheim alone is composed of large areas of Soulsteel - many different realms have much more."
  156.
  157. "On top of that.. I'm not exactly a rich man. Most of what I do comes back to community. If having access to technology and share of Spirit Realm expeditions isn't enough.."
  158.
  159. A shrug.
  160.
  161. "I guess there's nothing else I can give to you."
  162. (Keitaro)
  163.
  164. Of course.
  165.
  166. Magdalen already has the knowledge to replicate a number of Illyothian wonders.
  167.
  168. "Of course, dear. The problem is materials. I'm going to need materials if I need to build anything - all the knowledge in the world isn't always helpful if I've nothing to be able to work with...
  169.
  170. Soulsteel would be extremely useful for myself, however. And for everyone - as it's something that assists me in the mending of souls.
  171.
  172. If you can't spare anything beside an eventual promise of that metal, and permission to do that, then I'd like to ask for authority in your words. An official declaration that I'm permitted to examine such - and it'd benefit whoever that item belongs to, as I'm able to uncover hidden details about specific devices...
  173.
  174. Like how this shard would do well to have a powerful source of mana. It'd aid in what you intend to do with it..."
  175.
  176. With that, Magdalen stretches out arms and wings!
  177.
  178. "Alright! I should head out now, plenty of work to do - but if you can agree to Soulsteel access in the future, and an official declaration of my examining of Gehennan-posessed Illyothian technology for the good of the tribes, then I'll agree to assist you in making this, mhm."
  179. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  180.
  181. The wars never ended.
  182.
  183. Instead, rather than fighting sword to sword, there are 'fights' of agreements and different deals made- as someone representing Gehenna, it was in his best interests to actually ensure that whatever happens could still somewhat benefit Gehenna as a whole.
  184.
  185. "I cannot make such large decision on my own, however, I doubt that Elyon or anyone else in Council would disapprove."
  186.
  187. "But very well, I'll see to it that you'd have access and could actually travel the Spirit Realms for those spoils."
  188.
  189. It's all a promise. Though, thankfully, Keitaro is actually a man of his word - what came about as agreements made by him were still all upholding even until nowadays.
  190.
  191. "I have faith that you would not hog whatever progress is made for the good of Agartha as a whole."
  192.
  193. Like certain others did. But placing a little faith always goes a long way in helping to secure deals like that. A pause lingers, and he speaks again.
  194.
  195. "I suppose you'll begin the actual work later on?"
  196. (Keitaro)
  197.
  198. The pleased Angel-blooded gives a simple nod again towards the other!
  199.
  200. "Of course, feel free to talk it over with Chieftain Elyon - I'm sure it'd probably be more authoritative if he announced it, as well.
  201.
  202. And thank you - once I determine the presence of the metal, I could even commission younger warriors to hunt it for me, hmhm? They'd certainly be able to strengthen themselves during that quest, and gain experience!
  203.
  204. Maybe even kill some Nethradin too."
  205.
  206. A chuckle is had at Keitaro's assertion.
  207.
  208. "I'll try not to, dear. I've already invented a means for fixing those marked by Sors, so perhaps that counts as a point in my favor, hmhm?
  209.
  210. But yes, I'll be beginning work later on. Even if you just have the servants prepare a workshop, I can do it on my own."
  211.
  212. And with that, she'll depart!
  213. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  214.
  215. With the woman departing, he merely nodded at her words, though soon he began making his way to the exit; there was no need to linger around here for the time being, as it seems the work would continue later on. In truth, it's something he expected, but..
  216.
  217. The negotiations have still passed somewhat rocky.
  218.
  219. These demands were both expected and unexpected. Mulling something over in his mind, the drakanite was headed to the exits.
  220.
  221. "Mmh.."
  222. (Keitaro)
