Ghost Fix 2

Makoto’s story is radically different. He still has his sister complex though, but because there’s no Shenron/Holy Grail wannabe to bring her back with, he is just searching for a means to save her. He also has her Eyecon.

Like Takeru, he views the Ghost Busters in a negative light, but for a different reason. Since his sister is, by all rights and merits, a ghost, he’s afraid the Busters will target her and destroy his chances of saving her life.

The Specter Eyecon is also different. It’s an Eyecon belonging to the ghost of a berserker who had died long ago and using the Eyecon would result in brief periods of rage, as if being possessed by the ghost in the Eyecon.

In fact, the Eyecons sort of work like Den-O in that regard. The Riders who use them get possessed by the ghost of that Eyecon, even speaking as them, though it wouldn’t be like with Den-O where they get different voice actors, rather the Riders would just speak in tones similar to how the ghosts would speak.

Makoto gains Nobunaga’s Eyecon because Nobunaga could sense his ambition. He gains Tut’s Eyecon by sympathizing with his death at an early age, just like Kanon, and Houdini still has to have his trust won before his Eyecon could be used.

He doesn’t but heads with Takeru as much because of the lack of any wish granting thing to compete for. However, because he’s the rival and all that, the most he does is be aloof and comment on Takeru being an idiot.

Takeru and Makoto still have their childhood friend angle. However, it’s been so long that they don’t recognize each other until Onari brings it up (since he’s been Takeru’s father figure after Ryu died) and they only meet each other in suit. After that, though, they become belligerent friends (since, again, Takeru is unable to wish Kanon back to life so that Makoto could be buddy buds with him).

Makoto also has the banished to the Ganma World angle. And the Ganma World is fucking hell. You can’t even live there because then your body will slowly decay. It’s meant to be a world for only ghosts to thrive. Makoto was able to get out, but Kanon was too weak and died as a result. And yes, it’s only a world for ghosts to thrive in… So that means no Ganma royal family.
