  3. I've been [writing a rant](https://pastebin.com/QrJUC4Mw) for r/CharacterRant for the better part of 3 hours and realized that I don't really have enough numbers or facts to support my claims. Specifically, I lack recent revenue figures for the Macross franchise as well as other specific instances of Bandai's and Harmony Gold's litany of mistakes in marketing and handling of their franchises. Being that you're the only English-language reporter I know who specializes in mecha, I request some help in at least setting the rest of the story straight and maybe gain some inside info.
  4.
  5. My questions:
  6.
  7. 1. Are there public records of Macross' overall revenue figures, TV ratings and/or sales numbers for physical media since its inception (or at least since 2008)?
  8.
  9. 2. What do you think stands out as a classic case of Bandai making a blunder in the pre-SEED era of Gundam? Post-SEED? Why?
  10.
  11. 3. Precisely how damaging was harmony Gold's mismanagement of Macross, Super Dimension and Robotech at large? What are some small things even fans don't know that contributed to it being not such a "big deal" today?
  12.
  13. 4. Gundam has managed to help shape multiple eras of anime through the decades, and has kept itself reasonably relevant both in Japan and internationally since 1981's new Century Declaration. Besides the obvious marketing and merch push and overall quality of the written material, how else did Bandai-Namco-Sunrise keep Gundam afloat?
  14.
  15. 5. Do you this Macross can secure their own "SEED" moment a second time after *Frontier*? what will it take for international audiences to turn to Macross once the new sunrise-produced anime comes up?
  16.
  17. 6. What other factors did I miss?
  18.
  19. Thanks for lending me your time!
