  1. Introduction
  2. Welcome FKA! Through the time of this amino existing, we have come across many problems with arguably the most controversial fish that is in fish keeping: all variations of the Carassius Auratus, also known as the goldfish. This rule exists to address the problems of all fish in a similar situation. In fact, a list will be added below explaining what fish this rule specifically applies to. With this rule, we plan to compromise with keepers while also having the ability to make sure animals are not hurt by beginners and that we are able to stop people from harming their fish. This rule may extend to animals beyond the ones listed but that will be added after some time.

  4. Stipulations
  5. Instead of recommending blanket statements that all goldfish need 6 foot tanks, we will be doing it based on the current size of the animal. This means that if your species is currently 2 inches long, we will not force you to give it a pond. While it may eventually need one, it is not an immediate requirement.
  6.
  7. A. If a species listed on this post is under 2 inches it may be kept in a 20 gallon long or a 30 inch by 12 inch by 12 inch tank.
  8. B. If a species listed on this post is under 6 inches it may be kept in a 40 breeder or a 36 inch by 18 inch by 16 inch tank.
  9. C. If a species listed on this post is under 8 inches it may be kept in a 55 gallon or a 48 inch by 12 inch by 21 inch tank.
  10. D. If a species listed on this post is under 10 inches it may be kept in a 75 gallon or 48 inch by 18 inch 21 inch tank.
  11. E. If a species listen on this post is under 12 inches it may be kept in a 125 gallon or 72 inch by 18 inch by 23 inch tank.
  12. F. If a species exceeds 12 inches in length it should be kept in a pond preferably exceeding 600 gallons.
  13. G. These stipulations may only be broken in the case of medicating the animal.
  14.
  15. What fish apply
  16. Starting out, we will only be putting this policy on a few specific species of fish that are often kept in tanks too small for them. This rule may be extended in the future to apply to other fish that deal with similar problems. These are the included fish.
