the snowed out road shone
bright beneath the full moon
scored only by muttered swears
and muffled stomach gurgles
the tow truck is on its way
to give us a jump, but
until then we stew in silence in the
musk of hairspray and talcum powder
annoyed at the bum battery
the bad shortcut
the chunk of the budget this
road call will siphon off
so in a last ditch attempt at
weaving that silver thread
I slowly draw my thumb and forefinger
into the shape of a six-shooter
and before your eyes can even start rolling
I point to you and
mutter between chattering teeth
