I try not to vent because I'd hate to be a burden but this has been bothering me a lot

Someone I know irl who I barely talked to in the past has been spreading rumors and slander about me

I have never done any harm whatsoever to them but this slimy individual has been tarnishing my reputation among a certain friend group (who are no longer friends with me because of these rumors)

I can't help but get sad about it

I don't know what drove them to do this but my irl social life has been pretty much nuked since this friend group I used to be a part of all knew each other and they all knew me

I never did anything wrong to this person
All I can remember is I made a few jokes about fucking kpop and they've been giving me the cold shoulder ever since... It's so silly... And I've tried to contact all my friends to clear up misunderstandings but nobody wants to answer my messages or have anything to do with me

Around the same time, VRChat came around and pretty much saved me from going into a deep deep depression and I'm glad
