  2. # Kappa Governor Guide #
  3. ##############################
  4.
  5. As a city governor you have several critical responsibilities:
  6.
  7. 1. To maintain the strongest group of defensive towers for your location.
  8. 2. Maintain a Guard Tower to allow players to get daily Defensive Renown.
  9. 3. To make sure the bonus spots of your city are correctly utilized.
  10. 4. Make sure Alt’s are not abusing tower tokens (or bonus spots.)
  11.
  12. Failure to properly manage these resources will lead to you being replaced with someone who can, so please be very attentive to your duties.
  13.
  14. *****************
  15. How to maintain Guard Towers
  16. *****************
  17.
  18. Dwarf and Lich are the ideal towers as far as defensive capability and resource supply, you should target a 50% mix of each. Lich and Dwarf should be preferred over Human, Slyth and Rakan, but always try to maintain at least 18 towers at all times. All towers may initially contain “Off Race” or weak troops, but once cleared will repopulate with appropriate garrisons. The base power is a rough gauge of overall strength, but can be misleading if off-race troops are present or the Garrison is poor quality or incomplete. The Guard Towers created are just clones of real player strongholds from nearby servers, so they can be very intelligently configured or total off-race garbage. You need to take a look at the research and troops, or request a leader to evaluate it if you do not have the permissions to investigate yourself.
  19.
  20. Towers *must* be located in the first 5 rows of your city except for the Defensive Renown tower. No player or alt accounts should be allowed to locate in the first 5 columns, if you see a player stronghold there you should immediately kick them to the capital. We suggest that you place any Guard towers that need off-race wiped, or you intend to disband in the 5th column. You are allowed to alert people that there is a weak tower for harvesting, *BUT* you should never tell them to destroy a tower! Only the Governor of the city should ever disband a tower, it is your sole responsibility and it is not to be delegated. We want players to always avoid tower destruction, keeping the rule simple and consistent is the key to easy enforcement and proper behavior.
  21.
  22. Lastly, you are responsible for identifying and reporting when your towers have been illegally destroyed. By maintaining a clean tower grouping and managing them daily, you should be able to identify when one is in ruins. It is your job to go through the logs of your city and find the player who destroyed your tower and share that replay with the admins. The replay will show the walls being zeroed, this evidence is crucial and will help keep all players respectful of the property in your care.
  23.
  24. ****************
  25. Defensive Renown Guard Tower
  26. ****************
  27.
  28. The Defensive Renown tower *must* be located directly above or below the citadel so there is no confusion about its location or purpose. Weaker towers are preferred, and using Slyth, Rakan or Human towers are ideal as they will allow players to get achievements for the otherwise rare races. Players who forget to stop reenforcing the tower will need to be kicked back to the capitol, it is their responsibility to remember to stop guarding the tower, and if you are guilty of the same you may be replaced with another Governor, so pay attention.
  29.
  30. You are not obligated to arrange for the tower to be attacked or troops to be cleared, only to make sure the tower is present and is not destroyed or monopolized. Players should never protect the tower when someone else is using it, this is a form of ninjaing and needs to be reported to leadership for possible punishment. Conflicts may occur, scheduling should be restricted to the City (not House!) chat channel.
  31.
  32. No other towers are allowed to be reenforced. Alts or other methods attempting to be used are against our rules and should be reported.
  33.
  34. ****************
  35. What makes a strong Tower?
  36. ****************
  37.
  38. What makes a good Dwarf Tower? [1200k or more base power]
  39. The most important things for Dwarf towers are the rune bonuses and certain troop research. Mechs are very good tanks that will stall the attacker while snipers or bombers take out the sieging players troops and heroes. Everyone risks heavy losses from a strong Dwarf, so look for Gold Battlemech’s to have at least 350k of health (This will mean that the Silver Mechwalkers should be 180K+) and that the Riflemen have “Full Metal Jacket (Complete Tier 6 research)” which helps them one shot heroes and troops.
  40.
  41. What makes a good Lich Tower? [1000k or more base power]
  42. Lich towers best defensive aspect is that Skeleton troops in the garrison can continually revive and cause the attacker to waste massive amounts of energy, losing troops along the way. Also the spell caster’s resurrecting dead attackers negate all of Virion’s Sword resurrection abilities which is extremely painful for human attackers. The key things to look for are that Marauders have “Tenacity (Complete Tier 5 research)” and “Advanced Tenacity (Complete Tier 10 research)” which gives them 90% resurrection.
  43.
  44. What makes a good Human Tower? [1600k or more base power]
  45. Most of the towers you make will be Human since most players play that race. Human towers are pretty easy to siege, although a very strong one can be brutal. Dwarf and Lich are preferred, but if you happen to get a really strong one, keep it until all other weaker towers are replaced and if it is above 2000k it may be retained forever.
  46.
  47. What makes a good Rakan Tower? [1800k or more base power]
  48. Very rarely will a Rakan tower be desirable. Most of them will have all research focused on Turtles or Crossbows as these are almost always secondary Alternate accounts made for loaning out troops. On the off chance you find a strong one (1500k) check to see if it has off race troops. It may be a really strong player who race changed for an event. This means that once the garrison is wiped it will regenerate with Rakan troops and may result in a far more powerful tower.
  49.
  50. What makes a good Slyth Tower? [Unknown]
  51. We still don't know enough about the defensive capabilities of this new race. Avoid them until further notice.
  52.
  53. It is best to keep 2 open spots for towers (so 18 towers) so that both you, and your Royal Guards and officers can create towers. Keep building and replacing towers until you have a mix of only dwarf and lich towers. Once you have a full mix of Dwarf and Lich you can keep 20 towers and just disband the lowest powered tower and try for a better one. When making a new tower, if it is garbage, you may immediately disband it or place it in the 5th column and invite (via a link in All Kappa) the guild to clear it of value, but not to destroy it. Make sure to disband it as soon as it has been depleted.
  54.
  55. ********************
  56. How to utilize bonus spots
  57. ********************
  58.
  59. Bonus locations inside cities functionality are still poorly understood by players. They provide the indicated bonus *when the action is taken*, moving off the spot has no negative effect on actions that are queued. That means an Army bonus spot allows you to queue up the extra troops, then you can move elsewhere. And research spots allow you to add research tasks with a 10% time reduction and that reduction happens for *all* research you queued even if you are no longer on the square. The new rules now give a better city reward every 8 hours, so they are more in demand than ever, and players are going to want to permanently occupy them.
  60.
  61. Because of our need to let people queue up troops (in designated overcap cities) and get research discounts we do not want people *camping* on those Army and Research locations. If your city has one of those bonuses, it is your job to monitor who is sitting on a bonus spot and warn them or remove them (using the “kick” ability) if they stay beyond 30 minutes. We want the spot to reset as quickly as possible, and no excuses about the other one being open are acceptable. If someone has a lot of short research they need to complete (that would take less time to complete than the 12 hour cool down) they can request an extended stay in advance, and in that case you can allow them to stay longer. But make sure no one monopolizes a spot, this is your responsibility to manage.
  62.
  63. We only care about the Army and Research bonus spots at this time, but we may enforce these rules for building or other bonuses in the future, so please be aware.
  64.
  65. All regular bonus spots (Elixir, Gold and Wood) are first come first served, although you should make sure they are not camped on by alts if there are real players in need of these materials.
  66.
  67. ********************
  68. Alt’s and Tower Tokens
  69. ********************
  70.
  71. There is nothing more frustrating than finding out that someone’s alt has drained all the cities towers right before a contest. Alt’s are supposed to be located in the city occupied by that player’s main character to make sure anything they do also impacts that player, this ensures that they can be properly defended as well. They should never redeem “event” resources or deplete one type of resource from the city. Keep an eye on the way towers resources are being used by checking the tower logs and warn or report if they are being abused by alts in a way that harms the real players in your city.
