Background
Born and raised aboard a ship dedicated to piracy, Aisling was intimately familiar with the details of sailing and ship-to-ship combat from a young age. She became the youngest member of the Steel Rose Adventuring Company, working along side the crew once she was of age. Being a pirate wasn't simply a career choice for her but a way of life she understood better than any other. As the company expanded from piracy to mercenary work she encountered a freelance alchemist willing to pass on her knowledge to the girl. As they traveled to gather rare ingredients for the secretive woman she taught Aisling her science, delighted in how quickly the pirate child absorbed the information. Eventually they parted ways, though Aisling spent time ashore from then on buying herbs and powders to practice what she'd been taught. As Aisling approached the age of an adult (16) she started to yearn for life on a new ship to make a name for herself independent of the crew that had raised her. As they anchored in port for repairs she bid farewell to her family, intent on joining a new crew and finding new adventures and fortune.
