  1. I'll just put ideas/planning on here so it's easily accesable and changable

  3. Stages
  4. I think most "stages" (with that I mean a background/music/etc change) should be themeless, with a few theme based ones (like ice, forest, etc) sprayed in every here and then or alternatively we could have:

  6. a bunch of themeless stages
  7. all theme stages
  8. rest of themeless stages
  9.  
  10. generally the stages should get more hype the further you get to encourage/reqrd further play
  11.  
  12. we think every stage should be about 20-40 screens long (still variable)
  13. Every stage should have a few (constant number per stage or increaisng?) screens with obstacles, which stun the kid so he falls down a bit, a stunned kid should not be able to grab the vines
  14.  
  15. Obstacles
  16. The obstacles should get harder the further you progress, they should however never cause real trouble to the player, they are just supposed to make it more fun

  18. Here are a few ideas we had for obstacles
  19. a spike that moves slowly in and out of the block (should probably stay in the block a bit so it's not too hard)
  20. a cherry goes from left to right
  21. RNG(?) apples coming from one/both sides
  22. spike trigger that hits you if you go fast
  23. lasers that go from bottom to top and screen wrap
  24. different "pipe" sizes
  25. bouncing apples

  28. Tiles/Background

  30. for the most part the tiles should start out simple (guess we have megaman tiles for the 1st stage?) and become more cool looking (probably animated) when progressing further
  31. not much else to say here other than the obvious "bg and tileset should fit together" "it should be nice to look at" etc

  34. Graphic effects

  36. pretty similar to tiles/bg there should be no/hardly effects at the start and they become more over the time
  37. the effects should however not reach a level where you're unable to see/it's unpleasant to look at

  39. what I'm thinking is that the graphic effects are only distingushable objects in the theme stages and otherwise just cool looking gfx (can kinda compare to hunyuupunpun I guess)

  41. Music

  43. The music shoul just like the rest become more hype the further you progress
  44. an exception that that are the theme stages which the music has to be specifically chosen for
  45. I'm thinking of lyricsless music only
