Plans for the Near Future

So Christmas is coming up, as well as New Year's.  The holiday season will usher in two new speedgames for me to stream, at the very least, and possibly quite a lot more casual gaming if my upcoming event gets me a new PC.  Let's go over the plans I've got in mind.

-Next Few Days: First Runs of New Speedgames-
Over the weekend, I am going to be finishing practice on Trauma Center: New Blood, and de-rusting on Swordcraft Story 2, and actually doing one full speedrun of each by Sunday.

-12 Days of ChristmAce Event-
As many of you know, the 12 Days of ChristmAce is coming up starting on the 14th.  I'll be playing 12 days' worth of various games for different platforms, streaming every day for 12 days in a row, including Christmas Day, as I have no other plans for Christmas anyway.  This is partly because hey, it's the holiday season and thus a great reason to have an event anyway, and also because I'm hoping I can drum up the money for a new PC.

Let's get the obvious question out of the way.  Do I expect a miracle?  Let's start by just saying, frankly, no.  I know some donors on Twitch are insane people, and donate huge sums all at once, but while I know it's *possible*, I have no expectation of that happening; gotta be realistic for the size of my stream.  The primary hope is that everyone has fun, even if I don't meet the desired goal.

-Early 2016-
If enough donations are received that I get the new computer built and delivered, January and February are going to see a LOT of chill, casual streaming.  I'd love nothing more than to stream all the games I couldn't on this laptop, such as:
* Child of Light (which I have in my Steam library already; thanks to KandaKoSA)
* Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation (which again, I already have in my Steam library; kudos to TheNoodleUdon)
* Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3: V Generation (once purchased or gifted)
* Mighty No. 9 (once purchased or gifted)
* AkibasTrip: Undead & Undressed (once purchased or gifted)

In addition, a new PC would mean I can finally start really streaming StepMania!  You will get to see me not only play, but importantly, also COMPOSE stepcharts far more often (I've been reluctant to do so on the laptop, since the capture framerate tends to be awful for StepMania).  I would be playing on keyboard at first, but if enough donations come in that I can also purchase a Precision Dance Pad, you will see me play simfiles ON FOOT.

Don't forget also that a new PC would mean a general huge leap in broadcast quality.  I currently broadcast at 20 FPS (and don't even always get all of it), and my processor isn't exactly amazing, so quality tends to be low.  With a new PC, I will take some time to re-do my settings so I broadcast in preferably 720p, and I will up my bitrate and framerate as well, to whatever the new PC can handle.

So yes, a new PC would be a HUGE deal for my stream.

Even if I am not funded for a new PC, however, I will continue to deliver whatever content I am able.  I'll try to do what I can to stream casual play of games that aren't as demanding system-resource-wise, such as Find Teddy II, One-Way Heroics, and Epic Battle Fantasy 4.  You should know that I do not possess saintly patience; if it comes to it, I'll just play Neptunia Re;Birth2 off-stream (since it will likely *play* fine on this laptop, if my experience with Re;Birth1 is any indication, but won't *stream* well at all) and you won't get to experience it with me.  Which means long periods of me not-streaming.

-Speedrun Plans for 2016-
Here's where I stand and how I feel about the games I've been running, and what I think I'll be doing with them in the upcoming year:

* Mario 3: I'm pretty happy with my time of 58:30, but I know I can improve it some more, and my fans love it when I play Mario 3, so I do plan on continuing to play it so long as I still think I can improve my time and desire to do so (which does remain the case at the moment).  However, this game is somewhat on the back burner at the moment, given my plans for the next month or so.

* Trauma Center: Second Opinion: I will continue running this, alongside New Blood.

* Trauma Center: New Blood: I'd like to try to concentrate on this over SO for a while at least, but I want to be able to do either as the mood strikes.

* Swordcraft Story 2: This is quite a long run compared to even the Trauma Center games I do, so I might do like a Swordcraft Sunday or Swordcraft Saturday thing, perhaps?  I do want to run it regularly for a while, at least.

* Muramasa: The Demon Blade: If I can learn how to minimize the damage I take, and not need to rely so much on healing items, I'd love to at least learn to speedrun Momohime's route.

* Teleroboxer: I know it hasn't made an appearance on my stream in a while, and frankly, my mind isn't on it too much lately.  However, I'd like to get into it seriously again and continue looking for ways to speed up boxers; I want to see if I can stir up serious competition for this game.

-Casual Playthrough History & Plans-
Here's where I'll write down information regarding the casual plays I've done on stream this past year (in case you weren't with me that long), and if I've not finished them yet, if/when I plan to.  Yes, these things are on my mind from time to time as well, and I want you to know I do think about them.  In order of appearance on my stream:

* Persona 3 Portable: This was a regular thing when I first started streaming last year, but got more difficult, so it kinda dropped off after a while.  Those who were with me from the beginning would remember late-night P3P~  I'd still like to finish this if viewers really want to see grinding sessions, but if I get the new PC, it must be understood that Neptunia Re;Birth2 and 3 will take priority over this.

* Ys Origin: Despite a previous off-stream completion, I did not finish the game on-stream.  There are presently no plans to finish this run, especially if I get Oath in Felghana.

* Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep: I successfully finished the Aqua route.  I have no plans at this time to do Ven or Terra's routes, although it's my understanding the game isn't truly finished unless you do all three.  Maybe if my viewers bugged me to do it, and said it's something they want to see?

* Fairy Bloom Freesia: I have completed the entirety of the Story Mode on all difficulties on stream.

* Shovel Knight: I've completed Shovel Knight's story several times on stream now.  I do not have the game on Steam, so I would require it there plus the DLC if you want to see me try Plague's story.

* Freedom Planet: I have finished Lilac's story.  This was mostly fun, but had some hair-pulling moments.  Don't know if I'm gonna do Carol or Milla's routes, unless I'm pestered repeatedly to do so.

* Gurumin: Started, but remains unfinished as yet.  I definitely plan to finish this.

* New Super Mario Bros. Wii: This was played and finished in my solo run, and it was also featured in the stream where my sister played some games with me.  It is always open for possibility of additional playthroughs during specials or whatever.  (So you know, I have no plans at this time to speedrun NSMBW.)

* Muramasa: The Demon Blade: I played through and finished both Momohime and Kisuke's basic stories on-stream.  I did some grinding to get their second endings off-stream.  I was planning to stream getting their third (final) endings, but the unexpected difficulty of some of the enemy lairs has proven formidable.  However, I won't be giving up so easily!  If viewers want to see it, I will stream more of my casual file of this game.  (Please note that I am also going to potentially speedrun this game regularly!)

* Undertale: I successfully cleared one playthrough, finishing the Neutral route.  I'll be honest, I do like the game, but it just isn't a priority to me; getting me to do a Pacifist run is going to be difficult, given all the other things I want to do with my time instead.

-Last Word-
I will continue to seek to bring you new content throughout the new year, insofar as the technology I own and the money I have allows me to.  I don't think it's good to get stuck in a rut; I believe it's always good to try new things on stream - whether that's streaming casual play of games I've never played before, or learning new speedgames!  I will keep striving to entertain as I play games for your viewing pleasure; after all, that's what streamers do.
