BACKGROUND: inseong is from well-off family with parents who are kind, hardworking, and never home. his parents held traditional values and raised him to be prejudiced against the transgender community; he’s not proud of his view, but he can’t change it on his own and hopes that someone else will help him do so eventually. as the eldest to three younger siblings who he can never say no to, he was the mature, responsible one growing up. he puts his siblings’ future and education first, but he’s never been a great student, so he became a trainee toward the end of high school. he’s a good cook and has been playing the guitar since his dad gave him one for his ninth birthday. he still hasn’t come out of the closet yet, especially since some of the other members are so blatantly homophobic, and he doesn’t plan to, either.

PERSONALITY:
- PARENTAL: inseong is a bit of a mother hen, although he doesn’t try to be; despite being one of the younger members, he still has his parental tendencies from growing up with younger siblings.
- CLINGY: he’s gotten good at dealing with the mild anxiety that he struggles with, but spending time with the others usually helps more than locking himself in his room, so he can be clingy when he’s upset. it’s the only time he ever really lets go of his parental instincts.
- AFFECTIONATE: he’s more comfortable with physical contact than most of the other members. he does his best to make sure everyone feels loved and appreciated and that no one is left out of the loop.
- SILLY: he makes a lot of jokes and knows how to have a good time; he always tries to keep the mood light. it can be kind of annoying. he’s working on that.
- SELF-NEGLECTING: it’s not that he doesn’t want to care about himself, he just pays more mind to the other members than to his own well-being. he has yet to let it get too far, though, so he’s not worried about it and he doesn’t really care to.
- INEXPERIENCED: having never been abused or harassed, he can’t quite understand what some of the others have gone through, but he tries to be sensitive to their needs. when he can’t, he tends to let them drift away rather than deal with conflict.

ONSTAGE PERSONALITY: inseong is energetic and cheerful when he’s performing. he has a more happy than angsty presence onstage, unlike the rest of them, which becomes a problem when the songs they’re performing are sad or angry. he doesn’t like to interact with the audience much, but he encourages the other members to, and he’s always happy to meet fans so long as the interaction is brief. in terms of performance, dancing isn’t his strong suit, so for the most part he tries to stay out of the spotlight in favor of letting the dance line show their skills. he has too much of a friendly vibe to ever capture the cool-kid swagger of a rapper, so his main position is as a vocal. he can’t stop smiling whenever he performs.

OFFSTAGE PERSONALITY: inseong is more open offstage. he makes bad puns and has a high-pitched laugh that amuses the members more than the jokes. similar to when he’s onstage, he doesn’t interact with fans as much as he encourages the others to since he knows he’s always been awkward growing up. at fanmeetings, he always refuses requests for aegyo as politely as he can and subtly passes it on to the others. he’s just as cheerful but nowhere near as energetic as he is onstage, and he’s always optimistic and bright.

ON CAMERA PERSONALITY: inseong is quietest on camera, opting for wordless hugs or pats on the arm rather than his much more blatant shows of affection in private. he makes sure not to curse or be too snarky, although he usually doesn’t anyway. while he doesn’t shy away from the camera, he prefers to keep the attention on the other members. he doesn’t talk much on variety shows and things of the like, although he’ll crack a joke or two from time to time. sometimes during other members’ vlives, he’ll walk by and poke their cheek without explanation, just to show affection.

OFF CAMERA PERSONALITY: off camera, injeong is an endless stream of parental instincts and bad jokes. he obsesses over the members’ wellbeing, both mental and physical, and always makes sure they’ve eaten. he can be a bit overbearing or clingy at times, but it’s only because he cares about them; he fears he’ll lose them someday, so he tries his best to show them he loves them. he’s affectionate and supportive with unconditional loyalty, sometimes to a fault. the members who don’t get along with him as well tend to think he’s annoying, but he cares about them too and does what he can for them.

HOW ARE YOU WITH FANS: inseong often expresses his appreciation for fans’ support, but too much interaction with fans makes him anxious. he sees them as strangers, almost, so while he’s friendly with them he can’t quite talk to them as easily.

QUESTIONS AND/OR COMMENTS TO KYLIE + I: i know the height and weight don’t really match up, but apparently hwiyoung is 5’11” and like 135 lbs. so i hope that’s alright!! also, for the song name suggestions, 1984 refers to a book that takes place in a society where the government is in total control and the citizens are, in a sense, stuck. i think this would be a totally contrasting take on considering the situations of the members, especially those like ECTOPIC who don’t quite know what they’re doing with their life.
