Flash Fiction: Miki + Romance (Competition)

“If you manage to beat me in a race, I’ll do whatever you want. No rules, no limits. A~ny~thing.”

As I sprint down the track, chasing after Miki Miura, that one thought keeps me going. That, and my punishment should I lose.

“But... If you lose, you’re mine. Anything I can dream of, no matter how embarassing and demeaning, you’re gonna do it for me.”

I shudder at the thought and pick it up, my legs burning and chest thumping loudly. Two months ago, when this whole routine started, I could barely sprint 500 meters, much less the whole track. An dnow, I’m almost keeping pace with Miki.

Almost.

My mind turns to what Miki might have planned for me. Just the thought of it quickens my pace. That woman has one hell of an imagination.

Sadly, it’s just not enough. I get close enough to touch her, but she still bests me, pumping her fist into the air.

“Alright then, Mr. Nakai. Your punishment is... You have to treat me to dinner tonight.”

... What? “A date with the beautiful Miki Miura? Doesn’t sound like much of a punishment to me.” Miki rarely blushes, but when she does, she’s absolutely adorable.

“Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, Hisao. Meet me at my dorm in 30. And you damn well better be on time!” She kisses me on the cheek and takes off toward the girl’s dorms.

Just as she’s almost out of sight, she turns around. The sun behind her almost makes her glow. She looks positively gorgeous.

“Anyway, I love you too much to make you do something TOO embarassing!”

Tonight’s gonna be fun.
