  1. 1. Walk to the kitchen.
  2. 2. Locate the counter.
  3. 3. Place both hands on the edge of the counter to confirm you’ve found it.
  4. 4. Look for the loaf of bread on the counter.
  5. 5. If the bread is not visible, open the nearest cabinet and look for a loaf of bread.
  6. 6. When the loaf of bread is found, place it on the counter in front of you.
  7. 7. Grasp the top of the bread bag with one hand.
  8. 8. Twist the plastic tie counterclockwise until it loosens.
  9. 9. Remove the tie and set it on the counter to your right.
  10. 10. Open the top of the bag.
  11. 11. Reach one hand inside and grasp one slice of bread by the edge.
  12. 12. Gently pull it out of the bag without tearing it.
  13. 13. Place that slice of bread flat on the counter in front of you, approximately one foot from the edge.
  14. 14. Reach back into the bag and grab another slice in the same way.
  15. 15. Place the second slice of bread flat on the counter, directly to the right of the first slice, leaving about two inches of space between them.
  16. 16. Look for the jar of peanut butter.
  17. 17. If it is not on the counter, open the cabinet where food items are stored and search until you find a jar labeled “peanut butter.”
  18. 18. Place the jar on the counter to the left of the bread slices.
  19. 19. Twist the peanut butter jar lid counterclockwise until it comes off.
  20. 20. Set the lid on the counter upside-down, next to the jar.
  21. 21. Locate a butter knife in the utensil drawer.
  22. 22. Pull the drawer open using the handle.
  23. 23. Select a butter knife and remove it from the drawer.
  24. 24. Close the drawer completely.
  25. 25. Hold the knife by its handle in your dominant hand.
  26. 26. Insert the blade of the knife into the jar of peanut butter until about one inch of the blade is covered.
  27. 27. Pull the knife straight up out of the jar.
  28. 28. Move the knife over to the left slice of bread.
  29. 29. Starting at the top-left corner of the slice, spread the peanut butter evenly across the surface using smooth, back-and-forth motions.
  30. 30. Continue spreading until the entire surface of that slice is covered in a thin, even layer of peanut butter.
  31. 31. Wipe the knife on the edge of the jar to remove any excess peanut butter.
  32. 32. Find the jar of jelly.
  33. 33. If not visible, check the refrigerator door shelves for a jar labeled “grape jelly” or “strawberry jam.”
  34. 34. Remove the jar from the refrigerator and set it on the counter to the right of the peanut butter.
  35. 35. Twist the jelly jar lid counterclockwise until it comes off.
  36. 36. Set the lid upside-down on the counter next to the jar.
  37. 37. Use the same knife (or clean it first, if needed).
  38. 38. Insert the knife into the jelly jar until it touches the jelly.
  39. 39. Scoop a small amount of jelly onto the knife.
  40. 40. Move the knife over to the right slice of bread.
  41. 41. Place the jelly onto the center of the slice.
  42. 42. Spread the jelly across the surface using the same back-and-forth motion until evenly covered.
  43. 43. Pick up the left slice of bread by placing one hand under it.
  44. 44. Lift it carefully.
  45. 45. Align it above the right slice so the peanut butter side faces downward.
  46. 46. Lower the slice until it rests directly on top of the jelly-covered slice.
  47. 47. Press lightly on the top slice to help the two stick together.
  48. 48. Pick up the sandwich with both hands.
  49. 49. (Optional) If a smaller sandwich is desired, place it on a cutting board and use a knife to cut it diagonally from corner to corner.
  50. 50. Enjoy your sandwich.
