- Q: What are you trying to do?
- A: Beat Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness as quickly as possible without using glitches.
- Q: What are you playing on?
- A: A GameCube.
- Q: What is the best time?
- A: 4:34:26 by me.
- Q: What is your goal?
- A: To PB on a run I'm happy with.
- Q: What Pokemon do you use?
- A: Espeon and Ursaring for battles, and Ralts so I can give its Twistedspoon to Espeon.
- Q: Why Espeon and Ursaring?
- A: STAB Psychic and STAB Return are really strong, and you have access to these moves relatively early. Jolteon would be considerable if not for a long detour to pick up the Thunderbolt TM. Houndoom would be considerable if not for its slow experience curve and Flamethrower's slow animation.
- Q: Why are you resetting?
- A: Probably because my Eevee or Teddiursa has bad stats. XD is probably the most reset-heavy run in terms of stats, because the game is basically 5 hours of battles, and a turn in battle is 10+ seconds because of unskippable animations. I want Eevee to have a +Sp. Attack nature with 17+ Sp. Attack and 16+ Speed when I receive it at L10. I want Teddiursa to have 24+ Attack and 16+ Speed when I catch it at L11.
- Q: What route are you using?
- A: I am trying a new route that skips both Hyper Beam and Double-Edge. I think this is faster as long as your Attack isn't terrible (although it might be faster with bad Attack if you catch Zangoose for its Silk Scarf).
- Q: What are the biggest run killers?
- A: The main one is the Lovrina split, because you have limited access to healing items and Teddiursa is pretty weak at that stage. Besides that, there are dozens of places where you can die or lose 1+ minute to a random critical.
