  1. Continents:
  2.
  3. The Main Seven:
  4. North America, South America, Australia/Sahul/Australinea/Meganesia, Europe (Clearly a subcontinent at best), Asia (Arguably a supercontinent), Africa (Arguably a supercontinent), Antarctica
  5. Fusions:
  6. Eurasia (Clearly the real thing, probably a supercontinent), Afro-Eurasia/Afroeurasia/Eurafrasia/(The) Ecumene/(The) Old World/(The) World Island (would be a super continent, but cleary not real), (The) America(s)/(The) New World (could be a super continent, but very clearly not real), Oceana/Oceanica
  7. The Other One:
  8. Zealandia/(The) New Zealand Continent/Tasmantis ((Mostly) sunken) (Some argue it is just a microcontinent, but they are wrong)
  9. It Wishes:
  10. Greenland
  11. The Other Submerged Continent:
  12. Kerguelen (Actually a microcontinent, and not even made of continental crust)
  13. Supercontinents Of The Past:
  14. Gondwana, Laurasia, Pangaea, Pannotia, Proto-Laurasia (A version of Laurasia from before Pangaea), Rodinia, Columbia, Kenorland, Ur (the first continent), Vaalbara, Nena, Sclavia
  15. Continents That Once Were:
  16. Amazonia, Arctica/Artida, Asiamerica, Atlantica, Avalonia, Baltica, Cimmeria, Congo, Euramerica, Kalahari(a), Kazakhstania, Laurentia, North China, Siberia, South China, East Antarctica, India
  17. Super Continents Yet To Be?:
  18. Pangea Ultima, Amasia, Novopangaea
  19. Continents That Will Be:
  20. The Eastern chunk of Africa, along with the Horn, Madacascar, and possibly at least some of South Africa are splitting off to form their own continent on the Somali Plate, while the rest will remain on the African Plate, also known as the Nubian Plate (this is what the East African Rift Valley is). This will result in there being two continents where there was once one. The bigger one might still be called Africa, could become West Africa, or might become Nubia, or might get some totally different name. The smaller one will definitely need a new name, and might end up being called East Africa or Somali.
  21. Fake Continents:
  22. Atlantis, Kumari Kandam, Lemuria, Meropis, Mu, Hyperborea, Terra Australis (Incognita), Rutas, Thule
  23. Microcontinents (Zealandia Withheld):
  24. East Tasman, Jan Mayen, Madagascar, Mascarene, Mauritia, Wallaby/Cuvier, Sumba, Timor, Sulawesi, (Hatton) Rockall, Socotra, Barbados, Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, Lesser Sunda/Kepulauan Nusa Tenggara/Kepulauan Sunda Kecil, (Banggai-)Sulu, Obi, Bacan/Bachian/Batchian/Bachans/Bachians/Batchians, Buru, Seram, Ambon, Maluku/Moluccas, Caribbean, South Orkney, Gilbert, Kerguelen
  25. Subcontinents:
  26. India, Arabia, Alaska, Southern Cone (Part of South America), Greenland (Special case), Europe (of Eurasia and presumably of Afro-Eurasia), North America (of America), South America (of America), Central America (of America sometimes, presumaly also sometimes of North America)
  27.
  28. Botanical "Continents" (Used for recording plant distributions):
  29. Europe, Africa, Asia-Temperate, Asia-Tropical, Australasia, Pacific, Northern America, Southern America, Antarctica
  30.
  31. Plates:
  32. Major Plates:
  33. Pacific, North American, Eurasian, African/Nubian, Antarctic, Indo-Australian (Australian + India(n)), South American
  34. Minor Plates:
  35. Somali(an), Nazca, Philippine (Sea), Arabian, Caribbean, Cocos, Caroline (Sometimes a microplate of Pacific), Scotia, Burma, New Hebrides (Sometimes a microplate of Pacific), Juan de Fuca Plate (A bit on the smaller side) (Often not counted as a minor plate) (Sometimes a microplate of North American)
  36. Plates With Microplates:
  37. African/Nubian, Antarctic, Caribbean, Cocos, Eurasian, North American, Pacific, Philippine (Sea), South American, Molucca Sea (itself a microplate of Eurasian)
  38. Plates with Cratons:
  39. African/Nubian, Antarctica, Eurasian, Indo-Australian, North American, South American
  40.
  41. Final Takeaway: Everyone agrees that Antarctica is a continent, a real one, all on its own, not part of any others, not made up of any others, just an actual continent. This is the only one they all agree about.
  42.
  43. Continent Models:
  44. Four:
  45. Afro-Eurasia/Afroeurasia/Eurafrasia/(The) Ecumene/(The) Old World/(The) World Island, (The) America(s)/(The) New world, Antarctica, Australia/Sahul/Australinea/Meganesia
  46. Six (Version One):
  47. Africa, Europe, Asia, (The) America(s)/(The) New World, Antarctica, Australia/Sahul/Australinea/Meganesia
  48. Six (Version Two):
  49. Africa, Eurasia, North America, South America, Antarctica, Australia/Sahul/Australinea/Meganesia
  50. Five (Modified Version Of Six (Version Two), used by the United Nations and the Olympics):
  51. Africa, Eurasia, North America, South America, Australia/Sahul/Australinea/Meganesia
  52. Seven:
  53. Africa, Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Antarctica, Australia/Sahul/Australinea/Meganesia
  54.
  55. Correct:
  56. Africa, Eurasia, North America, South America, Antarctica, Australia/Sahul/Australinea/Meganesia, Zealandia/(The) New Zealand Continent/Tasmantis
  57.
  58. Post Script: Damn it United Nations and Olympics! Now there is no continent that EVERYONE agrees about!
