- Swallowing your saliva, you stand at the altar smiling. A few moments ago, you had walked down the aisle, and the rest of the wedding party were now making their way into the chapel. You wore a cool exterior, but deep down your nerves were shot. Behind you stood your groomsmen, consisting of your group of friends who had made their way out for your special day. It seemed like just yesterday you were telling them about it on that cold winter's morning, you thought. Snapping back to reality, you look across from yourself and see the bridesmaids. Your friends from the Literature Club, and then the Book Club, stood beside the altar awaiting the bride. Monika sported an emerald green dress, Sayori one of cobalt blue, and Yuri with a deep lavender. Behind the altar was a man of short stature, sporting a priestly robe as well as a beard and glasses; your officiant. Something about him seemed... right. In fact, everything seemed right! Your friends and family had gathered to witness the holiest of bonds, and soon enough you would be married to the girl of your dreams. It was so good, in fact, it felt like a dream. You were wondering when you would wake up when it happened.
- The doors opened at the entrance to the hall, and there she stood. Dressed in a gorgeous white dress with veil and a train that trailed behind her, your fiancee Natsuki began her trek down the aisle. You smiled at her, nearly ear to ear, and she flashed a small smile back. Your heart skipped a beat; this is really happening. Getting closer, you found yourself lost in her beauty. Her small frame, her precious hair, that cute face, the dress, the bouquet, everything. Making her way to the other side of the altar, she handed her bouquet back to Monika for the time being and turned to face you. The officiant began the words of welcome, moving directly into his opening remarks. Talking of the act of unity that would take place, and recounting the story of you two to the audience, the short man made sure not a single eye was dry in the audience at the tale of love. And soon enough, your own eyes were watering as he introduced a poem. You recognized it instantly, and you knew that the pink one opposite you had something to do with it. The first poem she had written for you. The one you had framed on your nightstand, that made your heart flutter whenever you read it. Because You. Son of a bitch, directly to the heartstrings. As he read it off, you held it together and managed to not become a faucet of tears of joy while your partner did the same, though you could tell she was close to breaking as well.
- After the heartfelt poem, the readings were concluded and thus, the vows began. You took her hand in yours, and cleared your throat before beginning. Yours were of the traditional sort with a few extra thrown in, vowing to protect and love her for all of eternity. With that, you slipped the ring onto her finger; rose-gold, with a simple diamond and etching. She recited her vows to you, and hers were similar, adding in a few too. To help you wash away any of your worries, to explore creativity and imagination with you. Following this, she took your hand in hers, and slipped on your band; one with a matching etching, but made of white gold. That done, and with a look into each other's eyes, the two of you turned to the officiant. The squat man smiled, and spoke up.
- "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."
- You took no time in obliging. Turning back to your pink-haired doki, you leaned in, lifted her veil, and gave her your first kiss as a married couple. The sparks flew, just as they did several years prior when you had your first kiss; just as they did every time you kissed, as a matter of fact. True love. To the cheering of the crowd and the swelling of music, you bask in the kiss before pulling away. In her eyes, you can see the sparks that you felt, and you know she feels the same. A great warmth fills your heart, and you take her hands in yours once more as the manlet speaks up once more, giving his closing words and wishing everyone a blessed life. With that, she took her bouquet back from Monika, you took her arm in yours, and the two of you walked down the aisle, the rest of the wedding party following suit afterwards. Once outside, you notice an opportunity. Your wedding car, a vintage, cherry red convertible, awaits to take you to the reception, and there's quite a bit of walk to it. Looking down towards Natsuki, you seize the moment and lift her up. You'd always wanted to do this, and judging by the reaction of joy she gives after the initial surprise, you figured she'd always wanted it done, too. Princess carrying her to the vehicle and helping her inside, you take your own seat beside her and wave to the crowd together as your chauffeur pulls off.
- Arriving at the reception, everything appears to be in order. You and your now wife had decided on this place together; a park near your home. Frequently, your dates would end up here, whether it be walking through it as the main course or just an afterthought. In the cool spring breeze, it was the perfect place for a party, and the company you hired to set it up had done an excellent job. Decorated to the nines, tables and chairs were set up in rows with tasteful streamers and balloons. They'd even managed to bring out some sort of portable dance-floor, as well as a small stage behind it which would hold the band. On one of the tables, you noticed something. Alongside all the food and drink, there was something massive, of which you're sure your wife had no small part in. Your wedding cake towered, off-white icing with lace pink trim coloring it. It was massive in size, with a simple look save for the custom toppers of yourselves in chibi form. You make a mental note to be sure to save those, and look at her astounded.
- "Honey? How did you bake all that so fast?" You ask, recalling that she wanted to be involved in the process but only actually started working on it a couple of days ago, and that was between all the other preparations.
- "Are you doubting the best baker in the world? I could bake that in an afternoon!" She laughed. "Nah, the baking company had huge ovens. Made it really easy to make the multiple sections at once, and they helped out a bit." Leaning towards you, she whispered. "I knew I couldn't let them make it alone, wouldn't taste nearly as good as anything I make."
- "Got that right." The two of you share a laugh, and sit down to talk for a short time while the guests arrive.
- The party goes on without a hitch. It starts off with the classic; taking photos with any guests who want one. Your family, your friends, the Literature Club, everybody. Then, one person remains who wants one. A lanky man, with dull hair. He's disheveled, and you know his look of regret and sadness all too well. Her father. You lean towards her and whisper.
- "Do you want him here, Nat? I'm sure I could get the guys to get him out, if you wanted." She heaves a heavy sigh, then looks toward him determined.
- "You get one picture, but then you have to leave." She states plainly, a determined glint in her eye.
- "... Okay." The man responds, with that same sad visage. He gets on her side, and you give your best crocodile smile. You wish to slug this man, but since she deemed it fit and you don't want to ruin this perfect day, you hold yourself at bay. Afterwards, she talks to him for a moment, telling him that the photo will get delivered, and he takes his leave. Turning back to you, you speak up.
- "Do you want to talk about it?"
- "Hell no. Last thing I want to talk about right now is that bastard. He doesn't deserve to be the one to see me here." She says, a frown overtaking her face as she looks down.
- "Hey. She's here, too. I can feel it. Now," You say, taking your hand and lifting her chin so that your gazes meet. "Let's go taste that cake, yeah?" Her frown turns to a small smile, as she closes her eyes and enjoys your touch.
- "Sounds good." The two of you make your way over to the dessert, and after gathering everyone around, you cut into the cake together. Setting aside a slice for yourselves, you hacked and sliced into the behemoth, but even after everybody had gotten some pieces remained. So this was the power of your cupcake's baking.
- After the guests had their fill of food and cake, it was time to truly party. To kick it off, the two of you got on stage in front of the band and announced that you'd be taking your first dance in a moment, after one last thing. Natsuki playfully held up the bouquet that she had held close for the pictures and the ceremony, and shook it.
- "You know ya want to catch it, ladies!" She said through the microphone. The women in the party sifted to the front of the crowd, and with that, Natsuki turned around and chucked it backwards. You kept your eyes on it as it arced through the air, before a pair of hands reaching slightly higher than the rest caught it. Those hands were in fact connected to none other than Yuri, who looked at her prize with awe before realizing the implications of it and clutching it close and chattering with the women around her. Natsuki turned around, and seeing this, chuckled, before turning to you.
- "Whoever the lucky guy is is gonna be happy. Now that that's taken care of, let's go!" She nearly shouts, grabbing your hand and starting to drag you to the dance floor. Taking the center, you and Natsu get close and embrace as the band begins a slow, melodic tune. It feels as if a spotlight is on you, and it practically is given the attention. This special day is for the bonding souls, for everlasting love. For the happiness you bring to each other's hearts. The joy that you get waking up next to her, or going to sleep beside her. The sparks you feel from big things such as date nights or the small things such as her smile. The warmth you fill each other's hearts with. The happiness that the thought of spending the rest of your lives together brings. This day is for the two of you.
- With that thought, you wrap your arms around her, and begin to dance.
