  188. [4:12 PM] Tah Joseph Renaud Nemlin: @CounselorNatalie  please I wish that you informe me about process
  189. [4:12 PM] Student Mallory: @SofiaCernaGuest Awesome! So you would be in the college of arts and sciences and there are a few different ways you can pursue honors.  If you enter the honors program as a freshmen (invitations are sent out with acceptance letters), you will have the choice to take smaller (20 persons or so) honors seminars, which fulfill graduation requirements. If you complete 8 of those courses you can graduate with honors without writing a thesis.  Your other option is to write a thesis (I am writing mine now and love it).  If you are in the honors college you can write a general thesis your senior year, otherwise you apply to write your thesis through your major.  ... As far as capstone courses go, your capstone courses (also called senior seminars) are usually a final requirement for your major.  If you write a thesis through your department then you will take a specific senior thesis capstone course with the other students in the department.  Does that help?  Sorry its a lot of information but really the honors program is fantastic.

  206. [4:13 PM] Lucas Shelton: Does the aerospace engineering department and or the biomedical engineering department offer departmental scholarships?
  207. [4:13 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @CoreyStricklerGuest It depends! We have a pretty flexible curriculum and elective and general education requirements, so you can take 2-3 semesters even before you declare.
  208. [4:13 PM] Nicholas Curl: @StudentGrace what is student life like?
  209. [4:13 PM] Student Grace: @VictoriaGugliettaGuest Hi Victoria! An advertising major would be under the college of media, communication and design. It is a great program! If you would like some more information , here is the link to their website!
  210. [4:13 PM] Hunter Hoover-Watson: @CounselorZeni I know Boulder is solid! Just thought I might get a better hint!
  211. [4:13 PM] Jackson Helmerich: @CounselorLindsay  What is the benefit of applying with early action instead of the regular deadline?
  212. [4:13 PM] Sofia Cerna: @StudentMallory Yes, that helps! Thank you! :)
  213. [4:14 PM] Charles Mahla: Is Entrepreneurial studies a minor at CU Boulder?
  214. [4:14 PM] Counselor Natalie: @ClarkHouGuest , sometimes AP transfer credit can help fulfill a college class requirement, but that decision is made by your academic advisor on campus. Take a look at the physics department website to get an idea of the curriculum: https://catalog.colorado.edu/undergraduate/colleges-schools/arts-sciences/programs-study/physics/phy...
  215. [4:14 PM] Student Jordan: @MollyMahoneyGuest There are a number of outdoors clubs, student groups, and residence halls that organize everything from short hikes to weekend trips! @ZacharyGennGuest @DiegoChiricoGuest it's phenomenal and a number of students do go out to the mountains regularly when they have some freetime in the winter!
  216. [4:14 PM] Emma Ziari: Is there a book club? I'm quite the book worm and would love to talk about the books I read with others. And if there isn't one, how hard is it to create a club at CU?
  217. [4:14 PM] Rebekah Barnett: Are there any opportunities for a student to receive a full scholarship?
  218. [4:14 PM] Counselor Zeni: @EmmaZiariGuest Yes, we typically will accept credits from Dual enrollment. Please be sure to have your official transcripts sent from the college.
  219. [4:14 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @DiegoChiricoGuest about 50% of our students enjoy skiing and snowboarding, so there's a lot to do in CO in the winter months. We have sunshine pretty much every day so you can choose how to spend your time outdoors..
  220. [4:14 PM] Tyler Lee: Do you take AP credits obtained in high school, and if so, what's the minimum score required in order to get the credit for that class?
  221. [4:14 PM] William Allen: Does Bruno Mars is gay?
  222. [4:14 PM] Counselor Felicia: @RyanAndrewPeironaGuest Hi Ryan, there are multiple things we look for in the application process. We do holistic review, so we look at everything you send us. We will consider the letter of recommendation and two essays as well as your grades, test scores and what kinds of classes you have taken. We do value AP and IB courses, as well as a commitment to being well-rounded and getting involved in various extracurriculars!
  223. [4:14 PM] Neha Kollikara: With an international relations major would you suggest a minor in a language or business
  224. [4:14 PM] Counselor Brad: @AlexandraZerbeGuest Our Pre-Health advisors will work with you to determine the best program to make you the most eligible candidate possible for being admitted to a medical school. Including the pre-requisites necessary, and anything else that may be required for admission.
  225. [4:14 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @ErinBiaforeGuest We do not required a portfolio for admissions, but you might want one in your sophomore year for entry into our BFA, for example.
  226. [4:14 PM] Student Grace: http://www.colorado.edu/cmci/academics
  227. [4:14 PM] Nicholas Curl: @CounselorLindsay I am taking Multi-Variable Calculus currently, would this place me out of any courses?
  228. [4:14 PM] Tanner Erdem: @StudentJordan Do you know if those trips are financially covered or if we fundraise / pay for them ourselves?
  229. [4:14 PM] Counselor Natalie: @TahJosephRenaudNemlinGuest Welcome! You can find information on the application process for international students here:http://www.colorado.edu/admissions/international
  230. [4:14 PM] Courtney Faurot: How are you admitted into the business school? Is there direct admission? Or a different admissions process?
  231. [4:14 PM] Counselor Zeni: @EmmaZiariGuest There are many clubs and reading is very popular in college. Yes, you can make your own club pretty easily.
  232. [4:15 PM] Hunter Hoover-Watson: @TannerErdemGuest Where do you live? I'm in Florida.
  233. [4:15 PM] Nicholas Curl: @StudentMallory what is student life like?
  234. [4:15 PM] Alexandra Zerbe: thank you for that link.  If I went in undeclared and got hooked up with the pre-health advisory, they could assist me along the way and then I could make a better decision about a major.  I just don't want to ruin my chances for admission if I pick "undeclared."
  235. [4:15 PM] Rachel Eisenhauer: Do you allow undergraduates to double major? Would a double major in biology and business be possible?
  236. [4:15 PM] Tanner Erdem: @HunterHooverWatsonGuest California. Finding a place to board in Florida sounds tough
  237. [4:15 PM] Meagan Skolnick: Does it look bad to apply undecided?
  238. [4:15 PM] Student Mallory: http://www.colorado.edu/honors/admission#admitted_first_year_students-102 Here is the info about the Arts & Science honors college.  "There is no application process for our program. The Office of Admissions automatically evaluates and invites qualified first-year fall students who have been admitted into the College of Arts and Sciences. Generally, students in the top 10% of the incoming class receive an invitation. Invitations are issued in a student's printed admission packet"
  239. [4:15 PM] Olivia Testa: Do I apply to the university in general or do i have to apply to a specific school?
  240. [4:15 PM] Counselor Molly: @NathalieBenshmuelGuest That's definitely possible! The curriculum in Arts & Sciences is pretty flexible, so many of our students pursue multiple majors and minors. We don't have a photography minor, but you can focus on photography through a minor in art practices!
  241. [4:15 PM] Connor: how competitive is computer science, what should my test scores and gpa be like
  242. [4:15 PM] Sofia Osuna: Is majoring across schools a possibility?
  243. [4:15 PM] Vanessa Flores: Hi! I am interested in Dentistry. Is there any sciences like anatomy or biology I could major? Thanks!
  244. [4:15 PM] Emma Olson: Is selecting a major in the application better than applying undeclared?
  245. [4:15 PM] Student Grace: @NicholasCurlGuest Hi Nicholas! There are so many things to get involved in on campus! We have over 400 clubs, so student life looks a little different for everyone. Is there anything specific you want to know about?
  246. [4:16 PM] Daniel Fiorillo: @CounselorFelicia Does Environmental Design include any Industrial Design courses?
  247. [4:16 PM] Tabitha Ladendorf: what is the least competitive major?
  248. [4:16 PM] Roxana Pezeshki: What happens if you apply for the business school and don't get it, will you still be able to major in that?

  250. [4:16 PM] Sydney Auerbach: Do you have a Deaf Studies major?
  251. [4:16 PM] Clark Hou: @CounselorNatalie How phenomenal is the physics department?
  252. [4:16 PM] Kalissa Azooz: Is Environmental Studies a popular major?
  253. [4:16 PM] Hunter Hoover-Watson: @TannerErdemGuest We manage with boards on water
  254. [4:16 PM] Carlin Shannon: How competitive is the engineering school in general, and especially aerospace?
  255. [4:16 PM] Vanessa Flores: do you guys also have some type of dental class or radiology classes as well?
  256. [4:16 PM] Student Jordan: @TannerErdemGuest It depends on the club for the most part and the length of the trip as well as what equipment is needed. The Outdoors Program at the Student recreation center also offers very affordable gear rentals for everything from camping to kayaking!
  257. [4:16 PM] Michael John Wholihan: I am not able to visit from Boston, will that be a negative on my application?
  258. [4:16 PM] Counselor Zeni: @AlexandraZerbeGuest Choosing Open Option will not hurt your chances for admission. We have that major so you can have the time to explore and find the right major for you.
  259. [4:16 PM] Nicholas Curl: @CounselorBrad I am currently taking Multi-Variable Calculus this year, it is not an AP course, but would this place me out of any calculus courses?
  260. [4:16 PM] Alexis Rodia: If you apply RD do you consider 1st term grades of senior year?
  261. [4:16 PM] Lucas Shelton: Does your engineering department have its own scholarships?
  262. [4:16 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @AmarisBurrellGuest yes-you can transfer at any point and we will use both your high school and college work until you've completed one year of college.
  263. [4:16 PM] Nakul Singh: What would be the computer science related degrees you can offer ? Also what would the scholarship offers be?
  264. [4:16 PM] Lydia Lococo: I am interested in the college of arts and science and majoring in dance. I would like to know if dance is a popular major.
  265. [4:17 PM] Rebekah Barnett: What is the most highly competitive department or major?
  266. [4:17 PM] Tanner Erdem: @StudentJordan Good to hear, thanks for the response!
  267. [4:17 PM] Counselor Brad: @WilliamAllenGuest Students here have serious questions. If you believe your antics are funny, please look elsewhere.
  268. [4:17 PM] Counselor Molly: @NicholasCurlGuest Unless your multi-variable class is through a local college or university, most likely you will not get credit for it at CU Boulder
  269. [4:17 PM] Clark Hou: Hows the music department?
  270. [4:17 PM] Counselor Felicia: @MollyMahoneyGuest If you participate in a CU Boulder study abroad program and are a CU Boulder degree-seeking student, you may use any federal, state, or institutional aid you would normally be awarded, with the exception of work-study. We do not provide financial aid for study abroad programs not offered through the CU Boulder Study Abroad Office (i.e., those sponsored by other organizations, colleges, or educational institutions). Nor do we provide funding for direct enrollment in a foreign university, even if CU Boulder accepts your courses as transfer credits. There may, however, be alternate resources available to help you fund these programs.
  271. [4:17 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @AlexisRodiaGuest we will use the most recent academic work for admissions, so if those grades are available, yes!
  272. [4:17 PM] Counselor Natalie: @ClarkHouGuest Laboratories and institutes associated with the department include the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics (JILA), the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP), the Laboratory for Nuclear Physics, the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES), Biofrontiers, Materials Science and Engineering, and the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI).
  273. [4:17 PM] Student Mallory: @NicholasCurlGuest Hi!  Student life here at CU really is fantastic.  There are so many different choices for what you want to do, so you will never run out of options.  The university puts on movie nights and events on campus if you are interested in those, however, my favorite thing to do at CU is to go up skiing or climbing and really enjoying the perks of living in a place as amazing as Boulder!
  274. [4:17 PM] chloe arlapen: What are you looking for in the application of international student?

  285. [4:17 PM] Xochitl Lozano: Since the Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences undergrad is new, can you tell me a couple things about the program?
  286. [4:18 PM] Jackson Helmerich: What is the advantage of early action?
  287. [4:18 PM] Jackson Helmerich: What is the advantage of early action?

  295. [4:18 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @DiegoChiricoGuest we provide the Eco Pass to all students, so Denver RTD is free. It's also a very walkable community, so getting around is pretty easy without a car (but any student can choose to purchase a campus permit).
  296. [4:18 PM] Victoria Guglietta: When is your early action deadline?
  297. [4:18 PM] Counselor Molly: @LilyByrnesGuest We have Residential Academic Programs (RAPs) where students live with other students who have a similar academic interest to them! They are really cool programs, check them out on our housing website: https://living.colorado.edu/

  319. [4:19 PM] Sydney Conrad: @EmmaZiariGuest Yes, or multiple semesters. I really want to travel and see the world before I potentially get tied down with a job and schooling.
  320. [4:19 PM] Counselor Natalie: @MeaganSkolnickGuest No, in fact, Open Option is the most popular major for CU's freshman students!
  321. [4:19 PM] Madlynn Bard: Hi! I am applying to the theatre/musical theatre program at CU Boulder, and I'm also interested in pursuing a degree in Sociology.  Is the musical theatre program flexible enough for me to do so, and if it is what kinds of additional measures would I have to take to graduate within two years (summer courses, etc.)?
  322. [4:19 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @CharlesMahlaGuest We do have a business minor that any student can pursue, as well as several certificates: http://www.colorado.edu/business/academic-programs/minor-business

Check out our student org directory for more details! http://buffconnectdirectory.orgsync.com/
  332. [4:20 PM] Counselor Natalie: @ClarkHouGuest I encourage you to email the College of Music directly to hear as much detail as you'd like about their programs. The direct contact is Veronica.Greuel@colorado.edu. Our marching band is great, and consists mostly of non-Music majors! :)
  333. [4:20 PM] Kimberly Roper: I've heard the comp sci program has so many students it is difficult to get into classes and graduate in 4 years. True and how will CU address this?
  334. [4:20 PM] Counselor Brad: @EmmaZiariGuest Hi Emma! There are over 400+ student organizations! You may want to visit http://www.colorado.edu/involvement/organizations to see if anything already exists that strikes your interest. If not, you can certainly create a club on campus! We even have a Squirrel Feeding Club!
  335. [4:20 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @BenjaminSchildkrautGuest2 we do not, but we have two deadlines (11/15 and 1/15/18), so if you apply by the earlier deadline (non-binding), you will receive a status update sooner.

  337. [4:20 PM] Diego Chirico: What's the dorm situation like? Is it two per room or a residence with many rooms?

  351. [4:21 PM] Counselor Brad: @AlexandraZerbeGuest Often you do not need to declare a major until Junior year, however, you should discuss with your advisors any required timelines.
  352. [4:21 PM] Student Mallory: @ClaireWernickGuest Every teacher I have ever met has been incredibly accommodating.  At CU you would most likely make an appointment with disability services and they provide you with a letter for you to give to your professors. http://www.colorado.edu/disabilityservices/
  353. [4:21 PM] Atharv Dangore: I am applying to aerospace engineering. Does the freshman year have classes related to it?
  354. [4:22 PM] Student Jordan: @IsabellaBowlingGuest I am currently a double major with a certificate in the school of Arts and Sciences. As long as you work with your academic advisor the workload is very manageable, I am actually on track to graduate a semester early!
  355. [4:22 PM] Lily Byrnes: For students that are not in the state of Colorado, are there extra opportunities facilitated by the university to help make Colorado a home? Do out of states often feel homesick?

[4:22 PM] Counselor Zeni: @ClaireWernickGuest here is a link to the Disability Services office http://www.colorado.edu/disabilityservices/ please feel free to reach out to them with any specific questions and they can you with the required documentation needed for college. Professors are helpful and have office hours, you must self advocate to take advantage of the opportunities.
  357. [4:22 PM] Lucas Shelton: @MeganGoldammerGuest I would think that would round up to a 4.0. However if say it was like a 3.86 it wouldnt round but considering how close it is I would believe so.
  358. [4:22 PM] Counselor Molly: @NehaKollikaraGuest When you apply, you'll only be able to select one major and then can work with your academic advisor to add a minor when you get to campus.
  359. [4:22 PM] Greg Born: hi
  360. [4:22 PM] William Allen: Hi!
  361. [4:22 PM] Counselor Zeni: @AlexandraZerbeGuest  typically you will want to declare by Soph year
  362. [4:22 PM] Sofia Cerna: Can you submit more than 1 letter of recommendation (not including a teacher rec)? If so, would you suggest it?
  363. [4:22 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @ClarkHouGuest we have a great conservatory on campus through the College of Music! You must submit an additional application to their college and pass an audition to be admitted, and you can learn more about their program here: http://www.colorado.edu/music/. The Golden Buffalo marching band is also a great group to explore!
  364. [4:22 PM] Vanessa Flores: @CounselorMolly Hi! I want to apply as a dentist. Are there any science majors that I could take as a Freshman?
  365. [4:22 PM] Lucas Shelton: Hey

  384. [https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.hipchat.com/444305/5264155/IlaBETNuroU6CGQ/IMG_1770.JPG]
  385. [4:23 PM] Counselor Brad: @AlexandraZerbeGuest Not necessarily. We recommend your recommendations are quality over quanitity.
  386. [4:23 PM] Una Stevic: I am interested in Genetics, is there any major that covers this field? I am international student, and also a volleyball player, so I would like to balance academics and athletics. What is the admission process for international athletes? @CounselorFelicia
  387. [4:23 PM] Counselor Zeni: @AlexandraZerbeGuest Not necessarily, we only ask for one letter so that is all you need.
  388. [4:23 PM] Emma Ziari: @SydneyConradGuest I feel you! but that's totally awesome! I am just volunteering in Nicaragua for a semester. I don't want the counselors and students to get overwhelmed with questions so I looked on the website. You can defer up to a year if you email apply@colorado.edu after you get accepted. Glad we are in the same boat:)
  389. [4:23 PM] Tanner Erdem: If I wanted to find the average courseload for say, a business major, where would that be located on your site?
  390. [4:23 PM] Sydney Conrad: I want to travel to help others (people, animals, environment).... Are there any steps I could take at CU Boulder to do so?
  391. [4:24 PM] Lucas Shelton: @SofiaCernaGuest @BrandonBandakGuest For those asking question about applying they require you to complete the Common App for incoming freshman that includes a essay and teacher recommendation as well as a counselor recommendation.
  392. [4:24 PM] Counselor Felicia: @JuliaPopeGuest Julia, generally students in the top 10% of our applicants are offered a spot in our Honors programs!
  393. [4:24 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @ClaireWernickGuest you can meet with Disabilities and student services to ensure that any accommodations are in place for you. You can learn more about their office here: http://www.colorado.edu/disabilityservices/
  394. [4:24 PM] Neha Kollikara: What are your thoughts on double minoring?
  395. [4:24 PM] Clark Hou: @CounselorLindsay when does this additional application need to be submitted?
  396. [4:24 PM] Nakul Singh: @CounselorBrad What would be the computer science related degrees you can offer ? Also what would the scholarship offers be? I would go for an undergraduate degree. How much is your employment rate.
  397. [4:24 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @AlexandraZerbeGuest We only require one letters, so while you can submit more, that is not necessary.
  398. [4:24 PM] Benjamin Schildkraut: What is the drop out rate for the engineering department
  399. [4:24 PM] katie rodriguez: do you move in earlier if you are rushing?
  400. [4:24 PM] Tyler Lee: Do you take AP credits obtained in high school, and if so, what's the minimum score required in order to get the credit for that class?
  401. [4:24 PM] Counselor Molly: @LucasSheltonGuest There are several engineering-specific scholarships available through the CU Boulder Scholarship Application!
  402. [4:24 PM] Connor: is it true that computer science is so full that students cant get in classes and graduate in just 4 years?
  403. [4:24 PM] Randyll Tarly: Will a 1570 SAT get me merit? I'm out of state
  404. [4:24 PM] Charles Shambelan: What do you feel differentiates your academic program from other universities?
  405. [4:24 PM] Sydney Conrad: @EmmaZiariGuest You should just be a counselor! Haha, do you know if scholarships still apply?
  406. [4:24 PM] jacob agona: dose an iep hold any weight at a collage or is any form of reciprocity available.
  407. [4:24 PM] Sofia Osuna: Can you double major between schools, or do you have to get both at the same? Or major and have a minor in a different school?
  408. [4:25 PM] Emma Olson: What is the process like for double majoring?
  409. [4:25 PM] Rebekah Barnett: Do you include grades from 9th grade when calculating the GPA? I know that some colleges only require grades from 10th grade and up.
  410. [4:25 PM] Simon Jeacock: What is the acceptance rate for early action? I read 92%, is that correct?
  411. [4:25 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @ClarkHouGuest 11/15 is the first deadline, but you can see all of the details here: http://www.colorado.edu/music/admissions/prospective-undergraduates#deadlines
  412. [4:25 PM] Madlynn Bard: Are there any application fee waivers available to students applying to certain programs, such as the honors college, or who have visited campus?
  413. [4:25 PM] Counselor Zeni: @HunterHooverWatsonGuest yes, I believe we do for most placements- You can touch base with New Student Welcome Programs for specific questions on testing for enrollment
  414. [4:25 PM] Student Grace: @KaitlandschaperGuest Hi Kaitland! Time management is defiantly important in college! As someone who has a job, is a part of two student organizations, and takes their studies seriously I can defiantly attest to that! I think it is important to keep up with your school work, while starting assignments ahead of time. That being said, you have a lot more free time in college! Although the course tends to be more difficult, you are only in class for 15 hours a week (students may take 12-19 credit hours. Let me know if you have any other questions
  415. [4:25 PM] Counselor Brad: @ClaireWernickGuest You'll want to visit: http://www.colorado.edu/disabilityservices/students. There they outline resources available. I recommend discussing with them your current situation, as the advocacy and requirement are different from high school and college.
  416. [4:25 PM] Charles Mahla: @StudentGrace What is your major? I am interested in Business and Entrepreneurship, so I would love to get into the Leeds Business School and possibly minor in entrepreneurship. And as far as your minor in business goes, do you focus on entrepreneurship?
  417. [4:25 PM] Nicholas Curl: @CounselorMolly what is the computer engineering department like?  Is it project based?
  418. [4:25 PM] Counselor Molly: @KaitlandschaperGuest You have quite a bit of flexibility in scheduling your classes - you can take them all in a row, or spread them out. You get to pick what your schedule looks like!
  419. [4:25 PM] Randyll Tarly: definitely*
  420. [4:25 PM] Max Kuhlman: Is there a petroleum engineer program at Boulder?
  421. [4:25 PM] Student Jordan: @katierodriguezGuest No, our rush process begins after new student move in!
  422. [4:25 PM] Suhaib Shahab: How much does CU Boulder typically give for financial aid?
  423. [4:25 PM] Tabitha Ladendorf: @CounselorZeni What is the least competitive major?
  424. [4:26 PM] Eliza Stuart: What are the scores needed for IB class credit?
  425. [4:26 PM] Jorge: On the website it says the middle 50% highschool GPA for admitted students in the college of engineering is a 3.7 to 4.0.  Is that on the 4.0 scale or is that a weighted GPA?
  426. [4:26 PM] Tabitha Ladendorf: @CounselorMolly How do I set up an interview with admissions?
  427. [4:26 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @BenjaminSchildkrautGuest2 that is a good question, and I am not sure! Let me get you their contact information and I would reach out to them specifically to get more details: http://www.colorado.edu/engineering/academics (at the bottowm)
  428. [4:26 PM] Sofia Cerna: Is it difficult to enroll in the classes you want? Do they fill up fast?
  429. [4:26 PM] Counselor Felicia: @mattbrockelmanGuest Hi Matt yes I remember you- hi! While you are more than welcome to double major, we do not offer an Agriculture degree at CU Boulder specifically.
  430. [4:26 PM] katie rodriguez: what major would recommend if I want to go into the peace corp
  431. [4:26 PM] Jenna Gevertz: Does applying with an Undecided major make it any less likely that you will get in?
  432. [4:26 PM] Lucas Shelton: @CounselorMolly Thank you but that page on the website does not tell me anything unless I apply for the scholarship which I believe I cannot do until I am accepted. Would any of those scholarships cover an out of state tuition?
  433. [4:26 PM] Daniel Fiorillo: Does the ED program include ID?
  434. [4:26 PM] jacob agona: do AP credits from high school carry over?
  435. [4:26 PM] Ethnica Mohanty: I want to apply to CU Boulder for aerospace engineering and computer science? I got a 1240 on my sat. What are my chances?
  436. [4:26 PM] Counselor Molly: @OliviaTestaGuest Housing is only guaranteed for your first year, but housing is typically able to accommodate requests from upperclassmen who want to stay on campus as well!
  437. [4:27 PM] Clark Hou: What's the best area of physics in CU Boulder?
  438. [4:27 PM] Counselor Brad: @ErinBiaforeGuest Hi Erin - One of the greatest advantages allows you to make a decision. Students applying by Early Decision will hear by February 1, whereas student's applying for the Regular Decision deadline may not hear until April 1.

  443. [4:27 PM] Benjamin Schildkraut: What is the best place to dorm as a freshman
  444. [4:27 PM] Counselor Felicia: @AdjoaNyamekyeGuest Adjoa, we have students from all 50 states at CU!
  445. [4:27 PM] Counselor Molly: @NicholasCurlGuest Engineering is very project-based at CU Boulder! From your first semester, you'll be working with community partners to get some hands-on learning solving real problems for their organization
  446. [4:27 PM] Student Grace: @CharlesMahlaGuest I am a communication major with a minor in business. The business minor consists of 4 class. The first two are Marketing/Management and Accounting/Finance. The third class is where you pick a "track" or "emphasis", this is where I choose Entrepreneurial studies, the last class is like a senior seminar where you bring everything you learn together!
  447. [4:27 PM] Lucas Shelton: @katierodriguezGuest good question wondering that too
  448. [4:27 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @EmmaOlsonGuest You enter with one major, and when you get to campus and start to work with your Academic Advisor, you can add your additional majors/minors.
  449. [4:27 PM] Roxana Pezeshki: If you apply for a particular school and are below the average scores, will your essay come in to play or will you be automatically declined?
  450. [4:27 PM] Student Mallory: @SofiaCernaGuest Hi!I have been at CU for 3 years now and I have never had any issues getting the classes I want.  When you enroll for classes you will have an enrollment window (ex- 8AM on Thursday).  As long as you are on your computer at 8 am registering for classes you should be fine as they reserve a certain number of seats for each enrollment window.  Does that help?
  451. [4:27 PM] Yajnish: Hi 😄 How many students are there per engineering class?
  452. [4:28 PM] Counselor Zeni: @TabithaLadendorfGuest admission to CU Boulder is competitive, there isn't necessarily a least competitive program or easy to gain admission into. You should always apply to the program you are most interested in.
  453. [4:28 PM] Hunter Hoover-Watson: @CounselorZeni thank you! What do you think is a good freshman balance of subject and what is your favorite freshman course?
  454. [4:28 PM] William Allen: liek twenniwan

  460. [4:28 PM] Randyll Tarly: Max there'es one at school of mines
  461. [4:28 PM] Lucas Shelton: @MadlynnBardGuest They except a 4 or above
  462. [4:28 PM] Reality Mitchell: How good is medical program?
  463. [4:28 PM] Counselor Felicia: @KaitlandschaperGuest Hi Kaitland, we ask that you take either the ACT or the SAT. You may submit multiple scores to us and we will superscore them.
  464. [4:28 PM] Ethnica Mohanty: How likely am i going to make it to CU Boulder college of engineering with a 1240 on my sat?
  465. [4:28 PM] Student Jordan: @TylerLeeGuest and @MadlynnBardGuest typically a 4 or 5
  466. [4:28 PM] Max Kuhlman: I know that just not sure If boulder had one
  467. [4:28 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @DanielFiorilloGuest we do not have Early Decision, just Early Action (non-binding). Can you explain what you mean by ID?
  468. [4:28 PM] Charles Mahla: @StudentGrace Awesome! Thanks so much!
  469. [4:28 PM] Counselor Molly: @MeaganSkolnickGuest Not at all! Open option is actually the most popular major for incoming first year students.
  470. [4:28 PM] Student Mallory: @jacobagonaGuest It is based on the teacher.  They typically hold 2-3 office hours each week.
  471. [4:28 PM] Kimberly Roper: Do they cap the number of students admitted into impacted majors like computer science?
  472. [4:29 PM] Adjoa Nyamekye: What are the preferred ACT/SAT requirements that increase your chances into CU:Boulder?

  475. [4:29 PM] Pallavi Kolli: if you go as a freshmen with an undecided major , is it hard to change majors later on ?
  476. [4:29 PM] Student Grace: @jacobagonaGuest Every professor sets their own office hours. If you cannot make those hours, you can make an appointment with them!
  477. [4:29 PM] Atharv Dangore: I am applying to aerospace engineering. Does the freshman year have classes related to it?
  478. [4:29 PM] Madlynn Bard: @LucasSheltonGuest @StudentJordan Thank you!
  479. [4:29 PM] Simon Jeacock: What makes you decline an application?
  480. [4:29 PM] Kaitland schaper: @CounselorFelicia I meant the placement tests once you are accepted to determine your course level
  481. [4:29 PM] Emma Olson: Is it better to chose a major then to leave it undeclared when applying?
  482. [4:29 PM] Max Kuhlman: See you in December! Sko Buffs!
  483. [4:29 PM] Daniel Fiorillo: @CounselorLindsay ID- Industrial Design
  484. [4:29 PM] Counselor Zeni: @JenWrileyGuest there are many majors- I would say the most popular is the one which interests you most- here is a link to find just the right one http://www.colorado.edu/academics/programs

  497. [4:30 PM] Emma Ziari: @SydneyConradGuest That sounds fun, but these guys know way more than I do... Anyway, as far as scholarships, it's different based on where you are looking I think. FAFSA is by year and can never be deferred. In fact, even people who aren't deferring have to redo their FAFSA application every year just because scholarship money changes every year. As far as school specific goes, I think that you can defer enrollment up to a year but scholarships are things awarded before right you attend. Someone correct me if I am wrong! But I think that is how it goes...
  498. [4:30 PM] Tabitha Ladendorf: @CounselorRyan How do I set up an interview tih admissions?
  499. [4:30 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @AdjoaNyamekyeGuest You can see the Middle 50% for scores and grades here (http://www.colorado.edu/admissions/selection), but this is not a requirement. We conduct a holistic review of all applications.

  512. [4:31 PM] Madlynn Bard: I am applying to the theatre/musical theatre program at CU Boulder, and I'm also interested in pursuing a degree in Sociology.  Is the musical theatre program flexible enough for me to do so, and if it is what kinds of additional measures would I have to take to graduate within two years (summer courses, etc.)?
  513. [4:31 PM] Student Mallory: @VanessaFloresGuest Hi! It really just depends on the course.  Typically they say that you will spend 3 hours on homework for each hour of class, however, I really only have that much work when it is exam time.

  530. [4:32 PM] Counselor Molly: @NehaKollikaraGuest  Double minoring is very possible at CU Boulder and a lot of our students choose to do so! What minors are you interested in?
  531. [4:32 PM] Pallavi Kolli: Is there a robotics major offered for undergraduate students at CU?
  532. [4:32 PM] Tatiana Torrez: @CounselorNatalie I was wondering if CU has an art program?
  533. [4:32 PM] Charles Shambelan: @CounselorMolly That sounds awesome! What is the student to teacher ratio for underclassmen and upperclassmen and also are underclassmen predominantly instructed by teaching assistants or professors?
  534. [4:32 PM] Yajnish: What opportunities are there for undergraduate research?

  544. [4:32 PM] Emma Ziari: @SydneyConradGuest Also, do you know how long you will be deferring for? If so, I might have some info that could help you as far as housing goes. I had one of the admissions counselors come to my high school and she answered some of my questions about that...super helpful!
  545. [4:32 PM] Emmanuel Chavez De La Torre: What does Cu Boulder factor in the most when applying?
  546. [4:32 PM] Jordan Krieger: if i’m trying to do communications with a focus on advertising & PR what should my major be?

  570. [4:33 PM] Connor: @CounselorRyan if i took a year of spanish in middle school and 2 years in high school but passed spanish 3, does that count as a 3 years of foreign language?

  581. [4:34 PM] Carlin Shannon: @CounselorRyan What type of financial aid is available for out-of-state? I live in California and cost is going to factor into my decisions, but I really like CU's aerospace engineering program
  582. [4:34 PM] Atharv Dangore: I am applying to aerospace engineering. Does the freshman year have classes related to it?
  583. [4:34 PM] Counselor Ryan: @AlexaFrummGuest it is very wallkable.  lots of students have bikes and skateboards, but walkinng is no problem
  584. [4:34 PM] Rebekah Barnett: @CounselorRyan are there any opportunities for a student to receive a full scholarship?
  585. [4:34 PM] Adjoa Nyamekye: How much does CU:Boulder give in terms of financial aid?
  586. [4:34 PM] Jordan Krieger: @StudentGrace thank you!
  587. [4:34 PM] Kimberly Roper: I do, @CounselorRyan, will they limit the number of comp sci entering freshman this next year? I heard from an advisor that the classes are very full and students are having trouble graduating in 4 years.
  588. [4:34 PM] Sophia Renner: @CounselorFelicia Is it easy to switch majors if I discover mine is not the perfect fit for me?
  589. [4:34 PM] Emma Olson: What is the process like for taking pre-business courses? I recently visited campus and an admissions counselor mentioned "pre" courses. What college would they be held at?
  590. [4:34 PM] Counselor Ryan: @RebekahBarnettGuest we do not offer any full academic scholarships.
  591. [4:35 PM] Randyll Tarly: @CounselorBrad I'm sorry Counselor Brad... I meant more like what is the gender ratio. I know at mines it is very low but I was just curious what it is for Boulder. I now realize that that was a poorly worded question
  592. [4:35 PM] Sonali C: Would you say CU has a strong environmental science program?
  593. [4:35 PM] Karley Crady: what type of scholarships are available for out of state students?
  594. [4:35 PM] Reality Mitchell: Ok great!
  595. [4:35 PM] Sofia Cerna: Can you declare more than 1 major during the application process? Or would that come later?
  596. [4:35 PM] Counselor Molly: @MaxKuhlmanGuest Not a petroleum program specifically, but check out our program in chemical engineering!http://www.colorado.edu/chbe/
  597. [4:35 PM] Benjamin Schildkraut: What is the best place to room during freshman year?
  598. [4:35 PM] Simon Jeacock: ^
  599. [4:35 PM] Rebekah Barnett: @CounselorRyan Thank you for answering my question.
  600. [4:35 PM] Alexa Frumm: @CounselorRyan thank you! What would the class size look like as a freshman?
  601. [4:35 PM] Hunter Hoover-Watson: @CounselorBrad is there a course all freshman are required to take or does it all depend on @WilliamAllenGuest
  602. [4:35 PM] Jess Smith: @CounselorRyan Hi, Ryan! What is considered a good GPA for getting into Boulder?
  603. [4:35 PM] Counselor Ryan: @KimberlyRoperGuest if a student is admissible, they will be admitted.
  604. [4:35 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @ClarkHouGuest do mean which department? Can you clarify your question for us?
  605. [4:35 PM] Elizabeth Vaughn: What type of SAT scores are you looking for?
  606. [4:35 PM] Counselor Felicia: @UnaStevicGuest you might want to pursue Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, or Biochemistry! I encourage you to reach out to @CounselorNatalie for help with international admissions!
  607. [4:35 PM] Brianna: what if you don't meet the criteria for getting into business school, but get into CU? what happens?
  608. [4:36 PM] Counselor Molly: @LucasSheltonGuest You can apply for those scholarships starting on October 1, as long as you have submitted your application to CU! Most scholarships are available to in state and out of state students, but wouldn't necessarily cover your full tuition costs
  609. [4:36 PM] Benjamin Hogan: What recommendations do you have for the application process? Would you recommend applying as early as possible? How do you look at applicants? If I am from out of state, what scholarships and financial aid am I eligible to recieve?
  610. [4:36 PM] Pallavi Kolli: @CounselorMolly What kind of pre-med programs do you offer for undergraduates ?
  611. [4:36 PM] Roxana Pezeshki: I second Brianna's question ^
  612. [4:36 PM] khrystopher John: how is the athletics?
  613. [4:36 PM] Jorge: On the website it says the middle 50% highschool GPA for admitted students in the college of engineering is a 3.7 to 4.0.  Is that on the 4.0 scale or is that a weighted GPA?
  614. [4:36 PM] Weston Tierney: What job prospects through the CU job placement service are there for a History major?
  615. [4:36 PM] Tanner Erdem: @BriannaGuest Not CU personnel, but I'm pretty sure they default you to the School of Arts and Sciences undecided @RoxanaPezeshkiGuest
  616. [4:36 PM] Clark Hou: Are there scholarships for international students? If yes, how do I apply? What are the requirements? How much scholarship can be given?
  617. [4:36 PM] Adjoa Nyamekye: I agree with Benja. I'd like to know too.
  618. [4:36 PM] Counselor Molly: @CharlesShambelanGuest We have an 18:1 student to faculty ratio and most of our undergraduate classes are taught by faculty members! Graduate students primarily act as teaching assistants
  619. [4:36 PM] Simon Jeacock: @CounselorMolly Hello! Can I apply to Boulder before the Leeds Business school?
  620. [4:36 PM] Noah Glaser: If you could give one piece of advice to a prospective student, what would that be?
  621. [4:37 PM] Sarah Karaki: @CounselorRyan Is there a good nursing program at UC Boulder?
  622. [4:37 PM] Michael Lively: How difficult would it be to coordinate a double engineering major through your school?
  623. [4:37 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @BenjaminSchildkrautGuest2 that depends on a lot of factors! We have 24 halls, and all offer different features. You can choose a hall based on the room type you want, the residential academic program you want to take, or the location! You can learn more about the options here: https://living.colorado.edu/
  624. [4:37 PM] William Hunnius: @JorgeGuest I was wondering the same thing.
  625. [4:37 PM] Yajnish: How strong is the teacher-student interaction there? And does how the class size affects this?
  626. [4:37 PM] Hunter Hoover-Watson: No seriously though is there a course all freshmen take? @CounselorBrad
  627. [4:37 PM] Counselor Natalie: @ClarkHouGuest International applicants qualify for the same merit scholarships that out-of-state students do. You need to submit either a SAT or and ACT result as part of your application.
  628. [4:37 PM] Isabella Bowling: Where can I apply to the honors program?
  629. [4:37 PM] Counselor Brad: @NakulSinghGuest We have a Computer Science major in the College of Arts and Sciences and a Computer Science Major and Computer Science Engineering major in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, dependent on the time of computer science you are directly interested in
  630. [4:37 PM] Lucas Shelton: @JorgeGuest Weighted it says on the website
  631. [4:37 PM] Yajnish: *how does
  632. [4:37 PM] Michael Lively: To expand, likely electrical engineering, and computer engineering/computer science
  633. [4:37 PM] Randyll Tarly: Excuse me counselors... What is the gender ratio? I am unable to access the website with that information for some reason
  634. [4:37 PM] Admin Jennifer: @WestonTierneyGuest When you start at CU Boulder we encourage students to meet with Career Services to start exploring what career options are available.  Lots of humanities students are sought after because of their ability to think critically and communicate clearly.
  635. [4:37 PM] FutureBuffs: @WilliamAllenGuest Students and counselors have requested that you take tonight's chat seriously multiple times. It seems that you are unwilling to adhere to these guidelines and requests. As the group admin, I am asking you to leave the chat room.
  636. [4:37 PM] Counselor Molly: @TabithaLadendorfGuest We don't offer interviews as part of our admissions process, but you are always welcome to contact us with any questions at admissions@colorado.edu or connect with us while we're on the road!http://www.colorado.edu/admissions/connect
  637. [4:37 PM] Counselor Ryan: @BenjaminHoganGuest we always recommend applying early.  for more info on scholarships, please take a look atthis site http://www.colorado.edu/scholarships/auto-consider/freshmen
  638. [4:37 PM] Roman Treuthart: Can you tell me more details about the CMCI preview event on October 20?
  639. [4:38 PM] Counselor Felicia: @SofiaOsunaGuest Yes, definitely. We do recommend applying first to the more selective school (so, if you plan to study Business or Engineering, apply there first). Then once you start at CU, you can add a second major!
  640. [4:38 PM] Rebekah Barnett: @CounselorRyan When calculating GPA, does CU Boulder include grades from 9th grade? I know that some schools only include from 10th grade and up.
  641. [4:38 PM] Counselor Brad: @HunterHooverWatsonGuest There is not one specific course, but many will begin in general education course predominantly comprised of freshman
  642. [4:38 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @BenjaminHoganGuest @AdjoaNyamekyeGuest , We do encourage students who are interested in CU Boulder to meet (or beat!) the Early action (non-binding) deadline of 11/15/17. We do this because earlier applications will receive an earlier status update, but we do consider all students for both deadlines (and in and out of state), equally.
  643. [4:38 PM] Clark Hou: @CounselorLindsay Physics department and music department? Right? If I want to double major in physics and music these are the departments?
  644. [4:38 PM] Matthew Lineberry: Does CU Boulder offer any study abroad programs for engineers?
  645. [4:38 PM] Counselor Ryan: @RebekahBarnettGuest yes.  all years are considered
  646. [4:38 PM] Kara Constantakos: Hello this is Kara Constantakos, Thank you for taking the time to chat with me. I was wondering what is the best way to apply to the CU Leeds school of bussiness?
  647. [4:38 PM] Sofia Osuna: @CounselorFelicia Thanks! That's very helpful.
  648. [4:39 PM] Admin Jennifer: @YajnishGuest There is as much faculty to student interaction as you would like to have.  All faculty have office hours for students to come by and talk with them.  Our class sizes also range from big to small, but a majority of our class are fewer than 50 students.
  649. [4:39 PM] Counselor Molly: @katierodriguezGuest Check out Leadership & Community Engagement! It's an awesome major in the College of Education that is a great fit for students interested in service and community-based careers http://www.colorado.edu/academics/programs/leadership-community-engagement
  650. [4:39 PM] Clark Hou: does this chat save online? Can we come back to look at this chat after it's over?
  651. [4:39 PM] Megan Goldammer: i have the same question as kara constantakos
  652. [4:39 PM] Counselor Brad: @RandyllTarlyGuest I did a quick search as well, but will need to look further. Please email me at brad.kloha@colorado.edu, so I can get you the correct information.
  653. [4:39 PM] Noah Glaser: Are there any undergraduate research opportunities?  If so,  are they limited to certain majors or programs?
  654. [4:39 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @ClarkHouGuest yes! You can double-major across colleges on campus. I would use the link from earlier for the College of Music to contact them about this plan, as they can work with you specifically when wanting to do two majors.
  655. [4:39 PM] Student Jordan: @MatthewLineberryGuest Yes! regardless of your major the Study Abroad Office can work with you to make sure that your schedule can accommodate going abroad and staying on track to graduate!
  656. [4:39 PM] Michael Lively: How difficult would it be to coordinate a double engineering major through your school? To expand on that, likely electrical engineering, and computer engineering/computer science
  657. [4:39 PM] Hunter Hoover-Watson: @CounselorBrad Oh thank you! What are some of the general education courses? I'm probably going applied science, but I don't want to miss out on other subjects.
  658. [4:39 PM] Charles Shambelan: @CounselorMolly Lastly, how do I start talking to an admissions officer if that is even a possibility?
  659. [4:39 PM] Tanner Erdem: Assuming an applicant falls below the 50% average for acceptance, what sorts of things can we display to make the admissions counselor more inclined to request 1st Semester Senior grades?
  660. [4:39 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @ClarkHouGuest @FutureBuffs good question! Does this chat save online for future reference?
  661. [4:40 PM] William Hunnius: Do the engineering programs accept the AP Calculus AB exam or do I need to take the CU Boulder calculus based classes?
  662. [4:40 PM] Counselor Molly: @jacobagonaGuest Yes! You can see how they apply for credit at CU here: https://catalog.colorado.edu/undergraduate/admissions/credit-examination/#advancedplacementapcreditt...
  663. [4:40 PM] Randyll Tarly: @CounselorBrad Ah, that's okay. I will find out when I visit again. Again, thanks for your times, and I apologize for the poor choice of words.
  664. [4:40 PM] Nakul Singh: @CounselorBrad thanks! what about the scholarships offered?
  665. [4:40 PM] Matthew Lineberry: @StudentJordan Thank you.
  666. [4:40 PM] Yajnish: @AdminJennifer Yeah thanks
  667. [4:40 PM] Tabitha Ladendorf: If I apply to CU before my first semester grades are finished, how do I submit them after?
  668. [4:41 PM] Admin Jennifer: @WilliamHunniusGuest You can get credit for AP Calculus but it will not count towards a degree requirement, so yes, you'll need to take the CU Boulder calculus class.
  669. [4:41 PM] Maria Rangel: Hey
  670. [4:41 PM] Benjamin Schildkraut: is there a difference between applying now or a week before the EA deadline?
  671. [4:41 PM] Hunter Hoover-Watson: @CounselorBrad How does Boulder assign advisors? And do they stay with you all four/five years?
  672. [4:41 PM] Diego Chirico: Does boulder provide any 4 plus one masters programs for business?
  673. [4:41 PM] Counselor Brad: @HunterHooverWatsonGuest Classes range from science, math, humanities, and arts. Since you are interested in science, you may want to look here for details on the core curriculum http://www.colorado.edu/artsandsciences/student-resources/core-curriculum
  674. [4:41 PM] Sofia Cerna: Can you declare more than 1 major during the application process? Or would that come later?
  675. [4:41 PM] Counselor Molly: @LucasSheltonGuest @katierodriguezGuest Our admissions process for in-state and out of state students is the same!
  676. [4:41 PM] Gabrielle Neufeld: What are the requirements for admission to the education school?
  677. [4:41 PM] Student Mallory: @TabithaLadendorfGuest Hi! You will just submit another transcript when you confirm at CU.
  678. [4:41 PM] Counselor Brad: @WestonTierneyGuest They are quite varied, and could range from year-to-year.
  679. [4:41 PM] Counselor Molly: @KaitlandschaperGuest Yes! We can accept updated scores up until May 1 if you want to be re-considered for scholarships or for admission
  680. [4:42 PM] Admin Jennifer: @SofiaCernaGuest Students can add second majors and minors once they are enrolled at CU Boulder.
  681. [4:42 PM] Counselor Ryan: @NoahGlaserGuest this is a link to our UROP program and will give you a good overview of our undergrad research at CU  http://www.colorado.edu/suep/urop
  682. [4:42 PM] Benjamin Hogan: Would you recommend scheduling a visit after I apply/get accepted, or visit before applying?
  683. [4:42 PM] Tabitha Ladendorf: @StudentMallory Thank you!!
  684. [4:42 PM] William Hunnius: @AdminJennifer Thank you!
  685. [4:42 PM] Student Jordan: @WilliamHunniusGuest If you receive a 4 or 5 on the AB or BC exams your AP credit will be accepted
  686. [4:42 PM] Tanner Erdem: Asking again because it was missed: Assuming an applicant falls below the 50% average for acceptance, what sorts of factors will make the admissions counselor more inclined to request 1st Semester Senior grades?
  687. [4:42 PM] Pallavi Kolli: @CounselorBrad Do you have a robotics major ? When you go in as a freshman with a undecided major , is it hard to change your major later on ?
  688. [4:42 PM] Sofia Cerna: @AdminJennifer Thanks!
  689. [4:42 PM] William Hunnius: @StudentJordan Awesome thank you!
  690. [4:42 PM] Counselor Ryan: @BenjaminHoganGuest so long as you visit before May 1, you should be good
  691. [4:42 PM] Daniel Fiorillo: Can students be waitlisted from EA and reconsidered for RD?
  692. [4:42 PM] Counselor Molly: @MadlynnBardGuest Find info about all the AP Scores we accept here! https://catalog.colorado.edu/undergraduate/admissions/credit-examination/#advancedplacementapcreditt...
  693. [4:42 PM] jacob agona: can i maintain residency from new york while attending boulder  or is it recommended to get a Colorado drivers licence and change your address ect?
  694. [4:43 PM] Clark Hou: Which foreign languages are taught in CU Boulder? Is there a language department?
  695. [4:43 PM] Alexander Sklarz: If I'm interested in the School of Education, will I be required to major in the subject I wish to teach (such as specifically History), or could I major in another content area instead?
  696. [4:43 PM] Kaitland schaper: @CounselorMolly are all classes available to all majors?
  697. [4:43 PM] Counselor Brad: @BenjaminSchildkrautGuest2 There is not. However, to avoid any problems getting all of your information in (all materials must be received before the Early Action deadline to be considered), you'll want to be certain to apply as soon as possible.
  698. [4:43 PM] Alexandra Zerbe: how much is a parking permit cost for the year
  699. [4:43 PM] Olivia Testa: Is it crucial to have a drivers license and/or have access to a car at Boulder for research, internship opportunities as well as recreation?
  700. [4:43 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @BenjaminHoganGuest that is entirely up to you! We are not going to use your visit as a factor in your admission decision, so come when it makes the most sense, and hopefully you'll join us for Admitted Student Day in April!
  701. [4:43 PM] Amber Crute: Hi, will CU Boulder transfer my college credits earned from a local community college/dual enrollment program?
  702. [4:43 PM] Sonali C: Is it a strike to your application to apply without having visited the campus?
  703. [4:43 PM] Jacob Wechsler: Are there research opportunities that are available to freshmen?
  704. [4:43 PM] Clark Hou: What do students of physics major do after they graduate?
  705. [4:43 PM] Vanessa Flores: Oh perfect!! thank you so much @CounselorMolly I appreciate it. So I can still major like lets say in French too? or spanish? Since I am fluent in both. Thank you for responding guys!!
  706. [4:43 PM] Daniel Fiorillo: Is there a foreign language requirement wile in Environmental Design?
  707. [4:43 PM] Vanessa Flores: I really appreciate it so much :)
  708. [4:43 PM] Kelly Johnson: Are there any programs for pre med students ?
  709. [4:43 PM] Counselor Felicia: @RealityMitchellGuest Regarding your question about tuition, are you a Colorado resident?
  710. [4:44 PM] Daniel Fiorillo: *while
  711. [4:44 PM] Counselor Molly: @jacobagonaGuest Every professor sets their own office hours, but all of them offer time to meet with students each week!
  712. [4:44 PM] Counselor Brad: @RomanTreuthartGuest The CMCI event will give you a much more in depth glimpse and information into that specific college. It will be much more robust than one of the general visit programs.
  713. [4:44 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @AlexandraZerbeGuest it's usually around $300, but you can see more information here: http://www.colorado.edu/pts/
  714. [4:44 PM] Sophie Gomprecht: what is the largest a class size will be
  715. [4:44 PM] Student Mallory: @ClarkHouGuest Hi! There are lots of different language classes here at CU.  I personally study Arabic and it has been a wonderful experience.  We have an international coffee hour every Friday, which is a great time to interact with native speakers! Is there a specific language you are interested in?
  716. [4:44 PM] Student Grace: @OliviaTestaGuest Hi Oliva! I'm an out of state student without a car. The public transportation system is great! You get a free bus pass when you arrive to CU. I have never had a problem with not having a car.
  717. [4:44 PM] Abrianah Witchett: How is out of state tuition?
  718. [4:44 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @AmberCruteGuest we do accept dual-enrollment credits. You can see a preliminary transfer outline using www.transferology.com and our team of evaluators will look at your transfer work when you get ready to attend CU Boulder as well.
  719. [4:45 PM] Admin Jennifer: @AmberCruteGuest CU Boulder will review your transfer credit and let you know what will transfer if you are admitted.  you can preview what might transfer at https://www.transferology.com/school/colorado
  720. [4:45 PM] Savannah Rivera: Do you offer classes for Wildlife Educator?
  721. [4:45 PM] Counselor Ryan: @KellyJohnsonGuest we offer prehealth which is similar to PreMed but can be customized to each student and the medical field they are looking for (medicine, dentist, etc.)
  722. [4:45 PM] Counselor Zeni: @AlexandraZerbeGuest here is a link to parking services. the costs depend on where you live and want to park your car http://www.colorado.edu/pts/permits/parking-permits/student-permits
  723. [4:45 PM] Arzah Laing: Hello! How hands on would you say that the chemical engineering major is (or the engineering school in general)? Are there trips to industries that the class partakes in? How exactly are the students prepared for work in the real life.
  724. [4:45 PM] Counselor Brad: @AlexanderSklarzGuest If you are interested in a licensure in Secondary Education, you will need to major in that subject. Elementary Education is slightly different and is a degree of it's own.
  725. [4:45 PM] Alexandra Zerbe: do people typically get accepted to medical school right from undergrad through CU?  Just curious if there is any "stat"
  726. [4:45 PM] Sophia Renner: @studentmallory what is your favorite part of being a student at CU?
  727. [4:45 PM] Counselor Molly: @LandonTuchardtGuest Integrative Physiology is a really popular major for pre-med students, but you can major in anything and pursue a pre-med track at CU Boulder with help from our pre-health advisors in the career center!http://www.colorado.edu/career/prehealth
  728. [4:45 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @ClarkHouGuest many students go into graduated studies, but for exact data, I would check with the Physics department directly!
  729. [4:45 PM] Alexandra Zerbe: thanks for the parking info
  730. [4:45 PM] Kelly Johnson: Okay great, thank you!
  731. [4:45 PM] Yajnish: What percentage of students graduate in 4 years.
  732. [4:45 PM] Alexa Frumm: @TannerErdemGuest Im pasting your question again since I'm also interested to know this
  733. "Asking again because it was missed: Assuming an applicant falls below the 50% average for acceptance, what sorts of factors will make the admissions counselor more inclined to request 1st Semester Senior grades?"
  734. [4:45 PM] Yajnish: ?
  735. [4:45 PM] luca damian: Is it possible for a freshman to major in business and minor in computer science?

  743. [4:46 PM] Amber Crute: @CounselorLindsay @AdminJennifer thank you so much!
  744. [4:46 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @DanielFiorilloGuest We require all applicants to have finished the third level of one language, so if you have not completed this, you will be required to do so at CU Boulder.
  745. [4:46 PM] Counselor Ryan: @ArzahLaingGuest our engineering students get a lot of hands on experience through research and internships.  our number one goal is to ensure all of our students are prepared once they leave CU
  746. [4:46 PM] Benjamin Hogan: I really enjoy skiing, do you have a ski team/club? I believe that you are roughly 1-2 hours away from Vail/Keystone/Breck/Beaver?
  747. [4:46 PM] Counselor Zeni: @JacobWechslerGuest Yes, definitely. here is a link to the UROP program http://www.colorado.edu/suep/urop
  748. [4:46 PM] Maddie Woodman: thank you @StudentGrace :)
  749. [4:46 PM] Tanner Erdem: @AlexaFrummGuest thanks, very curious to know what things will give me an edge
  750. [4:46 PM] Matthew Lineberry: How realistic is it to ride a bike or longboard around campus rather than having a car on campus?
  751. [4:46 PM] Megan Amoah: How's the weather over there?
  752. [4:46 PM] Counselor Natalie: @ClarkHouGuest The answer is the same as before --- international students qualify for the same merit scholarships as non-resident students do, as long as you submit the SAT or the ACT!
  753. [4:46 PM] Yajnish: how many graduates come back to complete a master's degree?
  754. [4:46 PM] Student Mallory: @SophiaRennerGuest My favorite part about being at CU is honestly getting to live in Boulder.  It is an amazing college town and there are so many things to do both academically and outside of class.  I personally love skiing and climbing and Boulder is a great place to do that.
  755. [4:46 PM] Counselor Molly: @KarleyCradyGuest You can major in the area you'd like to teach and then pursue licensure through the College of Education! http://www.colorado.edu/education/academics/teacher-licensure
  756. [4:46 PM] Alexander Sklarz: @CounselorBrad Thank you! I understand this differs school to school so I appreciate knowing about Boulder's specific program!
  757. [4:47 PM] Counselor Felicia: @RoxanaPezeshkiGuest Since we use holistic review, we do not automatically decline anyone. Your application will be given careful consideration and we will take your essays and letter of recommendation into consideration regardless of your GPA!
  758. [4:47 PM] Student Jordan: @SophieGomprechtGuest As long as you always prioritize academics and make time for studying it's very manageable! I'm double majoring but i'm also part of a club sports team and greek life !
  759. [4:47 PM] Admin Jennifer: @YajnishGuest CU Boulder has the #1 four year graduation rate for Colorado public universities.
  760. [4:47 PM] Counselor Ryan: @JennaGevertzGuest you are welcome to have one but it is not needed.  getting around campus and boulder is very easy
  761. [4:47 PM] Maddie Woodman: what area of the application does CU Boulder put most emphasis on, if any?

  763. [4:47 PM] Jacob Wechsler: Thank you for the help @CounselorZeni it is much appreciated.
  764. [4:47 PM] Student Grace: @MatthewLineberryGuest Very! The campus is very pedestrian friendly and so many students bike or skate to class!
  765. [4:47 PM] Admin Jennifer: @YajnishGuest That is an excellent question that I do not have any information on.  Sorry about that!
  766. [4:47 PM] Counselor Brad: @OliviaTestaGuest It may depend on the specific research, internship, or recreation opportunity you may be seeking, regarding a license or access to car. There are many great public transportation opportunities around Boulder and other regions, however, that will be relevant when you seek those opportunities.
  767. [4:47 PM] Gabrielle Neufeld: @AdminJennifer What are the requirements of applying to the education school?

  772. [4:47 PM] Counselor Zeni: @AbrianahWitchettGuest here is a link which leads to costs and also scholarships and programs like our 4 year Tuition Guarantee http://www.colorado.edu/admissions/cost
  773. [4:47 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @AlexandraZerbeGuest we do not track this rate, because our pre-health advising does much more than send students to medical programs, but they are a great support service for students looking to get into medical fields after graduation. I encourage you to learn more about them here: http://www.colorado.edu/career/prehealth
  774. [4:48 PM] Admin Jennifer: @GabrielleNeufeldGuest Are you a transfer student or a freshman?

  785. [4:48 PM] Daniel Fiorillo: @CounselorLindsay Thank you- I have completed 3 years of foreign  language in HS.  So there would be no further foreign lang required while attending CU?
  786. [4:48 PM] Counselor Felicia: @SophiaRennerGuest The required procedures to change your major, college or school are set by each department. If you decide you want to change your major, you will contact your desired department to complete the requirements.
  787. [4:48 PM] Counselor Molly: @KristenCostelloGuest Very important! Your essays are your only chance to tell us about yourself in your own words. We want to hear about what excites you about CU Boulder and why you think this is a great fit for you!
  788. [4:48 PM] Student Grace: @SamBrownGuest Here is the link to their website. I am working with the abroad office now to go abroad next semester and my experience has been amazing! https://abroad.colorado.edu

  793. [4:49 PM] Sam Brown: @StudentGrace Awesome! thank you so much
  794. [4:49 PM] Charles Shambelan: @CounselorMolly Actually, one more question. Given that CU Boulder is in the mountains, do I have a higher chance of getting in considering that I go to Killington Mountain School, a winter sports school?
  795. [4:49 PM] Jack Messler: What is the difference when applying in early action vs normal application dates
  796. [4:49 PM] Vanessa Flores: Can I have a link for the pre health such? Thank you :)
  797. [4:49 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @DanielFiorilloGuest no.

  805. [4:49 PM] Madlynn Bard: @CounselorLindsay  Hi!
  806. [4:49 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @DanielFiorilloGuest the only reason you'd have more is if they were different languages (not the same).
  807. [4:49 PM] Counselor Brad: @DanielRuvinsGuest Our process is very holistic, so we encourage students to present their best application possible with all relevant information for the committee to make a decision.
  808. [4:49 PM] Tanner Erdem: asking again:Assuming an applicant falls below the 50% average for acceptance, what sorts of things can will make the admissions counselor more inclined to request 1st Semester Senior grades?
  809. [4:49 PM] Flor Flores: Do y’all offer financial aid?
  810. [4:49 PM] Clark Hou: @CounselorLindsay How are the graduated studies? What degrees are offered? And what do graduate students do afterwards?

  819. [4:50 PM] Patrick Graves: @CounselorMolly what is the freshman retention rate?
  820. [4:50 PM] Olivia Testa: How feasible is it to study abroad and pursue an engineering degree?
  821. [4:50 PM] Yajnish: Off topic... but can an international student receive need based scholarship
  822. [4:50 PM] Weston Tierney: But not above 3.5 or an SAT of above 1200?
  823. [4:50 PM] Sofia Cerna: Does CU Boulder have a pre-med advisory office that would help during my four years of college along with applying to medical school?
  824. [4:50 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @DanielRuvinsGuest we do not have a required score or grade to get into Leeds or CU Boulder since we practice a holistic admissions review, but you can see the Middle 50% of student admission here: http://www.colorado.edu/admissions/selection
  825. [4:50 PM] Camryn Dixon: What is the average GPA for the honors college?
  826. [4:51 PM] Vanessa Flores: I also want to say how happy and excited I am to apply to this school! Now, there are 2 essays right? What are your tips to get in?
  827. [4:51 PM] Admin Jennifer: @GabrielleNeufeldGuest It is a combination of your academic grades and your test scores.  We also take your weighted GPA.
  828. [4:51 PM] Counselor Natalie: @YajnishGuest CU only offers merit-based scholarships, so make sure to submit your SAT or ACT result!
  829. [4:51 PM] Kaya Roland: how much does test scores really affect chances of getting in

  832. [4:51 PM] Tanner Eubanks: What's poppin counselors? If I have a 33 on the ACT and a 4.1 weighted GPA, do you think I'd be solid candidate for your honors engineering program?
  833. [4:51 PM] Vanessa Flores: like tips on how to write a great essay!
  834. [4:51 PM] Madlynn Bard: What is the application process like for the honors college?
  835. [4:51 PM] Counselor Molly: @MatthewLineberryGuest We have 2 computer science majors in the College of Engineering & the College of arts & Sciences. Both are taught by the same faculty and are excellent, but the program in Arts & Sciences will require you to take a broader range of classes outside of your major than the program in Engineering
  836. [4:51 PM] Gabrielle Neufeld: @AdminJennifer Thanks!
  837. [4:51 PM] Isabella Bowling: Where can I find more information about the honors program?
  838. [4:51 PM] Student Jordan: @OliviaTestaGuest Very reasonable! The Study Abroad Office can work with you to find a program that will still allow you to stay on track for a 4 year graduation. I've plenty of engineering friends that are still on track to be done on time and went abroad!
  839. [4:51 PM] Sarah Karaki: Is there a nursing program at UC Boulder?
  840. [4:51 PM] Benjamin Hogan: @CounselorLindsay @CounselorRyan @StudentMallory Thanks for answering my quesitons!
  841. [4:51 PM] Lilly Adams: What if I never did any high school sports and just a few extracurriculars, would that lower my chances of getting in?
  842. [4:51 PM] Camryn Dixon: How soon after we apply should we expect to hear back about admissions?
  843. [4:51 PM] Sophia Renner: @CounselorBrad Hi, im wondering if students are automatically reviewed for merit scholarships when they apply?
  844. [4:52 PM] Clark Hou: @CounselorNatalie What are the merit scholarships for nonresident students? What SAT score do you need?
  845. [4:52 PM] Yajnish: @CounselorNatalie yeah
  846. [4:52 PM] Jasiah white: I want to go to this college
  847. [4:52 PM] luca damian: @CounselorMolly Is it possible for a freshman to major in business and minor in computer science?
  848. [4:52 PM] Counselor Zeni: @JacobWechslerGuest Freshman registration is pretty equal, and then as you go up in classes, there can be issues with very popular classes, like classes which are the Not 8 AM sections of the course.
  849. [4:52 PM] Counselor Zeni: @JasiahwhiteGuest Sounds like a plan
  850. [4:52 PM] Counselor Molly: @PallaviKolliGuest Our pre-health advisors work with students interested in all range of medical careers! You may also want to look into Integrative Physiology if you're looking for a health-related major http://www.colorado.edu/career/prehealth
  851. [4:52 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @CamrynDixonGuest if you apply by the 11/15 deadline, we guarantee a status update by 2/1/18.
  852. [4:52 PM] Gabrielle Neufeld: @AdminJennifer What is the average gpa out of state?
  853. [4:52 PM] Admin Jennifer: @WestonTierneyGuest If you have a weighted GPA between 3.43 and 4.0 and SAT comp between 1180 and 1350 you will be competitive for admission to the College of Arts & Sciences.  If you want a more competitive major like business or engineering, you'll need to be in the top 25% to competitive.
  854. [4:52 PM] Jack Messler: What is the difference between the Leeds school or general when focusing on business?
  855. [4:52 PM] Vanessa Flores: also, what is an average GPA to have for this school?
  856. [4:52 PM] Counselor Molly: @VanessaFloresGuest Absolutely! Just work with your advisors to make sure you're staying on track
  857. [4:52 PM] Tanner Erdem: How demanding is the business major? Will a participant in the major be able to hold a part-time job simultaneously?
  858. [4:52 PM] Jacob Wechsler: @CounselorZeni Thank you for the information.  It is very helpful.
  859. [4:53 PM] Student Mallory: @MadlynnBardGuest @IsabellaBowlingGuest http://www.colorado.edu/honors/admission#admitted_first_year_students-102 Here is the information abut the honors college.  There is no application process, they extend invitations with acceptance letters.  They typically admit the students in the top 10% of the admitted class.
  860. [4:53 PM] Anthony Ricci: How important are grades relative to the essay and other aspects of the application?
  861. [4:53 PM] Vanessa Flores: Thank you @CounselorMolly
  862. [4:53 PM] Lilly Adams: How would a 1150 SAT and 3.85 GPA fair in terms of admissions?

  866. [4:53 PM] Alexa Frumm: Do you get admitted into the University or do you have to pick a college/major and get into that?
  867. [4:53 PM] Counselor Brad: @KayaRolandGuest Test scores, GPA, personal statements/essays, letters of recommendation, and anything else you submit all play a role in your admission decision.
  868. [4:53 PM] Arzah Laing: @CounselorRyan Thank you! If you had to take a guess what percentage of engineering students participate in Co-Op/Research work, and are international students eligible?
  869. [4:53 PM] Julia Spathies: How much money is normally given to out of state students with a gpa of 3.5
  870. [4:53 PM] Maddie Woodman: Is it possible to double major in communications and journalism?
  871. [4:53 PM] Counselor Molly: @SimonJeacockGuest You'll choose the school you want to apply into when you submit your application, so you apply to CU Boulder and to Leeds at the same time
  872. [4:53 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @AlexaFrummGuest you select a major when you apply, but we do offer "open option" in Arts and Sciences, which is like an undeclared degree, so we have both options!
  873. [4:53 PM] Pallavi Kolli: @CounselorMolly Thank you
  874. [4:53 PM] Tanner Eubanks: How good is your engineering program?
  875. [4:53 PM] Nicole Hamilton: When do you need to declare a major by?
  876. [4:53 PM] Counselor Natalie: If there are any international students in the chat, I'm happy to speak with you!
  877. [4:54 PM] Matthew Lineberry: @CounselorMolly Thank you! How realistic would a double major be in Electrical engineering and Computer Science? Do any classes overlap both majors?
  878. [4:54 PM] Megan Amoah: Is medical technology/laboratory sciences offered at Boulder?
  879. [4:54 PM] Kara Constantakos: @CounselorRyan Hello this is Kara Constantakos, Thank you for taking the time to chat with me. I was wondering what is the best way to apply to the CU Leeds school of bussiness?
  880. [4:54 PM] Benjamin Hogan: One more question, what is the average SAT score from last year's admitted freshman?
  881. [4:54 PM] Counselor Brad: @AnthonyRicciGuest Since every student is different, it is important for us to view the whole student (grades, test scores, essays/personal statements). We want to know your story and the full picture of what makes you, you.
  882. [4:54 PM] Counselor Felicia: @JackMesslerGuest The Leeds School of Business will give you in-depth practical experience in business, as well as internship opportunities, that pertain much more to a career in business than what you would get if you were in the College of Arts and Sciences.
  883. [4:54 PM] Jasmyne Emerson: Is Engineering Physics offered?
  884. [4:54 PM] Counselor Zeni: @lucadamianGuest There is possibility for this. or you can do a Comp Science Major with the 12 credit Business Minor?

  890. [4:54 PM] Admin Jennifer: @GabrielleNeufeldGuest We don't really calculate averages.  The middle 50% of our admitted students had between a 3.43 and 4.0.  This is combined CO and out of state residents.
  891. [4:54 PM] Isabella Bowling: Thank you!
  892. [4:54 PM] Counselor Molly: @MichaelLivelyGuest As long as you work with your academic advisors, it would definitely be possible to double major within engineering. Adding a second major outside of engineering would be more difficult, but still possible!
  893. [4:54 PM] Ryan Hicks: Hi, I have a weighted 3.861 GPA and a super score ACT of a 27, am I a pretty strong candidate for Leeds if I'm in state and both my parents and brother are alumni?

  901. [4:55 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @AlexaFrummGuest that is in the College of Arts and Sciences.

  904. [4:55 PM] Camryn Dixon: What percentage of students pursue a double major?
  905. [4:55 PM] Yajnish: Is there any anime/manga club?  Just asking hehe
  906. [4:55 PM] Counselor Felicia: @GabrielleNeufeldGuest we do not consider in-state and out of state students differently in the application process. You can see selection criteria here: http://www.colorado.edu/admissions/selection
  907. [4:55 PM] Counselor Molly: @CharlesShambelanGuest You're talking to a whole bunch of counselors now! But if you want to connect with your counselor, you can find their information online or email us at admissions@colorado.edu http://www.colorado.edu/admissions/connect
  908. [4:55 PM] Counselor Brad: @JuliaSpathiesGuest There are no specific set amounts or averages. We consider you for automatic awards when you apply, and you can apply for additional scholarships through the CU Boulder Scholarship Application after Oct. 1st of your application year.
  909. [4:55 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @CamrynDixonGuest that's a good question, and I'm not sure! But we have options for double majors across the university, so you don't have to limit your degrees to just one college!
  910. [4:55 PM] Megan Amoah: Is medical technology/laboratory sciences offered at Boulder?
  911. [4:55 PM] Clark Hou: @StudentMallory If I have other majors I can take languages as minors right? Are you taking a major in Arabic? How hard are language courses?
  912. [4:56 PM] Arzah Laing: @CounselorRyan Thank you so much! I appreciate your help.
  913. [4:56 PM] luca damian: does anyone know the average SAT score for admitted Boulder applicants
  914. [4:56 PM] Alexa Frumm: @CounselorLindsay Are there different requirements for admission for the different colleges? Or are they all the same?
  915. [4:56 PM] Admin Jennifer: @WestonTierneyGuest We look at your application holistically.  We start with your academics and then learn more about you and your interests through your extra curricular activities and your essay and you letter of recommendation.

  917. [4:56 PM] Ryan Hicks: Also do you look at weighted or unweighted GPA

  920. [4:56 PM] Lilly Adams: If I take the november SAT and get accepted to CU Boulder, will I be able to send in my updated score if it's better to qualify for better merit-based scholarships?
  921. [4:56 PM] Tanner Erdem: If we are below the middle 50% of applicants, what sorts of things would make us more desirable for acceptance?
  922. [4:56 PM] Andrew Russo: Can you tell me about the average GPA/ SAT for computer science majors?
  923. [4:56 PM] Counselor Brad: @YajnishGuest Not sure of a specific club, but you can search for one here:http://www.colorado.edu/involvement/organizations. If there is not one, you can start one!
  924. [4:56 PM] Alexis Lee: What makes a student stand out from the rest of the applicants?
  925. [4:56 PM] Counselor Ryan: @KaraConstantakosGuest there is nothing special about the business app that would be different from other colleges,  Submit your transcripts, test scores, etc. and try to get it in earlier than later.  besides that, be yourself and let us know why CU is a good fit
  926. [4:57 PM] Counselor Lindsay: @AlexaFrummGuest we review applicants based on the major and college to which they are applying, so we provide the Middle 50% of each college to see how some are typically more competitive for admission than others: http://www.colorado.edu/admissions/selection. If you are not admissible to your first choice, we will automatically consider you for Arts and Sciences.
  927. [4:57 PM] Julia Spathies: @CounselorBrad okay thank you
  928. [4:57 PM] Emily Crist: What types of study abroad programs do you offer?

  930. [4:57 PM] Yajnish: @CounselorBrad yeah thanks
  931. [4:57 PM] Counselor Natalie: @NakulSinghGuest A good guideline is the information we publish on the middle 50% of the class we admitted last year. Most applicants admitted to Engineering had between a 3.9 and a 4.0 GPA and 1300-1450 SAT result.
  932. [4:57 PM] Gabrielle Neufeld: @CounselorFelicia What would you say the average gpa for kids from Staples High School is?

  934. [4:57 PM] Kaya Roland: what type of tutoring services are offered
  935. [4:57 PM] Camryn Dixon: What percentage of students participate in study abroad programs?
  936. [4:57 PM] Maddie Woodman: Does it take the same amount of time to double major as it does to complete a single major? Does the admissions committee read every single personal statement all the way through?
  937. [4:57 PM] Counselor Molly: @jacobagonaGuest You can keep your New York residency as a student
  938. [4:57 PM] Sarah Karaki: @CounselorBrad Is there a nursing program at UC Boulder?
  939. [4:57 PM] Counselor Zeni: @MaddieWoodmanGuest yes, and here is the details for the secondary emphasis that CMCI requires of all majors http://www.colorado.edu/orientation/college-media-communication-information
  940. [4:57 PM] Joel Cerny: are 3.0 out of state accepted often?
  941. [4:57 PM] Sophia Renner: @CounselorFelicia Awesome! Thank you.

  944. [4:58 PM] Counselor Brad: @KayaRolandGuest We recommend you apply to the school in which you have the greatest interest (even if it is just slightly more). You can work with advisors to find out how to double major, or if you decide to switch the school you want to be a part of.
  945. [4:58 PM] Jack Messler: @CounselorRyan If I were to apply to the Leeds school of business and don't get in, do I have to apply again or will I be considered for the general school?

  953. [4:58 PM] Student Mallory: @ClarkHouGuest If you want to declare a language as a major or a minor it is totally up to you!  Not all languages have majors and minors, it really depends.  I am getting an Arabic minor but that program just started this fall.  ... As far as difficultly, it really just depends on the professor.  I found that all of my classes have been challenging in a way that helps me learn the language but not challenged to get a good grade in if that makes sense.
