Terms and Conditions

Thank you for being a part of Roblox! We’re excited to invite you to take part in the Egg Design Contest (“Contest”).

Acceptance of Terms. Below are the terms and conditions that govern your participation in the Contest (“Contest Terms”). These Contest Terms are supplemental to the Roblox Terms of Use (“General Terms”) which govern your use of the Roblox websites or any of Roblox products, software, applications, content, data feeds, and services (“Roblox Services”). The General Terms are incorporated herein by reference. The Contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and individual terms will be void where prohibited by law. Where any term is void due to local law Roblox reserves the right to act in whatever way will create the result closest to that which would have been created by the voided term, which is also legally enforceable. If you do not agree to the General Terms and the Contest Terms, you may not participate in the Contest.

Administrator. The Contest is administrated by Roblox, Inc. (“we,” “our,” or “us”), 60 E 3rd Avenue, San Mateo, CA 94401.

General conditions. The Contest is open to Roblox registered users only. Our employees, their immediate family members and persons living in the same household are not eligible. The Contest is void where prohibited or limited by law or where registration, bonding or localization required.  No purchase or payment is necessary to enter the Contest, and a purchase or payment will not increase the chances of winning. Chance of winning depends on the skill and number of the entrants.

Your Challenge. Create an egg design for the Roblox Custom Game, 2018 Egg Hunt (“2018 Egg Hunt”).

Submission Period. Submission Period begins on October 3, 2017 at 12:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time) and ends on October 17, 2017 at 11:59 PM (Pacific Daylight Time). You will only be able to enter the Contest during the Submission Period. We determine the time of entry in our sole discretion.

Entry Method. To enter the Contest, follow the below steps:

Create an egg design (“Design”). You may draw your Design and scan or photograph it, create it in Photoshop, Illustrator, or other 2D drawing software (“2D Design”), or in Roblox Studio (“Roblox Studio Design”).
2D Designs shall be submitted in PNG format via survey available on our website;
To submit Roblox Studio Design please generate the link to your Roblox Studio Design by following the below instructions and copy the link and submit it via the survey available on our website:
Select your model group, and click “File” then “Publish Selection to Roblox”;
Click “Create New,” name Design, add a Description, and click “Finish”;

You may submit more than one Design, provided that each Design is unique. Multiple submissions of the same Design will not increase your chance of winning.

Requirements. All entries must follow Roblox Community Guidelines. Your Design must be your own work and may not incorporate in any way intellectual property or proprietary rights, including trademark and copyright, of any other person or entity without that person’s or entity’s express permission.

Intellectual Property Rights. In the course of participating in this Contest, whatever you enter or provide to us (whether we ask for it or not) will be considered UGC (as this term is defined in the General Terms), with the addition that you allow us to use your Design in the video game. For the sake of clarity, that UGC will be subject to the General Terms, including without limitation Section 6b.

Winning Design selection. After the end of the Submission Period, our team will review the Designs submitted in accordance with the Contest Terms and select the best Design based on the following equally weighted criteria: creativity, relevance, originality, overall artistic impression, visual appeal and taste (“Winning Design”). The Winning Design will be announced on or about October 31.The selection of the Winning Design shall be at the absolute discretion of the Roblox team whose decision shall be final. You acknowledge that in the event your Design is selected as the Winning Design, we may post your Roblox username as the author of the Winning Design on the Roblox Services and Roblox's social media accounts and feeds.

2018 Egg Hunt. The Winning Design will be used by us to create an item for the 2018 Egg Hunt.We may have to make certain changes to the Winning Design in order to incorporate it in 2018 Egg Hunt (e.g. to meet technical requirements of our platform). There will be no payment or further reward for the author of the Winning Design as a result of the Winning Design being used in 2018 Egg Hunt.

Conditions of Participation. By submitting an entry for this Contest, you agree to abide by these Contest Terms and any decision we make regarding this Contest, which we shall make in our sole discretion. We reserve the right to disqualify and take any action permitted by law against any participant or winner who, in our reasonable suspicion, tampers with our sites, the entry process, violates these Contest Terms, or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.

Cancellation. If we are not capable of running the Contest as planned, we reserve the right at our sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest and select the Winning Design from among all otherwise eligible entries received prior to the cancellation. Persons attempting to “game” the Contest or tampering with the Contest in any way whatsoever to gain an unfair advantage, violating the fair play or spirit of the rules, or abusing any aspect of the Contest will be disqualified. We reserve the right to correct any typographical, printing, computer programming or operator errors, including without limitation computer errors that erroneously award prizes.

Governing Law/Venue. The Contest Terms shall be governed and constructed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, USA. The venue for any suit, action, proceeding or litigation arising out of or in relation to the Contest Terms will be in any federal or state court in the State of California, USA having subject matter jurisdiction.

Third Parties. You understand that the Contest may involve advertisers, sponsors or other third parties (“Third Parties”). YOU UNDERSTAND THAT THE CONTEST IS SOLEY BETWEEN YOU AND US (AND NOT WITH ANY THIRD PARTIES), THAT THIRD PARTIES, INCLUDING FACEBOOK AND TWITTER, WILL HAVE NO LIABLITY TO YOU FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE CONTEST, AND THAT IN ANY CASE YOU RELEASE ALL THIRD PARTIES FROM ANY LIABLITY TO YOU RELATED IN ANY WAY TO THE CONTEST. You acknowledge that the Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any social media platforms, including Facebook or Twitter.

Winner’s List.  Individuals may request the name of the author of the Winning Design (“Winner”) by submitting a self-addressed stamped envelope prior to 3 months from the Contest End to Roblox Building Contest Winner’s List Request 60 E 3rd Avenue, San Mateo, CA 94401. Vermont residents may omit postage.
